The thing about the past is that it still controls much of a person’s present and future regardless of how hard s/he attempts to move on, and when what occurs takes one’s love and passion away, it’s so difficult to not dwell on what might have been and move forward without a vital piece of his/her heart and soul.
June Mayson and Evan Barrister fell in love quickly and made a decision without thinking of the repercussions. Consumed with joyous and heartwarming feelings, they entered into a secret marriage, and then, without warning, June was left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and try to understand why Evan no longer wanted her when he still remained vital to her life. And although June has done her best to move on…to open her heart to someone else, her choices have continued to lead her astray, and now have forced her to come to face with her past and confront her feelings for a man who threw her away – the same man who is fighting his demons and who is working to fix himself in order to get back the person who made him whole…June.
What I adore most about Aurora Rose Reynolds stories is that she always brings the boom…her hero and heroine seem to know from the start that their lives are destined to be connected and the alpha male fights like hell to prove that their instant attraction and connection can last a life time.
In Until June, Reynolds brings the boom twice because once wasn’t enough for Evan to truly see that he was worthy of June. But all he needs is a second chance to prove to June that despite the fact that he shattered her heart, he’s the only one who can heal it, and regardless of their time apart, she’s always been his.
Things move fast once June and Evan confront their issues, and while I wish they had gone a bit slower and completely opened up to one another in order to heal old wounds, it does make sense that they would go at warped speed because their relationship was already established – they just needed to get back the trust that was lost and realize that they are most at peace and most grounded when they are together.
Until June continues to showcase Aurora Rose Reynolds ability to create steamy and emotional stories that add just the right amount of suspense to keep the plot moving forward while allowing the characters to prove that they belong together despite the past and despite the fear that may still linger.

Seeing Evan again is taking a toll on me, I can’t sleep and my mind is in a constant state of turmoil. I wake up in the middle of the night from dreams of us. The memories of him, of us are too much. Some memories have the ability to heal. The ability to light up the dark because the beauty of the memory is so bright you’re still able to bask in it.
But the memories of us are killing me slowly. They remind me that for one moment I had everything while reminding me it’s gone. It’s the realization that we’re done that’s killing me. The realization that I can see him but can’t touch him that he exist but he’s not mine is agonizing.

He’s beautiful his body is a work of art I want to touch him, I want to know what It feels like to have his bearded face against my delicate skin, I want to know if the rough edges I now see are smooth to the touch.
“June.” My name in his course tone gets my attention but when our eyes meet its not anger he’s looking at me with, its raw, powerful, hungry possessiveness.
