My name is Dominic Powers. My software engineering company, DPS, is one of the top 500 companies in the world. Conducting a search for my Personal Assistant brought an unexpected candidate straight to me.
I knew she was different as soon as she walked into my high-rise office. She exuded innocence and inexperience. Those are two things in a woman that normally don’t attract me, but I am apparently making an exception for her. She’s young and delicate – and I’m afraid she won’t make it in my world.
But the carnal man I’ve kept hidden deep inside me says I have to try.
She is my Sophia Vasco.
I am Her Dom.

Review
Dominic Powers’ last name says it all; he’s a man of precision, control, and authority. Dom’s dominant personality allows him to be the master of his life in all respects, but his life as a Dom has lain dormant for the past 18 months due to the events that occurred with his last submissive. Not only has Dominic not been involved in the Dom/sub lifestyle for the past year and a half, but he also has been on a self-imposed dry spell for that same amount of time. But that all changes when Sophia Vasco walks in to interview for the job as his assistant. Dominic has never mixed business with pleasure, but there’s something about Sophia that awakens not only his body but also his Dom tendencies.
Sophia Vasco is a natural submissive, but her knowledge of the Dom/sub world and her role as a sub has been twisted by her last Dom. Once Dominic decides to pursue a relationship with Sophia, he slowly teaches her by his words and actions what it’s supposed to be like, and soon enough, their feelings for each other grow into something more. But both Dominic and Sophia are harboring secrets; information that could possibly change the dynamics of their professional and personal relationship, and when those details finally come out, the end result has them both reeling, but for quite different reasons.
Her Dom is an erotically suspenseful read, and while I would have liked to have seen a few more scenes that illustrate Dominic’s true prowess as a Dom, his role as a healer and teacher of the BDSM lifestyle is realistically portrayed. I loved experiencing the softer side of Dominic as he helps Sophia learn to trust and open up again after everything that happened to her. He finally believes he’s met the woman who can truly be his forever, and that is definitely illustrated in his actions towards Sophia. Sophia is still a bit of a mystery to me. I need a bit more from her perspective to form an honest opinion of her. There is so much she’s unwilling to discuss, and I need to understand why and what it will cost her if she does open up about it all.
I suspect that with the events that occurred at the end of book one and Dominic’s response to them that readers are going to finally see the true Dom surface, and when that happens, everyone who has deceived and betrayed him is going to feel his wrath. But I also expect that things are not all that they seem, so it will be interesting to see how everything plays out between Dominic and Sophia when the truth is fully revealed.
