That’s what both Knoxville Tanner and Kelly Harris need in order to keep their worlds turning – to not let the past hold the reigns and force the darkness to consume them. For Knox, it’s a woman who destroyed him and forced him to build a wall around his heart, unable to trust any woman again. For Kelly, it’s a man who was supposed to love her and care for her, but he only took from her and made her feel vile and dirty, forcing her to distance herself from all men and reject intimacy at all costs.

In Cassy Roop’s Axel Hitch, readers get an insider’s look at Knox and Kelly’s relationship from the onset, which happens at the same time as Dom and Ashley’s – the couple of the first three books of the Celtic Knot series. Not only are readers privy to Knox and Kelly’s thoughts and feelings as they fight to give into their attraction to one another and ultimately lose, but we also are allowed an alternative perspective on the hell that Dom and Ashley went through and how it not only affected them but Knox and Kelly as well, both as individuals and a couple.

Knox is one sexy alpha. He is a Dom at his core; his need to be in charge has actually allowed him to live a pretty damn good life, but the one part of his life that has only been about release are his relationships with women. But everything changes when he meets the sexy redhead who makes him feel more than he’s ever felt for any other woman, even the one who broke his heart. Knox loves a challenge, and he definitely has his hands full with the feisty vixen who knocks him on his ass when she walks into his BDSM club.

Kelly is a sassy and sexy woman whose need for dominance makes her very selective in her choice of bedmates. When she was younger, her control was taken away from her, so she refuses to allow that to happen in her adult life. She uses men for what she needs and then discards them just as easily. Knox is not her usual type, which makes him dangerous, but her desire for him is not something she can control, and in order to have a real relationship – something she feels she truly wants with Knox, she’s going to have to fight through her fears and insecurities and be willing to be claimed by a man who could ultimately destroy her.

The push and pull of Knox and his Tinkerbell’s relationship plays out quite well throughout the pages of Axel Hitch, and it allows readers to understand why they both are the way they are due to their past demons and their current uncertainties. Their bond is not perfect, but it’s something that they both desperately need. Their physical connection has never been an issue – they are off the charts scorching when they give into their baser need for each other. It’s outside the bedroom and the BDSM club that needs work, and Knox and Kelly want to do the work; Kelly just has to be able to push past her fears and feel confident enough to take what she wants from the only man who can give it to her.

Cassy Roop is a fantastic writer who allows readers to be invested in the lives of her characters because she writes them down to their core and we can help but want to see them happy. Her storylines are complex and always keep readers guessing as to how it will all turn out with the twists and turns she inserts into them. Although the drama is more inside their relationship than any one outside issue, Knox and Kelly’s relationship still spirals out of control and they have to fight to be together. It’s another great read from a kickass series that I hate to see ending.
