Excerpt

“Why are you saying goodbye, then, Bria?”

“Because goodbye is all there is left to say.”

He sighs. I sigh. I conclude we are too good at it.

“How many more goodbyes, Bria? We’ve said them over these seven years with words, and we said them with acts. Shall we say them once more? Which one will it be this time? Say it with your heart, and I promise you I’ll find it in me to accept it. Say it with your soul and mean it, and only then will I let you go, even if it is forever this time if this is what you want, baby.”

My defeat surfaces from the deepest corners of my troubled soul. “As usual, you’re asking the impossible. My heart can never say goodbye to you because I gave it to you a long time ago and never took and wanted it back. No goodbye could ever silence the love I have for you, Damien. We can never say goodbye to each other because our hearts will never be in it.”

There was nothing wrong with being the crazy cat lady.

At least that’s what I told myself after twenty-three years of being blatantly single.

A girl’s self esteem could only take so many hits before carbs, Netflix, and cats became her sole loves in life. After all, cats didn’t judge how much pizza you could eat in one sitting.

But then Caleb Winters had to wedge his way into my life by bribing me with chocolate and my cat with toys. And before I knew it, my cat was too attached to let him go.

And, okay, maybe I wasn’t keen on the idea either.

Excerpt

There were only a few things that I considered necessities in my life. Reese’s cups, classic rock, and destroyed skinny jeans. Not really in that order, but all important nonetheless.

Unfortunately, the more Reese’s I ate, the less likely I’d be able to keep fitting into my skinny jeans. I refused to buy a bigger size, so I made sure to shake what Mama gave me to classic rock anytime I wasn’t shoving my thighs into spandex workout pants to exercise outside of my two jobs.

Did I love my body? Not all the time. In fact, I would love to shed a few pounds, trim my thighs, and get rid of the small rolls that folded over my stomach. But I loved chocolate more, specifically chocolate that covered creamy, delicious peanut butter. Therefore, the thighs stayed.

At least they were good for catching fallen food. And that, well, that happened way too often. Light colored jeans? Forget it. My parents jokingly bought me a month supply of Tide To-Go pens for any occasion. I’d gone through two of them since they’d given them to me two months ago. Was I going to admit that to them? Nope.

Just as Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” came on, the washing machine ended its cycle, alerting me to switch the load.

It wasn’t until I was bent down grabbing the last full laundry basket from the floor when I felt somebody else in the room. Assuming it was one of my coworkers, I didn’t think much about it. Between the song I was dancing along to and the laundry I was prepping to put into the dryer, I just ignored whoever was standing behind me. Everyone who worked at Lakeview knew that I usually had music blaring while I worked. It made the time pass faster.

Of course, ignoring whoever it was wasn’t easy, with my backside on fire from somebody staring at it. Looking over my shoulder, I caught a man I’d never seen before looking at my ass with a smirk on his irritatingly attractive face. One of his dark eyebrows, ones that matched the color of his dirty blond hair, was raised and his icy blue eyes shone brightly.

“Would you like another few minutes to look at my ass or are you done?” I snapped, lips twitching. I stood up, turning to him, and brushed my frizzy brown hair out of my face to get better look at him.

My reaction caused his other eyebrow to go up, and now his smirk was more like an amused grin. And I hated to admit it but seeing him smile like that made him more attractive. Even if he was a perv for watching me while my ass was in the air.

“Actually,” he said casually, “I wouldn’t mind another few minutes.”

I gaped at him for a split second before gathering my bearings. “Guests aren’t allowed to be in here. If you’re looking for help, you need to go to the front desk.”

He didn’t say anything. In fact, he pressed his lips together like he was trying to suppress an even wider smile. It gave me time to note how tall he was. I guessed six-three or six-four, his head almost grazing the top of the door jamb where he stood at the step of the maid’s closet. Being five-two, I didn’t have that problem.

I put a hand on my hip. “Do you need help finding the office? It’s not that difficult to find, you know.”

