Patience…it’s quite an ambiguous term. Usually, it focuses on one’s ability to slow down and not rush into things so quickly. For Jenna Ryan and Eric James, patience centers on sex, but not in the way one might think…a bet is made between Eric and his best friend, Declan that requires Eric to abstain from sex for 60 days, or he loses his most prized possession – his guitar. What Eric never thought about in making this bet is the will power it was going to take to not succumb to Jenna’s charms; he also never anticipated his feelings for her to run so deep so quickly. The question that readers and both Jenna and Eric ask themselves throughout the novella is will they have enough patience to not give in and win the bet?
I love when authors give their readers novellas on the secondary characters. A lot of the time, for me, the best friends of the main characters add so much to the storyline and even the enjoyment of the text. They provide readers with a different perspective of who their friends are as well as what is happening between them.
Jenna is a quick ass best friend. She’s quirky and sweet. She has tons of energy, and she always tries to keep a positive attitude about life and love. She 100% supports Quincy no matter what, and she is the one person Quincy can count on with all of the issues that surround her. Eric is the more serious of the two, and he is caught in a difficult position because both Declan and Brody are his best friends, and ultimately, one is going to lose the girl he wants. In the novella, readers see Eric reconsider his first thoughts about Brody’s actions due to his feelings for Jenna, which just goes to show that sometimes true love is more important that a stupid bet or a best friend.
Patience is a sweet, humorous, and sexy read that allows readers insight into Jenna and Eric’s relationship. It sheds light on how they got together, met the family, and how both of them deals with the sexual tension that monopolizes most of their time together. But what both Jenna and Eric realize is that in Eric’s acceptance of the bet, it allows them the time to really get to know one another…to notice everything that only makes them want to be together even more. Now, readers will just have to see if they have the patience to win the bet and each other.

Victoria’s Secret. Every girl’s friend and every guy’s dream. I’m on a mission to find something to drive Eric wild. Panties, bras, lingerie, thongs… how’s a girl to choose? I don’t have a lot to spend, so I’ve got to make it count.
“How about this one?” Quincy pops around the rack I’m staring at, holding up a sheer black negligee complete with a barely-there thong.
“Quince, I want to make him suffer, not give him a heart attack.” I smile as I imagine the look on Eric’s face if he saw me in that. It’s almost worth buying it. “That’s why we’re here instead of Frederick’s.”
Shrugging her shoulders, my best friend looks perplexed as she continues to hold up the pitiful scrap of material. “Sheesh. I’m just trying to figure out what guys like about this stuff.” She rotates it on the hanger. “I mean, why pay so much when they’ll just rip it off anyway?”
I almost swallow my tongue as I start coughing. “Rip it off? What kind of movies have you been watching, Quince?”
When her face grows red and she looks anywhere but me, my amusement turns to shock. She tries to hide behind the rack, but I’m not having it. “Oh, hell no, girlfriend.”
