Dare Me, Saige and Holt’s story, was my first read by Rebecca Shea, and I really enjoyed the storyline and the dual point of view, and even though I figured out the plot twist at the beginning of the story, I loved watching it unfold and anxiously anticipated Saige’s reaction when the lies surfaced. But this book is about so much more than the truth coming out; it’s about witnessing a man who takes the sins of his father on his shoulders and vows to make things better; it’s about a woman who has worked hard to overcome her past and live out her father’s dreams as well as her own; it’s about a relationship that was never meant to happen but one that couldn’t be more perfect because Saige and Holt give one another what they truly need, and despite how quickly their connection grows from lust to love, they are under each other’s skin, daring each other to take a chance and see if what they have is worth the risk.
At the end of Dare Me, Holt, Saige, and readers will all be able to answer the question is the DARE worth it? It will just be up to each of them to decide if things went too far and if there’s any way to get past the betrayal.