He chuckled. “Is this usually how you treat paying customers?”

“Only the ones who blatantly stare at my ass like they have nothing better to do.”

“Don’t be offended, sweetheart. It’s a nice ass, hence why I was staring at it. I mean, it was hard to miss being all up in the air like that. And I’m a man. I notice things like that. Take an interest in it quite frankly.”

“Staring at girls’ asses? Or mine?”

He leaned his shoulder against the door frame, the white t-shirt he wore stretching around his impressive biceps. He worked out. He had to. Even his clean-shaven jawline was defined in a way that was…

I snapped myself out of the stare down, because he was still there watching me check him out. Was I drooling? I wouldn’t put it past myself. All those muscles—

Ugh. Sometimes life wasn’t fair. It shouldn’t be legal for guys to look like him. And this guy clearly didn’t need his ego stroked.

“Women’s asses,” he answered, face blanching. “Girl’s asses make me sound creepy. Your ass specifically interests me in this case though.”

Was this guy for real? “You are a creep. Staring at anybody’s ass is weird. Regardless of the age.”

“You’re feisty, huh?”

“More like annoyed.”

“Well it works for you.”

I rolled my eyes. “I’ve got a job to do, and it’s not talking to pervy men. So, if that’s all, I’d like to get back to work. If you need help, the front desk is in the office down the driveway. Just go through the red door between the rocking chairs on the front porch.”

He had the nerve to scope me out, his eyes travelling from the top of my head—messy bun and all—to my painted orange toes. I’d never been checked out knowingly before. The way my body warmed up and tingles shot through my arms and legs was a foreign feeling. When our eyes locked again, my toes curled in my flip-flips.

“You’re…” I cleared my throat. “I don’t care if you’re a paying customer or not. If my boss finds out anybody is harassing staff, she’ll kick you out.”

The amused grin was back on his face. “I never said I was a paying customer.”

My eyes widened. “You do realize that just makes you sound creepier, right?”

He went to say something, but before he could, Iris walked up beside him, playfully boxing his arm like she was Sylvester Stallone in Rocky. She looked between us, a chipper expression lighting her face.

“You met!” she cheered, bouncing next to the guy and bumping their shoulders together. Her five-one frame was amusing to see next to him, because she only came half-way up his chest. Despite being vertically challenged, she was one of the most terrifying people I knew.

I snuck a peak at him, noticing the familiarity of his eyes when I glanced back at Iris. They shared the same round shape, thick lashes, and crystal blue color.

“Uh…not really.” I frowned, shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other.

Sensing my discomfort, Iris slapped his arm. “Caleb, what did you do to her?”

Caleb? Why did that sound familiar?

Then it struck me. Their resemblance and sarcasm were too much alike to be a coincidence.

“What makes you think I did something, sis?” Caleb asked innocently.

Iris looked at me apologetically. “I’m sorry, Paisley. My brother can be an ass sometimes, but he means well.”

Caleb’s interest piqued at the announcement of my name, which could only mean that Iris mentioned me to him. After all, she was trying to set us up.

I had the uncanny ability to attract men like him—the overconfident and arrogant. People accused me of being too picky when it came to dating, but they hadn’t met the past boys who drove me to being the cat lady. Caleb Winters would only be number six. Just a number.

“So, this is Paisley?” Caleb inquired, looking at me again like he was seeing me for the first time. I wondered what he saw. My freckled cheeks? Pointed nose? Porcelain skin?

I deadpanned. “No, I’m Jessica. Your sister just likes calling me random names sometimes. Livens things up a bit.”

He tilted his head back and laughed. It was deep and throaty, and the way his chest rumbled made his muscles more prominent through the tight material of his shirt.

Abs. He had freaking abs.

“Yep, she was right. I like you.”

I crossed my arms on my chest. “Yeah? And what if I don’t like you?”

Iris sighed heavily. “Seriously, Caleb. I left you alone for, like, five minutes. How much damage have you already caused?”

