This is Book One in the Acts Of Honor series, the spin-off series to Men Of Honor. It’s told in dual POV, has an HEA with no cliffhanger and it can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend that you read the Men Of Honor series prior, as characters play recurring roles in both series.

Redeem. Atone. Amend. Reconcile.

Men of honor understand these concepts and do their best to ensure they live honorable lives, seeking justice and protecting those who need it. There are times, though, when honorable men are forced to take paths that make them question what kind of men they are and feel shame and self hatred. But that’s when they need a guiding force to show them the road back to redemption because it’s worth the pain and heartache when absolution occurs.

Logan Knight is definitely an honorable man; he’s one of the only people who can help Anna chase away her demons and no longer feel terror and shame by a man’s touch. But Logan has his own demons, namely his issues with his family’s standards of living and a mother who can’t take care of herself or her children. Logan steps up in big ways for those he loves, but in doing so, he’s forced to give up what’s become his EVERYTHING. But the whole idea behind redemption is fighting against the darkness and reclaiming a life that was always meant to be yours, and that’s exactly Logan’s mission through much of the text.

With the love and protection of men who would die for her, Anna has stepped away from the fear and shame of what happened to her 3 years ago, moving forward with the man she loves and relishing their connection. But when events occur that redefine her entire life, Anna finds the courage and the determination to help the man who owns her heart to find his way back to her and himself.

This is the first book I’ve read by K.C. Lynn, and I FLOVED it. A book like An Act of Redemption definitely needs both the hero and heroine’s perspective and that’s what readers get in Anna and Logan’s story, and it is spot on because it provides all of the insight they need to understand everything that’s occurring and the feelings that go along with all of the events.

K.C. does a fantastic job of expressing the depth of not only Anna’s bond with Logan but also the deep connection she has with Jaxson and the other men who saved her from the hell she had to endure. They are all her family, and they would willingly sacrifice themselves before anything happened to Anna again and that shines through in K.C.’s perfectly crafted scenes.

What I also love about An Act of Redemption is that the title is significant for more than just Logan and Anna. The idea of making up for past misdeeds is a lesson that everyone should learn. Whether it’s judging people by what they look like instead of who they are or hurting people deeply with words and actions, making amends should be the goal, and it’s one step in the process of conquering the world!
