my soul, and a life without each other is not an option.
Sometimes, though, even the strongest bonds are tested.

Ambition. Passion. Commitment.
As we chase our dreams, distance separates us, threatening to shake our
foundation. Jealousy and insecurities unravel my confidence, but Bryce’s
devotion never falters. When we’re faced with tough choices regarding our life together, I’m forced to rely on his unwavering strength.

Staying on Course is the perfect title for Devon and Bryce’s conclusion because it implies that there is a definite path they’re journeying down, but that the road is sometimes tenuous due to external circumstances, forcing both Devon and Bryce to remain strong despite the distance, the jealousy, the miscommunication, and the time spent apart.
Devon’s character will both endear and frustrate readers due to some of her actions and her inability to think clearly at times and see the big picture of Bryce’s devotion to her and their life plan. But she’s inexperienced when it comes to relationships, and Bryce has been the object of her affection for so many years that I’m sure the reality that he is actually hers is a bit hard to grasp at times. One thing I absolutely love about Devon is that she does everything she can to be her own person and follow her dreams/passions despite her insecurities. She’s so talented and a career is important to her, which keeps her in check for the most part because that’s one path she will follow until the end.
Bryce’s devotion to Devon and the love he has for her is truly amazing. He knows he messed up in the past and he’s aware of what’s at stake and refuses to do anything to jeopardize his relationship. With every word and action, readers can tell how much Devon means to Bryce and how much he wants to give her the world and show her that she’s his.
Quinn brought humor into the story and helped ease the tension on more than one occasion. I love how much of a straight shooter she is; she’s Devon’s rock and she proves that she deserves the title of best friend on numerous occasions.
I’ve always loved how Ahren Sanders’ writing flows; it feels almost seamless, and it’s quite easy to become absorbed with her stories because there’s no unnecessary content. I will admit that Devon kind of annoyed me at the beginning, but then I had to remember her age and what she’d already been through with Bryce, which made it easier to accept and see it from her perspective. The angst wasn’t over done, but there’s always insecurities and issues with a long distance relationship and there can be outside forces threatening it, so the drama was necessary to prove how solid Bryce and Devon are and what they’re willing to do to prove it.
Staying the Course’s Epilogue is perfect because it shows how all of the couples readers have grown to love end up, and because Quinn and Nate are in the book so much, it’s awesome to see their future lives.
Bryce and Quinn’s story is packed full of emotion, love, and steam. The love they have for one another resonates off of the pages with every physical and emotional encounter. By the time the story ends, there’s no doubt that they belong together and are worth the pain and heartache because their happiness begins and ends with each other.

Ahren spent her formative years living in an active volcano. There her family made collectible lava art. She studied rock collecting at the Sorbonne in France. There she met the love of her life-her pet pig Sybil. She returned to the states and started writing. She is happily married to a guy who used to live under a bridge and she met while pole-dancing. They have one amazing daughter.
Now, meet the real me. I grew up in the south and consider myself a true “Southerner”. Most of the special locations mentioned in my books are reflections of my favorite places. Living on the Florida coast, my family spends a lot time at the beach which is where I usually can be found with a book in my hand. I started writing my Surrender Series, in the spring of 2013 and have received incredible support from the Indie community. Throughout this year, I have been privileged to meet some amazing people that I am thankful to have in my life.
