Conflicted Love focuses on Teeny and Trip who were great secondary characters in Tattered Love. It was quite clear in book one that Teeny had a huge crush on Trip, but she knew it would ever only be one night because he was a one and done kind of guy. One drunken night of sex later, and Teeny’s pregnant with Trip’s baby, and he is the last one to find out because Teeny knows Trip’s not the kind of guy to settle down with one woman, and even if he did try to stick it out with her and his child, she felt it wouldn’t ever be real.
“He was doing the ‘noble thing’ and sacrificing his happiness and mine, for what? A lie. That’s all we would ever be, a lie.”
Teeny didn’t want to live that way because she had spent most of her life feeling unloved without a family to call her own; she didn’t even know if she wanted to keep the baby because of how she grew up with her clinically depressed mother. But, one ultrasound later and both Trip and Teeny want this baby.
“’Been a fuck up my whole life…but I swear. Teeny, if you let me, I’ll do this right. I’ll do this one thing right.’”
Even with the decision made to keep the baby, Teeny and Trip’s relationship is still tenuous. Teeny is an independent woman; she has been on her own since she was 16 years old, so she is used to relying on herself, and she doesn’t want to lean on Trip because she doesn’t want to fall in love with him because she believes he will never love her back. With this in mind, Teeny puts her defenses up around Trip and refuses to let him tear them down. But what she doesn’t take in account is Trip’s resolve to prove to her that he wants to be with her and the baby.
“Yep, I was gonna man the fuck up and get the girl.”
“Teeny was everything I always thought I didn’t want but needed all at the same time.”
But getting Teeny is easier said than done, and the push and pull of their relationship becomes too much for both of them. Can Teeny overcome her insecurities of being “enough” for Trip? Can Trip show his princess that he is willing to start over for her? You’re going to have to read Conflicted Love to find out!
I highly recommend this book and the Needle’s Kiss series. Lola Stark knows how to craft a story with the right amount of angst, steam, and banter. All characters in the series are expertly written to have multiple layers that are slowly exposed throughout the series, and when you get them all together, you can be assured of too much skin, information, and debauchery. Oh, and let me just tell you, I will never be able to hear “I’m a little teapot” without a big smile on my face! I bet by the time you’re done reading Conflicted Love, you will feel the same as me;)

“Don’t push me, Princess. I’m clear out of give a fucks and my dick’s so hard it could hammer nails. Move that sweet ass before I bend it over and fuck it into oblivion” I growled in her ear driving the point home with a quick swat to her ass.
Making sure her feet were on the ground I let go and stalked for the house adjusting my now very tight in the crotch jeans. I also didn’t miss the soft moan from Teeny before she cleared her throat and mumbled something about assholes and penis trucks then stomped up the sidewalk.
