REVIEW

At the end of Lost in France, Rebecca’s personal life is in ruins, so being in Munich on business is exactly what she needs to try to get over her broken heart and move on from her affair with Alain – a situation that left her once again feeling like she’s never the ONE for the men she falls in love with, which is what she desperately wants to be and find for herself. But it’s also something that she’s starting to believe isn’t possible because she’s always surrounded by endless complications when it comes to the men she grows to have feelings for – they always end up being unattainable due to secrets they’re hiding, which then ends up destroying Rebecca and her quest for love even more. Through the world wind romances and stunning revelations, Rebecca’s boss, Maxwell Grant, has always been the one she desperately craves but can never have, despite his constant flirting and mixed signals. But when Max is finally ready to stop living a lie and tell Rebecca his secret, will she put everything on the line once again for a man who can do more damage to her than anyone before him, or will she walk away from him, knowing that it may be the biggest regret of her life?

I’ve been waiting for Max to get his head out of his ass and claim what’s been his for the taking for quite some time, so I’m glad that he finally realizes what’s been standing right in front of him. I never thought that Alain was the one for Rebecca. Despite how much she thought she loved him, there was never the same spark she’s always shared with Max. That doesn’t mean that Alain is out of the picture; he finally realizes the mistake he made by letting Rebecca go, and he wants her back, but it may be too little too late. Both gentlemen vying for Rebecca’s love still have their past to contend with as “Mrs. Grant” is not going to go down without a fight, and Alain’s ex-fiancée is looking for payback and wants him to suffer. Both Max and Alain are still dealing with the fallout at the end of Book 2, and it’s quite obvious that they’re going to be put through the ringer before they’re finally free of the she bitches that have had their claws in them for quite some time. What does seem to be pretty clear by the time No Regrets ends is that Rebecca has made her choice on the man who holds her heart, and even though their path isn’t going to be without its rough patches, she trusts that the love they share will endure as long as they can be open and honest with each other.

In No Regrets, Rebecca really comes into her own. She may have had her heart trampled on, but she’s not going to stop fighting for the things that she wants in life. She won’t blindly commit her heart again until she can trust the man she chooses to not break her, and while this is easier said than done, she doesn’t want her heart to get trampled again, so even if it means running, she won’t allow herself to give into her desires until it’s clear that the feeling is mutual.

No Regrets is a steamy and drama filled read that will leave readers impatiently waiting for book 3 to see how everything plays out. Jani Kay does a fantastic job of allowing readers to gain some understanding of both Max and Alain by getting their perspectives first hand, and even though they haven’t always made the best decisions, we can tell that the love they have for Rebecca is real. Readers also get to meet Rebecca’s sisters in Book 2, and the three beauties together are something to behold. Even though they are brought together for less than desirable reasons, Rebecca, Chloe, and Lily are all forces to be reckoned with, and men better watch out! Will Rebecca continue to live her life with no regrets, or will the media craze that now surrounds her life be too much for her to take and leave her running again? Readers will have to wait for the untitled Firebird Trilogy #3 for answers to that question and so much more.
