Run.
He told me to run. So I ran.
It turns out just because you run from something, doesn’t mean it can’t find you.
He’s coming for me.
He wants what I hold closest.
He wants to lie, manipulate and use me.
He wants me to betray him.
Rafael.
Leader of the Italian Mafia.
Love of my life.
Father of my child.
He’s going to make me do the unthinkable.
There is no way out.
I’m trapped and about to make the biggest mistake of my life.
I’m running full throttle towards an oncoming train, and there isn’t a single thing I can do to stop it.
I’m going to become what I was most afraid of.
A monster.

Review
What would you do for the people you love?
Maybe the better question is what wouldn’t you do?
For Julietta, the answer is NOTHING – there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her newborn baby, her father, or her mother, and for that very reason, she becomes a pawn in a very deadly game – one that forces her to lie, to betray, and to go against everything she believes in simply because she doesn’t have any other choice.
9 months – that’s how long Julietta has not seen the man who owns and broke her heart. In that time, she’s had Rafael’s son and has also learned that the sins of the father and sometimes the mother always fall back on their children. Julietta has gone from being a mistress…a plaything to a monster who must plot against the only man who’s ever made her feel alive – the man who gave her the most precious thing in her life – her son.
Amore 2 is very much a game of cat and mouse, and sometimes, it’s difficult to figure out which one is chasing the other and which one will come out ahead when all of the plays have been made.
Bella Jewel does a good job of keeping readers wondering how it will all work out for Julie, Rafael and their son, and I love the cameos from Marcus and the Jokers’ Wrath MC members and their significant others. The circumstances that Julietta finds herself in is exactly what the club wants to protect people from, so knowing they had Julie’s back made me believe that it would all work out somehow.
The lead up to the end was filled with high tension and anxiety, which kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could, but I have to admit that the actual ending fell a little flat for me…I’m not sure if the build-up had me anticipating something completely different, but I just didn’t feel like everything was as settled as it should be – there seemed to be a lot of turmoil and drama to deal with and not all of it was.
Regardless of my thoughts about the ending, I really enjoyed Julietta and Rafael’s story, and I really hope Celia gets her own story because she’s exactly the kind of woman who can give any man a run for his money and Rafael’s brother seems like her type!
