Review
The Burke Brothers are my absolute favorite group of filthy mouthed, alpha males. Conner, Tate, Aidan, and Kye are extremely talented, sexy, and driven individuals who had me frustrated, swooning, and hot and bothered on numerous occasions throughout their books. Their sister, Leila, plays a pivotal part in each of the brothers’ stories, giving her advice to and having the backs of their women and forcing her sass and sailor mouth on anyone who needed a kick in the butt. When Emma Hart announced that Leila was getting her own story, I couldn’t have been more excited because I knew Leila’s journey was going to be a wild and dirty ride simply because she wouldn’t want it any other way! And, the fact that a “Hot Brit” is the man tasked to tame the sassy southern girl made the book even more intriguing because who wouldn’t be a goner for a sexy, accented man?!
The girl who’s used to living in the shadows of her famous brothers finds herself thrust into the spotlight once again, but this time, it has nothing to do with her brothers or their music; it has everything to do with a certain “potential international superstar” who fate just happened to bring back into Leila’s life and turn it on its side when she realizes that even if she “grounded her vagina”…even if hooking up again is a bad idea…even if she has issues with the media storm that comes with being with someone famous, there’s something about Jase Masters that calls to her and it’s not just his god-like body.
Jase Masters is absolutely swoonworthy, and he’s a master at owning every inch of Leila’s body with his smooth caresses, filthy mouth, and impressive physique. But it’s not just her body that Jase wants, and despite their need to keep everything a secret and the major distraction that Leila brings to Jase’s career, they move beyond friends with benefits, but what exactly that means is unclear because there are a tremendous amount of variables to consider – one being Leila’s four brothers and their need to ensure her heart remains guarded.
Emma Hart does a tremendous job of conveying every aspect of Leila’s personality through her storytelling and Leila’s internal musings. Leila is a strong willed, feisty, and hilarious woman who puts up a good front about not allowing her emotions to consume her, but she also realizes that what she feels for Jase might just be worth the risk.
One attribute that Leila has that spoke to me is her love of reading. When Leila explains to Jase what reading is and what it allows her to do, I knew Hart was exposing her own thoughts and those of avid readers, and the way that scene is written is enlighteningly beautiful.
Dirty Little Rendezvous is exactly the story I envisioned for Leila. It’s sexy. It’s sweet, and it showcases just how much of a force to be reckoned with Leila Burke is. In true Hart fashion, Leila and Jase have to deal with a few roadblocks as they figure out who they want to be to each other, but as that contemplation occurs, they still move forward by getting to down one another on more than just a carnal level, which proves to them as well as readers, that what Leila and Jase give to each other is reason enough to fight through the bullshit and give a real relationship a chance.
Once again, Emma Hart has wooed me with her words and her characters. There’s a playfulness between Leila and Jase that resonates off of the pages, and one way that connection is illustrated is through the steady stream of British/American words that both confound and enthrall them. I seriously could listen to their banter forever because it’s a clear indication that they “get” each other, which is exactly what the Burke brothers have always wanted for their younger sister.
A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Excerpt
He’s so close that my eyes shut, but I force them open again, only because I want to see how green his eyes really are when the sun glances over them.
“The British are idiots,” I mumble, unable to form any further words—or any that are more coherent than those.
“Truth. If only because I can taste your lips and I haven’t touched them yet.”
“I think that makes you real—”
He cuts me off by doing exactly what he just mentioned—touching my lips with his. It’s the exact same as this morning, just fresher, almost. Realer. They’re heated from the sun, chilled from the wine we had at the bar around the corner not thirty minutes ago, and…softer.
Softer—yeah.
Hesitant yet somehow forceful.
Unsure yet oddly certain.
Mesmerizing. Consuming.
I grasp his shirt in my hand, wrapping my fingers in the soft material, as he moves closer to me and his other arm snakes around my body. He pulls me against him, and I slide along the wooden seat, my heart thundering in my chest.
I’ve been here for twenty-four hours.
I don’t want to stop.
I don’t want to change this.
I don’t know what’s happening.
I can’t feel my toes because they’re curled so hard. I can’t feel my fingers because they’re gripping him so tight. I can’t feel my lips because I’m kissing him so firmly.
I can’t feel my heart’s beats.
It’s beating too solidly, too firmly, too quickly, too erratically, for me to get a handle on it. My stomach is flipping and my lungs tightening and I swear to god, I’m consumed.
Jase.
Twenty-four hours.
A guy I’ve met once before last night.
And I’m consumed.
I’m scared.
I pull back from him, just our mouths, for just a second, before he pulls me right back in. I’m compelled to continue kissing him, and I wish I weren’t, but it’s as though a year never passed and I’m right back in London with the boy from the coffee shop.
I feel the way I did then. Racing heart when he kisses me, tingling skin when he touches me, butterflying stomach when he looks at me…
Except this is no coffee shop.
This isn’t London.
A year has passed.
And he’s not just a guy trying to figure out lyrics.
Not anymore.
He’s a potential international superstar, loved by possibly millions, obsessed over by far more. His lyrics could be written for him. His music produced for him. His schedule organized for him.
And I’m just a girl living in the shadows of her famous brothers, happy for a quiet life by the beach, where the loudest scream is that of the ocean crashing against the rocks that dare break the perfection of the sand.
Author Bio
By day, New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author Emma Hart dons a cape and calls herself Super Mum to two beautiful little monsters. By night, she drops the cape, pours a glass of whatever she fancies – usually wine – and writes books.
Emma is working on Top Secret projects she will share with her followers and fans at every available opportunity. Naturally, all Top Secret projects involve a dashingly hot guy who likes to forget to wear a shirt, a sprinkling (or several) of hold-onto-your-panties hot scenes, and a whole lotta love.
She likes to be busy – unless busy involves doing the dishes, but that seems to be when all the ideas come to life.