He shrugged. “She caught me staring at her ass. If it makes you feel better, I said it was a nice one.”

Iris shook her head. “You’re an idiot, but I guess I knew that already.” She turned her focus to me. “Excuse my brother, he’s such a guy. He’s right though, you have a nice ass.”

I felt my cheeks redden. Traitorous bitch.

“Well…” I fidgeted with a few fallen strands of hair. “Thanks, I guess.”

Caleb answered. “You’re welcome.”

I eyed him. “I wasn’t talking to you,” I informed him coolly.

Iris frowned. “Paisley, Caleb is—”

Caleb cut her off. “Awesome. Sometimes socially awkward. Usually the latter is just around pretty women. That’s a compliment, by the way.”

Iris snorted. “You didn’t need to point that out, dumbass.”

His head bobbed from side to side, contemplating his reply. “I’ve been called worse. The point is, I like you. You listen to decent music, you’re a smart ass, and you have a nice ass. Total package.”

“What if I’m really a raging bitch?” I quipped, narrowing my eyes.

“Iris wouldn’t try setting me up with a raging bitch. Or any type of bitch. She likes you. She said I’d like you.”

I grimaced, eying Iris. “What else have you said about me?”

There weren’t many good attributes that men deemed sexy about me. I tripped over my own words, my feet, everything. My middle name shouldn’t have been Marie, it should have been awkward. Half the time I preferred the company of my cat over most human beings, I was addicted to chocolate like it ran through my veins, and when it came to any refined carbs, I gained ten pounds just breathing near them.

She gave me a reassuring smile. “Nothing bad. Just that you can cook, you have a great sense of humor, and you’re mature for your age. He’s right, I did say I liked you and think you two could work. I wouldn’t put so much effort into trying to set you up otherwise. Hopefully, my hard work hasn’t been ruined by this moron.”

I couldn’t understand what was wrong with him that made her think we’d work.

Caleb laughed. “Thanks, sis.”

“I’m being honest,” she replied.

“Never said you weren’t.”

I just stared between them, not knowing what to say. My playlist was still playing in the background, now blasting Journey’s “Who’s Crying Now”.

“Well…” I turned toward my phone, shutting off the music app. “I need to finish this laundry before I head out. But it was—”

I stopped myself, not willing to lie. I wasn’t going to say it was nice to meet him. Nice to stare at his muscles sure, but that was about it.

Iris snorted, shoving her brother again. “I can’t believe you messed this up in less than five minutes. That’s a record for you.”

Caleb just grinned, like it didn’t bother him. I knew guys like him—arrogant. He loved the chase. It didn’t matter if I wanted to be chased or not, I was a challenge.

And the thing about challenges and me? We didn’t get along, just like I was sure Caleb and I wouldn’t. He was going to hurt me like the others. While I was just as much to blame for the past failures that plagued my conscious, it still hit me hard.

I turned toward Iris. “Thanks for thinking of me, but I’m not interested in being set up.”

Her face screwed. “With Caleb or in general? How long has it been since you’ve been la”

“Whoa!” I cut her off, eyes cutting to her brother. His lips wavered, like he was trying to hold back laughter. But there’s obvious interest in his eyes.

“Don’t stop on my account,” he pressed, crossing his arms across his chest. “How long has it been, Paisley?”

My brows pinched when he said my name. It rolled off his tongue in a way that had my palms clammy, and I hated it. I hated the prickling tingles in my fingertips when our eyes locked and how hollow my stomach got. Feeling like I was going to cave to the old version of myself made me worry about everything I built to become who I am now. Strong. Cautious. Independent.

Glaring at him, I said, “That’s none of your business.” I look back at Iris. “I have to finish this, so we’ll talk later?”

She blew out a breath. “Yeah, okay. Come on, Caleb. I’ll go introduce you to everybody else. Don’t make an ass of yourself any more than you already have.”

