SYNOPSIS
WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart—and her virginity—to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.
She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious—her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands—with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club—to give them a better life.
Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way…
REVIEW
**Arc was provided by author in exchange for an honest review**
Readers know that when they enter Joanna Wylde’s motorcycle world, it will be filled with action, drama, hot sex, crass bikers, and one tough heroine. In Reaper’s Property, we were introduced to the Reapers MC through Horse and Marie’s story, and in Reaper’s Legacy, Ruger immerses us even further, and as he teaches Sophie about what it means to be considered the “property” of a biker, we learn right along with her.
The premise of the book is quite interesting in itself. Sophie was actually Ruger’s step brother, Zach’s, girlfriend at the beginning of the story. Their first time together ends 9 months later with a beautiful baby boy, but their story is not a happy one, and Ruger steps in to help take care of Noah and provide a male influence in his life. I was curious as to how Ms. Wylde was going to immerse Sophie into the biker lifestyle when she really had no desire to be there.
Due to Sophie’s circumstances, Ruger moves her and Noah into his basement, but Sophie and Ruger’s unresolved issues and sexual tension threaten to consume both of them. Not only does Sophie have to deal with a hot alpha male who goes through women like she goes through underwear, but she also has to learn to accept the Reapers MC and the help they can give her, which is not an easy task. What follows is a push and pull between Ruger and Sophie on a number of issues. Can Sophie give herself to Ruger when he promises her nothing more than a good time? Is Noah protected from the dark nature of the motorcycle club? There are no easy answers, so Sophie is left in a state of uncertainty for much of the text, which definitely adds to the angst.
Ruger is a definite contender for a top ten book boyfriend. He exudes sex; he can make a woman’s panties wet by just one look or a short uncensored phrase about what he plans to do to her. Talk about HAWT! But what makes Ruger’s even hotter is his protective nature. He would take a bullet for any of his brothers, and he would rather die than have anything happen to Sophie or Noah. My only issue with him is that he thinks with his dick most of the time and his unwillingness to commit to Sophie is infuriating when he clearly has strong feelings for her. But somehow, Joanna Wylde writes her alpha males in such a way that readers can’t help but fall in love with them even when they want to strangle them.
Reaper’s Legacy is a wild and crazy ride; readers need to make sure that they jump on and hold on tight. The sexual tension between Ruger and Sophie is INSANE, and when they finally give in to their lust for one another, it is melt your panties good;) Between the chaos with the club, the wild times with the bikers’ old ladies, and the drama between Ruger and Sophie, Ms. Wylde delivers a fast paced, high intensity read that could make anyone want to find her own motorcycle man.
