Players gotta play.

Hate is like a poison. It contaminates everything.

So does doubt.

Even though I deny what I overheard, even though I insist it isn’t true, the seed of doubt has been planted. I can’t help but be tormented with the endless what-if’s that have taken over our lives.

Romeo and I were happy in love. The future stretched before us brighter than any star in the darkest sky. Now everything is broken. Literally broken. Romeo’s entire career is at stake, my entire future is threatened… and my past?

It’s coming back to haunt me.

To haunt us.

Romeo says we’re in this together and right now the only sure thing is us. But how far can a love so new be pushed? The lengths we will have to go to save each other puts everything at risk.

Romeo is a #player but how much of the game can one person play?

Review (1)

I have been eagerly awaiting #Player, book 3 in Cambria Hebert’s Hashtag series, especially with the ending of #Hater. Both Rimmel and Romeo have grown immensely throughout the first two books and have become a couple to be reckoned with, which is exactly the solidifying bond that they’re going to need to hold onto as they head into the high dramatics of a psycho stalker and whatever else Hebert throws their way.

#Player – the title itself has multiple meanings. It sheds light on Romeo’s old philandering playboy ways, and it also holds value in terms of his football career. But its true meaning, at least in my view, is the idea of someone who is constantly a work in progress – someone who is working towards something – always practicing and never giving up. If there’s one thing readers have learned about this power couple it’s that they’re fighters; they call their own shots, and they fight like hell when everything’s on the line, and that’s exactly where they find themselves in the conclusion of their story.

Rimmel has to be my favorite nerd ever because she’s so much more than that – she just needed the right person to get her out of her shell. Her intelligence is definitely a major part of her, but she’s also compassionate, strong, honorable, and she loves with ever part of herself. She’s been through hell and back, but she doesn’t allow it to define her. She has come a long way from the shy, lonely tutor girl that Romeo first met in book 1. She’s his lifeline…his everything…his biggest win, and she’ll never let him forget it.

Romeo – his growth over the series has been astounding. Cambria Hebert was spot on to give readers his point of view. His perspective helps us to understand him in so many ways that we would not get solely from Rimmel’s standpoint. He’s Rimmel’s one constant in the shitstorm that hits their lives in #Player. He’s a man who protects the woman he loves, and when his back’s against the wall, he only fights harder, working to get the result that he not only needs but that he demands of himself and those around him.

Hebert created a great college atmosphere as well as phenomenal main and secondary characters in this series, and I’m excited that she plans to continue it with Braedan’s book – big brother needs a reality check of the female persuasion, and if the female lead is who I think it is, he’s going to be in for a rude awakening.

This is definitely a series I would recommend one-clicking!

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than twenty books. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.

Besides writing, Cambria loves a caramel latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching movies. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chorkie (the real boss of the house).

Cambria has written within the young adult and new adult genres, penning many paranormal and contemporary titles. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense. A few of her most recognized titles are: Text, Torch, Tryst, Masquerade, and Recalled.

Cambria Hebert owns and operates Cambria Hebert Books, LLC.
