Readers first look into who Erik “Dash” Dashling is will have them panting for more and wondering what this wreckless and dangerous man will do to not only keep a job that’s made for him but the girl he’s willing to break all the rules for.
Because this is the first book in a serial, Shantel Tessier introduces the main characters and the troublemakers out to make their lives miserable and sets up the main conflict that will have both Dash and Tabatha questioning whether there can be anything more from their attraction. Readers don’t get too far into the plotline, but it’s made crystal clear who and what Dash wants and what he’s willing to do to get it.
Dash is definitely an interesting character. He’s lived his life on the edge, following his own rules, and while his inability to follow the law should get him into a whole heap of trouble, he always finds a way out of it with his smooth talking and deep pockets, and this time around, it might just land him a career where he can use his adventurous side to put him on top. Tabatha is a work in progress. She’s a smart mouthed and strong willed woman who fell for the wrong guy and ended up becoming someone she didn’t recognize. But that’s the past, and now she’s all about reclaiming her old self and putting her needs above all else.
If book one is any indication, there’s going to be a lot of complications and obstacles in Dash and Tabatha’s way, both individually and as a couple, but if the way they make each other sizzle is any indication of what they can be, their connection just might be able to overcome them….we’ll just have to wait for future installments to see how they handle it all.
