Synopsis
Welcome back to the world of Breakneck where Pyro continues to mourn the loss of Lana, ZZ’s twins drive him crazy, and the whole MC prepares for the birth of Braxxon and Winter’s child. Things are quiet and calm… Or so it seems.
Shadow’s secrets are slowly being revealed, leaving him powerless to stop the resulting havoc. With Tatiana hot on his trail every time he turns around, the tables have turned, and now, she has become his Shadow.
As Winter and Braxxon begin a hostile takeover of the BDSM club owned by Shadow’s best friend, the unthinkable happens, and the result is the worst bloodshed in Breakneck history. The torture, violence, and death caused by the carnage will have the entire MC reeling from the loss.
When Shadow finally decides to stop denying his feelings for Tatiana, he discovers it may be too late. The Breakneck family loss is far too great for Tatiana to think about her own feelings for the one man who has constantly resisted her.
Causing further drama for the Breakneck crew, the Russians step back into the picture. Whether they are friend or foe remains to be seen. And when Winter gets an unexpected visitor, it throws Tatiana in a fit of rage and rebellion.
Welcome back to the real world of Breakneck… where bloodshed and mayhem are to be expected.

Review
Crystal Spears and her Breakneck brethren are back, and they’re darker and grittier than ever before; demons from the past continue to threaten to eviscerate the tenuous calm that’s been created since all of their lives were torn to shreds by the Russians and the blowback that they brought with them. But for Shadow and Tatiana, there’s even more to get past in order for their relationship to get back on track, if that’s even possible with how much Shadow has pushed her away. Will these two finally give into their feelings for one another and take a chance at a relationship, or will Shadow be left to deal with his darkness on his own…afraid that his Sadist ways are too much for Tatiana to handle? Dive into Shadowing Me to find out.
Shadow is quite a complex character, and Crystal Spears gives readers an insider’s view at what makes him who he is. He’s a man full of rage, darkness, and the need to cause pain. But we also gain insight into is how he truly feels for Tatiana and why he’s keeping her at arm’s length when he would much rather be balls deep inside her giving them both pleasure and pain. There are many layers to Shadow, and Crystal Spears unravels him little by little, helping not only readers but Tea as well to truly understand the man behind this domineering and disciplined biker.
Tea’s grown up in the lifestyle, so she understands and hears more than she ever lets on, and that seems to help her handle Shadow and his hot/cold attitude slightly better. It doesn’t mean she’s okay with the treatment, and she lets that be known on more than one occasion. Tea sees past Shadow’s dark and tortured eyes and accepts him for who he is, kinky quirks and all, and she learns along the way that that pleasure/pain principle that Shadow lives by is one that truly frees her as well and makes her feel more alive than she ever thought possible. Readers witness Tea’s growth throughout the course of the text when she steps up more than once to defend herself and protect her family. She’s done being the little girl that everyone treats her as, and by the end of the story, it seems like she has the respect of almost every member of Breakneck.
It wouldn’t be a Crystal Spears book if the shit didn’t hit the fan in more ways than one in this story, and she definitely delivers the chaos and turmoil tenfold. What I love most about this series is that nothing is sugarcoated. Death and destruction exist in the Breakneck world and the grittiness and darkness of those terms is definitely demonstrated throughout Shadowing Me. But it’s not all bleakness because readers also get to see the no holds barred sexual side of the biker club and the fetishes and kink that the members like to experience.
I love this series, and Shadowing Me is a fantastic edition. Even though this is just the beginning part to Shadow and Tea’s story, it sets up who they are as individuals and what they hope to become as a couple. With everything that goes down in the text and where they are headed at the end, there’s definitely going to be some uphill battles for them, but if Tea has shown anything throughout the series, it’s that she’s a fighter who’s willing to work for what she wants, and Shadow is clearly who she wants and for that matter needs to make her feel alive.
