Title: ‘Til Death: Volume One
Series: ‘Til Death #1
Author: Bella Jewel
 Release Date: November 25, 2014
Synopsis

They say there’s a fine line between love and hate.

There is.

I married a douchebag.

I didn’t know it at the time.

He came in like a handsome stranger and blew me off my feet.

I fell madly in love, like the naive girl I am.

Then he left me high and dry.

Turns out, I was nothing more than a business plan for billionaire playboy, Marcus Tandem.

He needed to be married in order to obtain his grandfathers business, and I was the poor victim in his path.

I believed in what we had, until the truth reared its ugly head.

I never meant anything to Marcus. Not a damned thing.

With my world spinning on its axis, the girl I once was has long since died.

Instead he left me as this empty, emotionless shell.

I may have made a vow before God to love and cherish him ‘Til Death do we part, but it’s time for me to give back to Marcus, exactly what he gave me.

He has to pay.

And pay he will.

Review

When I first met Marcus and Katia in Anguish (Jokers’ Wrath MC, #3), I knew their story was going to be one hell of a ride just by how they interacted with each other in that small sequence, and I was not wrong. Til Death had my emotions all over the place, and just like Katia, I both love and detest Marcus Tandem and his hot as sin body and manipulating mind.

Marcus Tandem is a destroyer. He’s a manipulator. He’s closed off and abrasive. Women are a convenience to him – they’re there for his pleasure only – love has nothing to do with any relationship he’s ever had, and he’s fine with that until he’s forced into a situation where he has to play a part he’s never played before or ever wanted to – husband. Marcus doesn’t want this title and his actions and attitude towards Katia, for most of the first book, solidify that idea. But nothing is ever cut and dry when it comes to matters of the heart, even one as unused as Marcus’ is, and while Marcus keeps Katia at arm’s length, she’s doing everything in her power to break down his walls and prove that the cold bastard has the ability to feel something other than malice. But that’s proving to be harder than she thought, and it’s leaving her a destroyed woman who gave her heart to the wrong man – the man who Marcus portrayed himself to be in order to get what he wanted without thinking about who he would ruin in the end.

I can’t blame Katia for getting into this situation with Marcus – he’s quite the actor, and before she realizes who he is under his façade, it’s too late; she already loves him, and as much as she knows she should leave him and start over, she can’t because there are times when Marcus lets his coldness thaw and the man who he becomes is someone Katia wants to spend her life with…he’s the man who feels and shows her he has a heart. Katia is not a naïve heroine nor is she a pushover; she’s just in love with the wrong man.

Marcus and Katia’s story is far from over, especially with that cliffy of an ending. No matter how much Marcus tries to suppress this weird sensation he starts to feel at the end of part one, it’s definitely going to come into play in the continuation of their story. Marcus deals with some pretty bad men in his line of business, and there are rumblings of chaos soon erupting and based on some of the things that have been uncovered in this book, Katia is going to be a pawn in this deadly game, and Marcus is going to have to make a decision as to what’s more important to him – let’s hope he makes the right one.

A complimentary copy of the book was provided in exchange for an honest review.
