Gloria’s Revenge picks up right where Gloria’s Secret left off…in the Grande Roue Ferris Wheel after a passionate ride and a romantic gesture from Jaime that has Gloria inwardly panicking. But like all heavy moments in the first book looks can be deceiving, and after Jaime back pedals with an off the cuff explanation, Gloria is destroyed and slowly begins to unravel, and unbeknownst to her, back in LA, a shady plan is threatening her company and her job.

Gloria’s control is tested and ultimately lost in many facets of her life when she returns to Los Angeles with Jaime by her side. Gloria has intense feelings for Jaime, but she refuses to continue to be just another notch on his bedpost, so she decides to distance herself from him, but Jaime is unwilling to let her go, and Gloria’s body has a mind of its own. Amidst their new “relationship,” news is filtering out that Gloria’s Secret’s stocks are plummeting, and her job as CEO is called in to question. Add in a past that Gloria is running from, a Chairman of the Board who wants her for more than her business skills, and a personal assistant who wants to get “personal” with the man she is in love with, and Gloria can barely make it through an hour without a meltdown.

Readers need to hold on tight to maneuver through the wild ride that is Gloria’s Revenge. A truly great story is one that has readers questioning everything until the very end, and Ms. L’Amour accomplishes this goal superbly. I thought from the very beginning of the story that Jamie truly had feelings for Gloria, but then his actions and comments made me question him as much as Gloria did. I also knew that Boris had to show up in the conclusion, but the way he did and what transpired took me off guard a bit. I was constantly adjusting my thoughts on everyone’s true goals in this story, which always makes for a great read!
Once again, Nelle L’Amour weaves a tale filled with love, loss, sex, drama, and angst seamlessly. Ms. L’Amour’s style of writing allows readers to be in Gloria’s mind as well as experience all of her highs and lows as she traverses through dangerous paths both personally and professionally. Her villains and her heroes/heroines are characterized in such a way that truly illustrates their true natures and makes readers fall in love with those who do good and want to throttle those who are devious. This series is a MUST read!
