At twenty-four, Clarinda James has lived a traumatic life. One of the last images she saw before losing her sight was that of her parents’ death. The nightmares of that time still haunt her every night.  Taken in at nineteen by her sister, Clary didn’t know there was going to be a price to pay, a price far greater than her blindness. It’s not until Blue walks into her life, she realises it’s possible to experience the joy of warmth. In her darkness, Blue will become her beacon, her guide. Little does she know that she’ll need to count on Blue more than she thought she would.
She has to…if she wants to stay alive.
Blue Skies is on the lookout for a woman. Always there to support his brothers, Talon and Griz, he’s not a stranger to the craziness of love or life. Nor is he a stranger to making it clear that comments surrounding his name are out of bounds. Despite the often effed-up situations his brothers find themselves in as a result of their women, he’s more than happy to settle down when he finds his missing piece.
After three weeks of seeing a gorgeous redhead in a café, he refuses to let the opportunity pass him by. Building a tentative relationship with Clary is no easy task; she’s damaged. It’s not until he discovers the truth behind her darkness that he willing lays claim to her. He is determined to protect her, no matter the cost. She is irrefutably his.

5 years of feeling like a burden

5 years of relying on other people to take care of her needs

5 years of darkness in a world that’s supposed to be experienced in color

This is what Clary’s life has changed to since she lost her eyesight and her parents in a horrific accident – one that still affects her, even in the blackness, due to her nightly nightmares.

All Clary has wanted since that life changing night is to return to her old life…to feel worthy of someone’s love…to be treated like the feisty woman she used to be, but all she has is her bitch of sister to rely on who makes it known any time she can how worthless Clary is and how much of a burden Clary is on her life.

Blue has watched three of his motorcycle brothers find the women of their dreams, and that is exactly what he wants, and he thinks he finally found it with a stunning beauty who seems to feel the same way about him, but when communication issues and an interfering sister prevent any real interaction between them, Blue feels like he’s back to square one, watching his brothers’ happiness with no hope of finding his own. Little does he know that fate’s going to make it so that he gets his chance with his fiery red head, and Blue’s going to do everything he can to keep Clary safe and make her know in no uncertain terms that she’s his, whether she wants to be claimed or not.

I absolutely adore Lila Rose’s Hawks Motorcycle Club series. The badass bikers and their kickass old ladies are fantastic, multifaceted characters who Rose allows readers to see in all their foul mouthed, take charge glory. They are so well written, and through their first hand perspectives, we understand all aspects of who they are and why they do the things they do and feel how they feel.

Clary is an amazing heroine whose life was completely altered by events that were out of her control, but as she slowly starts to take her life back with the help of the club and her guardian angel, Julian, she reverts back into the woman she’s always been, which only makes Blue want her even more.

I loved the slow burn of Clary and Blue’s connection at the beginning of the story and then as it takes off later on, readers see what Blue is willing to do to get the love of a good woman.

In true Hawks’ fashion, there’s a bit of chaos and drama to take care of and Wildcat and Hellmouth are still there to lighten situations with their tell it like it is attitudes and protect their own personalities.

I love the family feel of this motorcycle club and all who are involved one way or another with them. They have each other’s backs and they understand the need to protect what’s theirs at all costs.

Since I started the series, I’ve always loved Julian, and he plays a big role in Clary and Blue’s book, which only made me love him more. He’s an amazing character with one liners and pet names that having me laughing out loud anytime he speaks. I’d love to see a story about what he went through and how Mattie helped him live again.

Black Out is a fantastic addition to the Hawks Motorcycle Club series; it’s sweet and steamy with a bit of drama and suspense mixed in, and the uniqueness of the heroine makes it an intriguing read from the start.

I wholeheartedly recommend every book in this series!

I was born in Brisbane, Australia. My step-dad was in the Army, which caused us to move around a lot. We finally settled in country Victoria, Australia. I am the youngest of four children and I can say that I was spoilt a bit. I drove my mum crazy when I refused to eat meat at a young age. Now I live with my husband and two children, and I find myself regretting all the troubles I put my parents through because my monsters are just as picky as I was.

I started writing in 2013 and self-published the first of the Hawks MC Club series Holding Out. The next to follow was something different, I wrote Senseless Attraction, a YA novel. Soon I was back to the Hawks series with number two Climbing Out. I have more to write in the series, but there will be also be more novels in the humorous erotica genre, like Left to Chance, which is out now.