He chuckled as she pulled him back. She was tiny compared to him in every way possible. But he let her drag him away with little fight despite the foot height difference between them.

“I’ll see you later, Paisley,” he purred, winking at me.

I straightened my spine. “Don’t count on it.”

THEIR LOVE IS UNDENIABLE…
Happily married for four and a half years, Beau and Ethan Walker are ready for the next phase in their lives. They want what so many people dream of: A baby.
THEIR COMMITMENT IS UNWAVERING…
Expanding their family with a tiny bundle of joy isn’t as easy for them as it is for the rest of the Walker clan. However, they have options and they’re willing to do what it takes because they’ve learned that the things worth fighting for aren’t always easy, but they are definitely worth it.
THEIR STRENGTH WILL BE TESTED…
Despite their deep desire and their endless efforts to start a family, there are outside forces working against them. Some they can see, others they can’t. Every step forward seems to take them two steps back.
Only during their darkest moments do Beau and Ethan realize their true strength comes from the most important things they have: love, family, and each other.

I knew when I finished reading Ethan that his and Beau’s story would be one I would reread and think about often, not only because the chemistry between these two alpha males is off the charts, which means that their sexual encounters scorch the pages of their book, but also because it was clear, even when Ethan was fighting his feelings for Beau, that these two men complete each other and give one another EVERYTHING they need, more so than either of them thought possible.

So, when I found out that Nicole Edwards planned to continue Ethan and Beau’s story, allowing readers to return to Coyote Ridge and see just how much the Walker family has grown with their many new additions as well as what new shenanigans the Walker brothers are up to, what I most looked forward to was being able to reunite with all the Walkers and get a front row seat to all the changes that have taken place, feeling at home in this small town with this not so small Walker family.

The Walkers are a close knit family, willing to do whatever it takes to protect their own, and that idea is poignantly illustrated in Beau. Ethan’s family steps up BIG TIME for the married men in life changing ways and it’s with their family at their back that Ethan and Beau learn to be a little more patient and a bit more trusting when it comes to getting their hearts desire.

What I love most about Ethan and Beau’s relationship and what they’ve built together is that even after being married for close to five years, they still crave one another desperately, but it’s so much more than a physical desire…their hearts beat as one and their souls are forever linked, and it’s through the trials that Ethan and Beau have fought through as well as the ones that they are currently working to overcome that truly captures what these two are willing to endure to give each other the forever they deserve.

Throughout Beau and Ethan’s two books, Nicole Edwards delves into sensitive topics like depression, bigotry, and the difficulty of being oneself amidst judgmental people. Ethan’s battle with depression is something that he’s constantly combatting and when he loses parts of the fight and succumbs to the darkness of his demons, Beau’s at his back pulling Ethan back into the light and proving just how essential Ethan is to making Beau’s life complete. It’s well-known amongst the residents of Coyote Ridge that Beau’s parents are two of the most negative and prejudicial people around and that fact continues to be a point of contention for Ethan and Beau, but with all situations like this one, there are deeper issues at play and that information is revealed in Beau, leading to a series of events that both threaten to pull Beau under as well as set him free in all ways that matter.

Beau and Ethan’s partnership is beautifully captured in Beau; in the first half of the book, Beau is the one to hold Ethan up, making sure that Ethan knows how much Beau loves him and that that fact will never change. But as the story continues and Beau struggles to deal with several situations that are emotionally overwhelming, it’s Ethan who steps up and takes control, providing Beau his strength and his love to work through everything that has the power to affect Beau in negative ways.

I don’t think I’ve come across another set of brothers like the Walkers – these men love fiercely, harass wildly, and live life fully, but it’s the bond they share that proves just how amazing this group of men is and that’s something that is more than obvious in every story about one of them.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my respect and my awe for the patriarch of the family, Curtis Walker. He’s such an intelligent, hardworking, and steadfast man, and he takes care of his own with every single ounce of who he is. His protective nature and his ability to look at the big picture and act accordingly has enabled him to help his sons and their families regardless of what they’re up against because Curtis Walker refuses to let any  member of his family down.

