Review

What’s not to love about a hockey romance story? Especially with Sawyer Bennett’s writing style, fantastic characters, and hot as hell scenes!

That hasn’t been a Sawyer Bennett series or book for that matter that I haven’t enjoyed reading but I FLOVE her Cold Fury Hockey series.

Everything about this series draws me in and consumes me – the connection between her hockey alphas and their feisty heroines, the complicated back stories/current storylines, and the secondary characters make each book a MUST READ!

Two words – Garrett Samuelson

In Alex, he was the sidekick – the one with the quips to lighten the mood. But readers could tell that there was so much more to the philandering man than what we were shown and that’s exactly what Sawyer gives us in book two of the series.

Garrett oozes sex, dominance, and strength; his life revolves around hockey, parties, and women, and he isn’t ashamed of his actions, and he doesn’t plan on changing any time soon – that is until he meets Olivia Case and falls for the beauty. For Olivia, Garrett is willing to change his ways, and he proves himself to her time and time again, but there’s a risk in entering into a relationship when you’ve never had one before, and it’s further complicated when the woman you’re falling for could be taken from you before you ever really get started.

I absolutely loved Garrett and Olivia together. Despite what she’s going through, she holds her own with Garrett, her illness, and her reaction to all that is happening to her. She’s strong…a fighter, and I love that she makes Garrett do the chasing for once. Garrett and Olivia’s feelings for one another radiate off the pages of the text and prove how selfless they both are when it comes to the people they care about.

This is a book that has ALL the feels – readers will laugh at Garrett’s jokes and playfulness, cry for what they’re going through due to Olivia’s sickness and be angered by some of their decisions regardless as to the reasons for their actions.

Garrett is a phenomenal read, and it truly showcases Sawyer’s writing skills and her ability to create both lead and supporting characters who are essential to the storyline.

Bring on Zack’s story!
