From New York Times bestseller Katy Regnery comes another timeless tale of love everlasting!

Loosely inspired by the legend of Camelot, Dark Sexy Knight tells the story of dinner theater knight Colt Lane, who meets down-on-her-luck Verity Gwynn on the worst day of her life. Evicted from their home, Verity and her special-needs brother, Ryan, must find jobs or risk being separated. Colt, who is the furthest-possible thing from a white knight in real life, comes to their unlikely rescue, quickly cementing his place in Verity’s heart.

Colt has dark, deeply buried secrets that keep his smile hidden and his eyes down, which has kept people away . . . until he meets Verity, who seems immune to his gruff manners and taciturn ways. The more time Colt spends with her, the more he longs for her sweetness in his life and yearns to be the knight in shining armor she so desperately needs. Certain he will lose her if she learns the truth about his past, he must decide if he can trust her with his yesterday in order to build a beautiful tomorrow.

**Contemporary Romance. Due to profanity, mild violence and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

Review

I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to read one of Katy Regnery’s books. I’ve heard so many wonderful things about them, but I just couldn’t find the time to fit one into my schedule. But when I saw sign-ups for Dark Sexy Knight, I knew I had to make room in my review schedule, and I’m so glad that I did!

Colton Lane may only play a knight for The Legend of Camelot Medieval dinner theater, but to Verity Gwynn and her mentally disabled brother, Ryan, he is every bit the defender and protector of those in need. By helping Verity and Ryan secure jobs and put a roof over their heads, Colton becomes their hero…their knight in shining armor because no one has ever looked out for her; it has always been her job to take care of herself and her brother after their parents died, which is an incredibly difficult task with a special needs sibling and nothing but bad luck since becoming Ryan’s guardian.

Colton understands Verity’s worries better than most, so while he doesn’t want to get involved with her or allow her to become someone important to him, he can’t help himself because Verity’s the soothing balm he needs to calm the rage and anger that lives inside him; she soothes the beast within and brings light and meaning to his life that he’s never had, and despite the complications his feelings for Verity will bring to his life, Colton’s not willing to give her up because she’s his chance for a life he never thought was possible.

Dark Sexy Knight is contemporary romance at its finest. It’s a love story on multiple levels because it portrays the love between a man and a woman…between family members…and between those who may not be blood related but are every bit as important as if they were. Colton and Verity’s story also delivers meaningful lessons about how people, regardless of their differences or disabilities, deserve to be treated and why any mistreatment, although it seems quite prevalent in society, shouldn’t be accepted or tolerated.

Katy Regnery’s romantic writing style and well-developed and passionate characters can make any reader believe in fairy tales, and because Regnery seamlessly blends fictional elements with real world issues and delivers a story that captures readers’ hearts as well as provides insight into who people are at their core and why seeing beyond the exterior allows people to shine, every reader can learn something about life and love in Dark Sexy Knight.
