I’ve been on a roll lately with sexy as sin rockstars who are way more than the rocker stereotype, and Jett Vaughn is definitely a man who is grounded and thoughtful despite the craziness that his success brings to his life.
In All Your Reasons, readers get the fun and flirty Jett, the guy who’s attracted to Presley and wants to make her his regardless of how hard Presley tries to push him away. The first book had Presley at the forefront, trying to cope with the end of her unhealthy marriage and her confusion and frustration over her burgeoning feelings for Jett, another rockstar. But in Be the One, Jett becomes the focus, and readers grow to understand why he’s the man he is and what’s at risk for him when he lets Presley into his heart.
Starting out any new relationship is difficult, but trying to build something when one person doesn’t have any experience being in one and the other one carries the baggage from her previous one can be a recipe for disaster, and when you throw in the groupies, the travel, and the media, it’s a wonder any relationships survive. But Jett and Presley are in it for the long haul and despite all of the chaos that surrounds them, their connection continues to grow and they learn how to meander their way through the landmines that seem to keep popping up with concerns to Jett’s band, Presley’s ex, and the miscommunications they have.
Jett hopes Presley will be the one, and Presley feels like Jett could be the one, but everything begins to fall apart and Jett reverts back to pushing people away, will Jett and Presley fight for their ones or be left to find another one?
The continuation of Jett and Presley’s story is filled with a string of highs and lows, which allows for a variety of emotions to be felt by readers as they experience those ups and downs with them and witness what those experiences do to the bond Jett and Presley share. Jett’s bandmates and his family are integral parts of the storyline of Be the One, and Jett’s relationship with each one of them is explored and allows readers a more well rounded understanding of all of the variables at play in Jett’s life. Because Jett goes through a lot with his band in the story, we get to know them fairly well and I for one can’t wait to see what’s in store for those sexy rockers.
Be the One is an emotional journey for Jett and Presley as a couple and for each one personally. Both of them realize a lot about themselves as they figure out how to be in a relationship, and Nina Levine does a great job of exploring what it takes to dance in the rain regardless of what life throws at you!
