Author: Bella Jewel
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: September 15, 2014
Synopsis
“There’s never been a time I’ve cared about anything more than my club. Today that all changed. Today I got you.”
To truly understand a story; you need to start from the beginning, but to start from the beginning; you have to go back, further than just you. After all, our stories don’t start with us, do they? Our stories start with the person before us, and the person before them. We are created from the stories of those people – from their mistakes, from their achievements, from their love and their hate.
No one’s story is ever truly their own.
I tried to create my own story, my own path, and my own actions. I’ve seen things people only see in their worst nightmares, but I never let it beat me down. I never let it become who I was. I picked myself up, and I kept going. Everything was what it was.
There was no point analyzing what it could be.
Could be’s didn’t matter.
Until Maddox came into the picture. He saved my life. He changed my world; giving me the second chance some of us only dream about. There was only one thing missing in my second chance, and she was the reason I fought so hard to survive.
My sister.
My sister who is supposed to be dead, well, at least, that’s what I thought.
That’s what he told me.
Now is where my story changes, but to understand this story, you have to start at the beginning…where it all began…and before.
This story is the second book in a series. You can get the first book on all major retailers. (Precarious – Jokers’ Wrath MC Book 1)
This contains no cliffhanger and has a HEA. 18+
Review
Ever since I finished Precarious, I’ve been waiting to see what happens between Santana and Maddox, especially after Santana learned about a tryst she would have rather not known about, and readers were made aware of a secret Maddox is keeping from her that will likely destroy any chance at a real relationship between them. When Melancholy begins, Santana’s ugly past is exposed, and as the painful memories come out, readers learn about everything that she and her sister, Pippa, had to endure on the streets and with a guy who hooked Santana on drugs and put her in a situation that could have gotten her killed if it weren’t for Maddox. Maddox saved her all those years ago, and he continues to watch over and take care of her. But there’s more to his feelings than Maddox is willing to admit to Santana and vice versa, which is actually tearing them apart. The push and pull of their relationship is a dangerous game because if either of them pushes the other one too far, the damage may be irreversible. But that’s not the only volatile situation these two are contending with – someone is gunning for Santana, and they’ve already gotten too close, causing her to get hurt, and once their enemies learn of Maddox’s secret, things are only going to get worse. No matter how much Maddox and Santana love each other, if they can’t stop playing games and have each other’s back instead of going on the offensive every time something happens that they don’t like, they’re either going to destroy one another or put each other in the line of fire where there will definitely be no coming back from.
I love Bella Jewel’s biker books; she creates gritty characters and places them in intense situations where their only option is to fight like hell to save those they love and protect their clubs at all costs. Maddox and Santana are fantastic characters; they’re both strong and intense and know how to fight dirty when they have to…but, I seriously wanted to smack both of them. I get that they both feel like they don’t deserve the other one, but they definitely don’t handle situations like grownups, and while Santana’s impulsive decisions do make her seem like a child throwing a fit, Maddox could have prevented any of those incidences from happening if he just would have confessed how he felt. But regardless of how messed up everything seems to be between Maddox and Santana, one thing they are fighting together on is ending this biker war and bringing home those they love safely, and those scenes play out in true Bella Jewel fashion – danger, death, and destruction.
Melancholy is a crazy ride of hot sex, wrathful bikers, and kickass heroines. Nothing is easy in the Joker’s Wrath MC’s world, but when it comes to what’s theirs, they’re willing to do anything it takes to protect them in the only way bikers know how by owning them body and soul.

Teaser
He massages my clit harder until little bolts of lightning shoot through my body, erupting like tiny firecrackers. I scream out his name as the most intense, incredible pleasure takes over. I tremble on his body as he shifts me, laying me down onto the couch. Before I’ve even finished shaking, he’s between my legs, lifting my hips and pressing his mouth to my pussy.
Oh fuck.
“Maddox,” I plead as he breathes over my clit, not licking it, just teasing until it hurts.
“You smell so fuckin’ good, so fuckin’…good,” his voice is strained, like holding back is the hardest, most painful thing he’s ever done.
“Please,” I beg.
“Mmmmm,” he hums against my flesh and it radiates right to my very core.
