Synopsis:

Take a risk. Do something drastic. Fall in love. When Amberlyn Reilly loses her mother, her whole world comes crashing down. Having been caretaker to her for most of her teenage years, Amberlyn is inexperienced in many aspects of life. She hasn’t had time to live, have fun, or enjoy even the little things. It’s only when a letter from her mother, asking her to fulfill three things, sends her off to Ireland to live a life she never thought possible that she begins to heal. Declan O’Callaghan was born and raised in Ireland and has his family’s legendary whiskey in his veins. He’s shy and not a fan of the pressure and spotlight that comes with his family name, or the title he was given at birth—the Whiskey Prince. Declan knows just what he wants and that is to take over the family dynasty, but when his father gives him an ultimatum, everything he’s worked for could come undone in the blink of an eye. With six months to get married, the reclusive Declan spots Amberlyn across a lake and instantly feels the need to know her. Soon, the two find themselves traveling down a path neither expected. However, like any road, there are bumps and side streets to derail them. Can Declan help find the pieces that will make Amberlyn whole again? And will Amberlyn stay or run when she learns of Declan’s deadline of marriage? Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20502460-whiskey-prince?from_search=true WhiskeyPrince_ebooklg

Fall in love

This is the advice Amberlyn Reilly’s mom leaves her with after she loses her long fight with cancer. Her mother’s guidance pushes Amberlyn to be brave and daring; two things she hasn’t been for quite some time or maybe ever, but her mom makes sure Amberlyn has every opportunity to spread her wings and do something for herself when she suggests that Ireland will be the fresh start Amberlyn needs to move past her mother’s death and live life to the fullest. Even though Amberlyn may be inexperienced, she tries to embrace her new life and put herself out there in order to have fun and complete the tasks her mom gave her. When Amberlyn meets Declan O’Callaghan, there’s an instant attraction; one she wants to explore. But there are complications to them forming any kind of relationship – Declan is the Whiskey Prince, heir to the family’s whiskey distillery, and his position comes with many demands. So even though Amberlyn sees him and treats him as a normal guy, Declan is anything but ordinary. Their feelings grow for one another as they spend more time together, and soon, Declan feels like he’s found his “one.” But can a normal American girl with little worldly experience fit in with a family who is held in high regard and has very clear expectations for who should be the Whiskey Princess? Will Declan get the girl and the family business, or will he have to choose between the two, forcing him to give up his happiness in at least one aspect of his life? Whiskey Prince is a sweet and romantic story that focuses on the idea of finding one’s own happiness, despite other people’s expectations or past betrayals. It’s about a girl experiencing a series of firsts and allowing herself to choose the path she takes. It’s about a man who has led a life of seclusion for many years finally standing up for himself and taking what he wants. It’s a book filled with Irish description and dialogue, which only adds to its appeal, and it’s a story that will have readers patiently waiting to find out what happens between Amberlyn and Declan in book 2, Becoming the Whiskey Princess.