I absolutely adored the continuation of Beau and Ethan’s story. It was everything that I hoped it would be and then some. These two are one of my favorite book couples of all time, so catching up with them and what’s happening in their lives as well as what the other Walker siblings are up to is always a pleasure, and the fact that every single family member steps up for Beau and Ethan in huge ways makes their journey that much better!!

“So, I was thinkin’…”

Ah, hell.

Perched on the arm of the couch, Ethan Walker glanced over at the stairs willing his husband to stop while he was ahead. Ethan knew what was coming before Beau even finished that statement and now was not the time for–

“Maybe we could skip dinner,” Beau continued, the deep cadence of his voice echoing off the walls as he made his way down the stairs. “And I could just lay you out on the kitchen table and feast on you tonight.”

Every inch of skin from Ethan’s chest to the tips of his ears flamed hot.

Well, technically, his entire body turned into a giant inferno before Beau rounded the landing and started down the second set of steps because, as was the way his life went, Ethan wasn’t the only one to have heard his husband’s sexy proposition.

Not by a long shot.

While Ethan’s life was a twelve on a scale of one to ten these days, it did seem that karma or fate or whatever the hell you wanted to call it was hell-bent on ensuring he suffered as much embarrassment as physically possible. As though life couldn’t be copacetic without a routine dose of mortification.

Today’s dose was a little more humiliating than others.

Ethan swallowed hard and stared at Beau, silently wishing the floor would open up and suck him down. The man Ethan loved more than life was sans shirt, shoes, and socks, wearing only a pair of well-worn blue jeans and a sexy smile.

It could’ve been worse. Maybe. At least Beau was wearing something.

The chuckle that sounded from Ethan’s sister-in-law said their guests were still there and they’d gotten more than an earful.

“Oh, shit.” Beau’s dark brown eyes widened as he came to a stop on the last step, his shocked gaze bouncing from one face to another.

“Hey, babe,” Ethan said tersely, trying to shrug off the embarrassment of having his husband proposition him while their company witnessed it firsthand. “Guess who’s here?” As though Beau couldn’t see with his own eyes, Ethan announced, “Travis, Kylie, Gage, and V.”

“And Zane,” Ethan’s youngest brother declared as he stepped out from the hallway. “I heard it, too.”

Fucking yeah.

Beau didn’t move, his gaze still darting from one person to the next. “Good to see you guys.”

Good wasn’t quite the word Ethan was thinking.

Figuring what the hell, Ethan risked a glance at their guests. Just as he thought, Travis was smirking, Kylie’s cheeks had turned a rosy pink, Gage was smiling, V was pretending she wasn’t there, and Zane was grinning like a loon.

The fucker.

“We were gonna suggest y’all join us at the diner,” Gage said after clearing his throat, his grin far too wide.

Zane—ever helpful—added, “But it sounds to me like you’ve already got plans. You know, with the table and all.”

Ethan coughed to cover a strained laugh. He wasn’t sure why he was laughing. Probably because he was seconds away from Forrest Gump-ing it out of the house. Once he made it past the porch, he’d be home free. Maybe if he ran long enough, one day they’d all forget this ever happened.

He peered up at Travis, then shot a look in Zane’s direction.

Nope. He couldn’t get that lucky. Ethan knew his brothers would never forget—ever, ever, ever—so he might as well save the time and energy.

“Lorrie and Curtis offered to watch the babies tonight,” Kylie explained. “So we thought we’d get outta the house for a bit. We stopped by to see if y’all wanted to join us.”

“Clearly, you two were thinkin’ about stayin’ in,” Travis offered, his deep voice ringing with mirth.

Ethan locked his eyes on Beau, refusing to look at his oldest brother again. He did not want to see any more amusement on the man’s face.

“Well, I think that’s our cue to go,” V said sweetly, grabbing Zane’s hand. “Come on, babe.”

