Love shows no mercy and neither does the truth, so as Zeek’s reign as president of the Sin City Outlaws is suspended by his actions and those of his Uncle Frank, Zeek and Jillian go on the run and try to figure out how to get through the chaos that was created by their relationship, by their choices, and by Frank’s reign of terror on both of their lives.
“You’re going to have to get your hands dirty if you want to clean them.”
No truer words could have been spoken to explain what Jillian is going to need to do in order to reclaim her position as sheriff and get to the truth of what her father was truly up to all of these years. Since Zeek epitomizes the dirty outlaw, he’s the perfect instructor to teach Jillian how to go around the law and even break it so that they stay safe on the run and get the help they need to take Vegas back from a man with no conscience and a thirst for power and blood.
M.N. Forgy illustrates how conflicted Jillian is about the man she loves and why she no longer trusts him. Jillian struggles with her tortured feelings for Zeek for the majority of the first half of the text, which fits with Jillian’s true nature to do the right thing and stand up for justice and truth. But as their story continues and Zeek proves over and over again how every decision he makes and risk he takes is in order to keep Jillian safe, she starts to understand the depths of his feelings for her and that her truths…her beliefs may not be as black and white as she thought they were.
Zeek has definitely been changed by his love for Jillian, but it doesn’t mean that he’s changed from the badass criminal outlaw that he’s always been – he just has something worth fighting for even more than his club. Zeek reigns his wrath down on anyone who threatens Jillian, and he even goes as far as to seek the help from the one person and his club that would be more than happy putting a bullet in Zeek’s head.
Zeek betrayed his club, and Jillian betrayed the code of a servant of the law, but in doing so, they both found the one person who has their back no matter the situation, and as long as they can stay alive and not kill each other with their venomous words and lethal moves.
Reign is the perfect conclusion to Zeek and Jillian’s story. It’s raw, gritty, and eye-opening in the sense of how deep the corruption reigns in Vegas. I loved the scenes with Zeek and Jillian and Lip and the Devils Dust MC members – there’s a lot of turmoil due to Zeek’s past actions, but readers will revel in how these men get over their shit and work towards a resolution. Mercy is more emotional and darker than Reign, and the sex is definitely amped up due to the tension and mistrust between Zeek and Jillian. I definitely hope readers haven’t seen the last of the Sin City Outlaws because all the issues have not been resolved and there are a few other members who I’d like to know better.

“Just—Just get in the shower,” he mutters, pulling back the shower curtain.
“Why are you doing all this?”
A pensive look crosses his face. “All of what?”
“This!” I wave my hands around. “Holding that nice old couple at gunpoint, in here with me. All of it?”
His eyes rake over me, and he shrugs. “So you could shower.”
“So you kidnapped a little old couple so I could shower?”
“Yep!”
It’s wrong, so wrong. Yet, I feel my chest tighten with longing and adoration. I like it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? I can’t help my attraction to him. His stare is cold, his calloused hands rough, but his draw is soft and alluring.
“You going to get in?” He flicks a brow at me.
