Synopsis
They wanted forever… but is forever really their destiny?

When misunderstandings and unsavory characters get in their way, Ellen and Jag call it quits after nine years of being together. Now they find themselves in places with which they’re unaccustomed: Ellen is trying to get used to the idea of dating another man, having never gone out with anyone other than Jag, while Jag is coping with an injury and the loss of baseball, a game he’s played for most of his life. Neither is sure how to handle their new situation, but they’re dealing.

When a surprise trade lands Jag right back in the middle of things and right back into Ellen’s life, new boyfriend and all, can he keep his cool and prove to her that what they once had is what’s right? Does Ellen still carry a torch for her first love or has she already fallen for her new baseball player, making it too late for them to start again?

The fight is on as Jag goes head-to-head with Ellen’s new love interest as he tries proving to her that their love deserves another shot. Can he win her back or is their dream of a perfect forever gone for good?

This is the third book of the True Love Trilogy.

What happens when “forever and a day” doesn’t seem possible anymore? What happens when harsh words were said and quick decisions were made without looking at what it truly meant? At the end of book 2, Ellen and Jag are apart…hurt…angry…lost, and when book 3, Finally Us, begins, they are in the same exact place, but now that some time has passed, the hurt is stronger; the anger has turned to fury, and both Ellen and Jag are stuck. They can’t move on; they don’t want to move on, but they also don’t do anything to fix what they broke. Until fate intervenes. But now that Ellen and Jag have the opportunity to try again, will they take it or has too much trust been broken and too many words left unsaid to get their forever?

When Finding Us ended, I was pissed at both Ellen and Jag. I wanted them to fight for each other harder. I know it was hard for Ellen to deal with Jag’s stardom and all it entailed, and Jag didn’t help the issues because he just didn’t get it, but with all of the years they had been together, I couldn’t understand how easily she walked away. I needed both of them to redeem themselves in book 3 and get their act together, so they could have their “forever and a day.”

Right away, Jag had me in his corner. He knew what he wanted and that was Ellen back in his life and back in his bed. He never felt like this was the end of them; he was just giving her time to work through everything before he reclaimed his woman. Did I want to kick him in the ass and give him the push he needed to act a little quicker? Absolutely, but he got his shit together and then it was game on for him.

I found myself shaking my head at Ellen’s actions a lot throughout Finally Us.  I can understand her trying to move on because she did think it was over with Jag, but the choices she made and her naiveté after Jag comes back into her life was bewildering to me. When you’ve been with someone for so long, you need to trust in the relationship you built together, and for quite some time, she didn’t prove her faith in her man and that made it hard for me to like her.

But as the title suggests, it’s about finally getting it right, and despite what they put each other through to get there, they make it, and the epilogue makes all of the hurt and anger melt away!
