If you’ve never read a book by Shayne McClendon, you are so missing out. Shayne is a phenomenal writer; you can tell by the characters she creates and the storylines she tells that she puts her heart and soul into her writing. Her stories are emotional reads that pull you into her characters’ worlds and refuse to let you go until she’s torn you apart and put you back together again. No topics are off limits…no situation is predictable. She writes with a no holds barred attitude, and she delivers each and every time with fantastic tales of love, angst, forgiveness, and redemption.
Yes to Everything is one of the first books I read by Shayne. It’s also the one I’ve reread the most and thought about long after I finished it. This book was also my first ugly cry…I mean flat out sobbing. At times, I didn’t think I could continue because I was gutted by events that occurred, and if I was having such a hard time getting over things, imagine how Shayne wrote it for her characters.
Brooke Kincaid is the heroine of Yes to Everything. She has not had an easy life. She raises her siblings and puts everyone else before herself. She has a heart of gold, and when she catches the break of a lifetime and joins a country duo made up of twin brothers, her life is forever changed in both good and bad ways. Along the road to stardom, she attaches herself to a cast of characters who ultimately become the family she always needed. Through her experiences, Brooke learns some extremely tough lessons that test her in faith in humanity as well as her faith in herself. Readers witness every aspect of Brooke’s life in their rawest forms; they walk through her struggles with her, sob in a ball next her when life throws a few curveballs that Brooke never saw coming, and feel uplifted at the end when she finally heals her heart and lives again.
This is a MUST READ book. It has everything a romance reader wants and needs. The main and secondary storylines are woven meticulously together to make the text flow smoothly despite the many twists and turns it takes. There is never a slow moment in the story because even the internal dialogue that pushes the plot forward is necessary to understand all that is happening. The sex scenes are beyond hot…they are passionate, toe curling scenes that will make you start panting and need to change your panties. The dialogue alone will have you hot and bothered. The males in this book are beyond alpha; they are what men are supposed to be like. They are the ultimate protectors and healers for Brooke and her two best friends. I can’t say enough about this book…you HAVE to experience this book…it’s not just about reading it – it’s about experiencing it because it is so rich and dense that you can’t do anything but live it as you read.
