I love J. Daniels’ writing and her characters are equally hilarious and sexy. I have to admit…I really didn’t like Brooke in the other books, so I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy her story, but I’m glad I read it because J. Daniels does a fantastic job of illustrating Brooke’s growth as a person and as a part of something that Brooke’s never had before – a part of a couple in an actual relationship.
Did Brooke get on my nerves – heck yeah – she was so hot and cold all the time that I couldn’t understand how Mason dealt with her, but then I took a step back and I understood Brooke a bit more and it made sense that she would be so conflicted about her feelings for Mason because she’s never thought about having more with anyone. To me, Brooke’s this flawed character who likes her life how it is and she doesn’t want anything more – at least she thinks she doesn’t – she is who she is and she refuses to change for anyone. She doesn’t care how other people view her promiscuous ways because she loves sex and she loves the feeling of being unattached…of getting a release that doesn’t come with complications.
But boy does Mason complicate her life!
Mason is the sweetest dirty talking alpha male I’ve read in a while. I love the route he takes to get Brooke to see what’s standing in front of her, and he doesn’t back down from that plan – does he make missteps along the way – of course he does, but he also recognizes them and works to make up for his mistakes.
And, I have to tell you if all male yoga instructors looked and acted like Mason, I would definitely sign up for a class or two, especially hot yoga;)
I’d definitely try it Mason’s way any day!
J. Daniels continues to dazzle readers with her steamy and complicated story lines and her over the top crazy and comical crew of characters who we just can’t get enough of – there’s just something about Daniels’ heroes and heroines that readers can relate to and they also provide quite a few laughs along the way.
I also love that readers get to hear a little bit from Joey – his relationship with Brooke is interesting because they hated each other at the beginning, but then slowly formed a connection, and he goes to bat for her on more than one occasion.
I really hope Daniels writes Joey’s story because his one liners and inappropriate behavior would be a riot to read!
But regardless of who is next up for Daniels, I know readers can’t go wrong one-clicking everything she writes!
