Pucked Over Summary

Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong?

NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene.

But casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to get pucked over.

Review

Holy Balls! The zinging one liners and Violet’s verbal diarrhea were in abundance in Randy and Lily’s book, which was exactly the type of raunchy read I needed after a few heavy hitters. But while the banter and sexy times are filled with hilarious and steamy moments, there’s also another side of Pucked Over – one that’s deeper than dealing with puck bunnies, casual flings, and bathroom hook ups. Both Randy and Lily have anxieties when it comes to relationships, and even though their concerns are actually on the opposite end of the spectrum – one doesn’t do relationships and the other doesn’t really know how to do casual – their issues come from their parents’ inability to be the type of fathers/lovers that served as positive role models for their kids.

Randy “Balls” Ballistic is definitely the manslut hockey player the puck bunnies describe him as, but he has real reasons for not wanting to be in a relationship, sticking with no strings and no obligations because he refuses to screw over someone like his father did to his mother. But after the shopping spree he’s had at Lily’s Vagina Emporium, Randy’s finding he only wants what Lily can give him, which scares the hell out of him, but hell if he can stop himself from wanting a permanent place in Lily Land.

For years, Lily’s life has been comfortable, predictable, and ordinary, working two jobs and being a part of an on again off again relationship that made her feel insecure more than anything else due to Benji’s mistreatment. But while Randy may be a fantastic distraction and a whole lot of fun, Lily’s never done casual, so the rules of the game aren’t something she’s familiar with, and despite her desire for Randy’s “trouser anaconda,” she doesn’t know if she can keep her emotions out of it, which is something he’s made clear are not a factor in what they have between them.

I can’t get enough of Helena Hunting’s Pucked series – amazing characters, witty writing, and story line hooligans make each story a hilarious and highly entertaining experience because let me tell you, when you read one of these books, you definitely EXPERIENCE it – you don’t just read it because the way it’s written requires your full attention – with everything that’s going on with Violet and Alex, Sunny and Buck, and Lily and Randy, not to mention Lance, there’s a whole lot of inappropriate antics, a bit too much oversharing, and a whole lot of sexual nicknames that will require readers to keep a running list of new terminology as well as see through all of the crazy to understand what’s truly at the heart of each one of the couples’ true feelings.

Readers definitely need to experience Pucked, Pucked Up, and then Pucked Over; each one is a wild and crazy ride that’s worth a sore belly from laughing and sore cheeks from smiling!

Summary

With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.

Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game

Summary

Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.

Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he’s going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.
