When a psychic tells Natalie Nixon her life is about to be upended by a mysterious stranger, she laughs it off. After all, she has everything she’s ever wanted—a successful bakery, the perfect boyfriend, and the keys to her dream house.

Who could possibly make her want to throw all that away?

Then Miles Haas comes back to town.

But he’s no stranger—they’ve known each other since high school. Plus, he’s only around for the summer, he’s still a shameless playboy, and he makes a living writing articles for a men’s magazine with titles like ‘Should You Bang the Boss’s Daughter? A Flowchart’ and ‘Butt Stuff for Beginners: A Field Guide.’

He’s not the man of her dreams, and she’s not about to abandon everything she’s worked so hard for just for a little fun. Except he makes her laugh like no one else, smells like heaven, and wears panty-melting glasses.

 Review

Some Sort of Crazy is a realistic look at how two people can seemingly want very different things in their lives, but somehow, due to their connection…what they give and get from one another, they can’t imagine not having each other in their lives and what that leads to is a whole lot of sex…a significant amount of growing up…and heroine who just might have found the live she’s always wanted by veering off her planned path.

Readers will absolutely relate to Natalie Nixon and her sensible and responsible lifestyle; she thrives on order and control, stubbornly following all of her decisions until the very end, which in most cases allows her to follow her dreams and her passion, but in one aspect of her life, it’s slowly impinging on her happiness.

Enter Miles Haas

Miles is everything that Natalie is not – he lives for fun, never allowing feelings into play, focusing, instead, on living free and easy with as many women and good times he can pack into the hours of the day.

Both Natalie and Miles seem unwilling to bend or change, refusing to acknowledge that their sex only agreement isn’t enough. Because regardless of their minds telling them anything more between them is impossible, their bodies and their hearts seem to disagree, causing Natalie and Miles to wonder if cataclysmically altering their lives will give them the happiness they thought they already had or if it will not only mess up a friendship but destroy any hope of a future with anyone else, even for fun.

I absolutely love Melanie Harlow’s characters; they’re definitely flawed, but they also epitomize the various types of personalities and attitudes that exist in our society. Sometimes people refuse to see what’s right in front of them, never acknowledging that their life plan might actually be a mistake and that everything they thought was wrong for them is actually what they need to feel alive.

Some Sort of Crazy is a fantastic story about giving into what your body craves even if your head doesn’t agree; it’s about freeing yourself from a plan that doesn’t seem to end the way you wanted and finding the courage to make a decision that may completely upend your life, but it will be one hell of a journey on the way.

Everyone needs a little crazy some time!
