Book Description
Seduce the teacher.
Meet the cousin.
Make a deal.
Steal the painting.
Andrea Anderson has no clue of the thoughts churning around in the dark and dangerous ex-con’s head as he enters her classroom. In fact, she’s momentarily lost for words. Not in her entire teaching career has she had a student who looked quite like Stu Cross.
A widow at just twenty-eight, love is something Andie hasn’t considered a part of her life for a very long time. However, when lingering touches turn to whispered words and hot, searching stares, she begins to wonder if maybe she should take a leap of faith.
But Stu is in her class for a reason, and it has nothing to do with love. He’s there to burrow his way into her life and repay a debt, otherwise his family will suffer. Andie is the first person to show him true kindness since he left prison, and though he doesn’t want to mislead her, he doesn’t have another choice.
Before long, Stu can’t tell whether or not he’s acting anymore, and his feelings for Andie could throw all of his carefully crafted plans into complete and utter disarray.

Review
Andrea Anderson had her heart stolen at a young age only for it to be destroyed due to the death of her husband, and from that moment on, she’s chosen to live her life helping others, encouraging them to achieve their potential while never focusing on herself or her issues.
Stuart Cross has a shady past of thievery and incarceration, and as part of his parole, he signs up for Andrea’s adult education course, and even though he has ulterior motives for getting “friendly” with his teacher, the connection he has with her is something that neither of them can deny regardless of its inappropriateness and how much it complicates Stuart’s plans to protect his family.
The teacher/student dynamic forces Andrea and Stuart to hide their attraction from everyone, and Stu’s secret mission threatens to destroy any progress they’ve made in how they feel about each other because there are still details Stuart refuses to expose, leaving their relationship on rocky ground and forcing Andrea to take a leap of faith and give her heart to another man who could very well steal it and leave her heartbroken again.
I absolutely love L.H. Cosway’s Hearts series because her storytelling allows readers to truly understand the main characters and her unique plotlines make for intriguing reads. Andrea is quite the contradictory character, which makes perfect sense due to her age and all that she’s been through in a short amount of time. As a person and as a teacher, she’s compassionate, caring, and giving, but she has a hard time looking at herself and what’s become of her life since her husband’s death.
Stuart is the perfect teacher to free Andrea from the past, allowing her to feel alive and put herself first for a change, and despite the true reason behind Stuart’s initial interest in her, he truly sees who she is inside and does his damnest to prove his worth to her and to prove that she is everything he wants and needs, even if he doesn’t deserve a second chance.
L.H. Cosway’s stories have a lyrical feel to them because she understands which qualities are necessary in storytelling and she masters them. I get so immersed in the worlds she creates because her word choice and sentence structure seamlessly work together to keep readers intrigued.
Thief of Hearts is a fantastic addition to an exciting and thought provoking series, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Trev and Reya!
