Title: Point of Redemption (Nordic Lords MC, #2)
Author: Stacey Lynn
Publication Date: July 30, 2014
Synopsis
Lies. Heartbreak. Betrayal.
No one knew the devastation of those three words more than Faith Winston and five years ago, she endured every one of them. All she wanted was to feel safe and marry the very man who promised to love her and protect her, Ryker Knight.
But growing up in the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, she should have known she couldn’t have a happy ending. Instead, her world became a nightmare. The bikers—her family—abandoned her, leaving her to crash without their safety net.
Ryker Knight has spent the last five years consumed with guilt, running from the ghosts that haunt him. That is until his past catches up with him the moment his brother needs his help. Returning home to Jasper Bay, he’s forced to face the same ghosts he was running from. Only to find that the woman he loved is trapped in a hell of her own, entrenched behind enemy lines —and it’s all his fault.
And even though Ryker’s life comes with priorities that he can’t – and won’t – turn his back on, he refuses to leave Jasper Bay until he’s found Faith.
But will she want to return to the life she’s always wanted even if Ryker is no longer capable of giving her what he once promised?

To Redeem: to set free; rescue or ransom; to save from a state of sinfulness and its consequences
For Ryker and Faith, the main characters in Stacey Lynn’s newest release Point of Redemption, the idea of being redeemed is a complicated idea. One sees himself as the man who went back on a promise…the man who, when things got tough, ran away without understanding everything that went down…the man who took innocent lives. And, while all of those statements may be true, Ryker’s also the man who wants to free the girl he lost and show her that she’s not the woman she was forced to become. The other sees herself as a pawn…a woman who is forced to use her body as payment…a woman who has nothing to give to anyone because everything’s already been taken away from her. But, Faith is also the woman who wants to be loved and saved by the one man who promised her the world.
Ryker and Faith’s road to redemption is not going to be an easy one. Not when a rival MC owns Faith, and the shame and regret they both have has been eating away at them for the last 5 years. But readers also know, just from a bit of insight in Book 1, that both Ryker and Faith are extremely strong characters who will fight like hell to protect those they love, and now more than ever, they need to step up for themselves and each other and save one another from the bad hands they’ve been dealt.
Ryker is a complicated man; his demons taunt him on a daily basis, and no matter how much he tries to put his life in Jasper Bay behind him, it still has a strong hold on him, and when Daemon needs him to come home, Ryker decides it’s time to stop running and face the past that torments him. Because readers get his first hand perspective, it’s easy to see the battle he’s having within himself as he tries to right his wrongs with not only Faith but Byron’s family as well. He’s tearing himself in two trying to be everything to everyone, but what he doesn’t realize is that he just needs to be the man Faith fell in love with and the friend to Meg and Brayden he promised to be. It’s a beautiful sight when Ryker takes back the control and does what he needs to do in order to feel redeemed. Ryker is such a great character; he’s passionate and fierce; protective and loyal, and to see how he transforms from the beginning of the text until the end is a great sight to behold.
Faith…she’s been dealt a crap hand in life, and she did the best she could to survive it. I can’t blame her for wanting to give up or putting on a front to protect herself. She’s been beaten physically and mentally for a lot of years, and she has nothing left to give anyone. To be able to get past what she’s had to endure is going to take a lot of help from those who truly love her; thankfully, Ryker and Liv will be there to help her every step of the way, so as long as she’s willing to accept the help and heal, she’ll make it out on the other end stronger and whole.
Point of Redemption is a fantastic story about love, forgiveness, and recovery. Faith and Ryker’s relationship is at the heart of the text, but the book also focuses on the Nordic Lords themselves and the steps they need to take to put their club back on track and rid themselves of at least one enemy. The story is gritty, raw, heartbreaking, and steamy; it’s a second chance romance that includes action and angst, and I can’t wait for the next installment.