Zane glanced at Ethan and smirked.

Fuck.

“Oh, but Ethan,” Gage stated, grinning as he turned toward the door, “you might wanna reinforce that table before … you know.”

Ethan discreetly flipped his brother-in-law off by rubbing the bridge of his nose with his middle finger.

Gage laughed.

“Come on, y’all,” Travis said, pushing off the wall and taking his wife’s hand. “Maybe we’ll see if Sawyer and Kennedy wanna grab a bite.”

“We’ll go,” Beau added, his tone reluctant. He clearly didn’t want to go.

“Oh, no,” Gage said dramatically. “I suggest you stay here and do exactly what you were plannin’.”

Zane’s head appeared in the doorway. “Far more interesting than a burger and fries.”

Ethan’s gaze shot to his husband’s, noticing the cocky grin that formed on Beau’s mouth.

“Don’t have to tell me twice.”

Ethan blushed.

Again.

His husband liked to do that to him. In fact, Ethan wouldn’t put it past Beau to have known that Travis and Zane, as well as their significant others, were here before he made that raunchy request.

“Talk to ya later,” Travis added on his way out the door. “And reinforce that table, E. Gage is right. Safety’s key.”

Ethan’s brother offered a backhanded wave over his head as he shifted his other hand behind Kylie’s back and urged her out of the house and down the porch steps.

Ethan didn’t hesitate before shutting the door.

Fucking hell.

As soon as they were alone, Ethan spun around to face Beau. “Did you do that on purpose?”

“Who me?” Beau was a picture of innocence, which made Ethan laugh. There wasn’t a damn thing virtuous about his barely dressed husband.

“Asshole,” Ethan grumbled, but he couldn’t stop the grin from pulling at the corners of his mouth.

Beau approached him, wrapping his big arms around Ethan and jerking him closer. “But you love me. Asshole and all.”

Ethan choked on a laugh. “Literally,” he agreed.

“I know what’ll make you love me more,” Beau whispered, leaning in and brushing his lips along Ethan’s jaw. “You know when I do that thing … with my tongue?”

Ethan moaned, tilting his head and offering Beau better access as his lips caressed Ethan’s neck. He stumbled a couple of steps until his back was against the wood door. The man’s mouth alone made his fucking knees weak.

“Yeah. You know what I’m talkin’ about,” Beau mumbled against his skin.

They might’ve been married for four and a half years now, but Ethan had to admit, the honeymoon still wasn’t over for them. In fact, if he had his way, the honeymoon would never be over.

The ridiculously attractive man who was his husband reached down and unbuttoned Ethan’s jeans, then slowly lowered the zipper as he kissed and licked Ethan’s neck.

Ethan placed his hand on Beau’s, halting his movements. “What do you think you’re doin’?”

Beau’s smile could be felt against his neck. “Makin’ it up to you.”

“Making what up?”

“My little blunder.” Beau’s breath fanned his neck. “I’m thinkin’ I can make you forget all about it by using my wicked oral skills on your cock as a distraction.”

Well, hell. Who could say no to that?

“Right now. Right here.” Beau’s words rasped against Ethan’s ear as Beau worked his T-shirt up his torso, then over his head. “My mouth wrapped around your cock.”

“That’s a good start.” A groan escaped as Beau stroked his dick slowly, leisurely.

“Is that what you need?”

“Oh, yeah.” Ethan would never turn down a blow job from Beau. “Put your mouth on me.”

Beau pushed Ethan’s jeans down his hips, freeing his cock. When his big hand fisted Ethan’s shaft again, it was difficult not to get lost in the sensation. The man knew every single one of Ethan’s buttons. He even knew just how hard to press them to make Ethan’s head spin.

“You know I could do this all day, every day.” Beau’s dark eyes were full of heat as he lowered himself to his knees.

Ethan planted his palms against the door behind him, his gaze dropping to Beau’s face as warmth enveloped his cock. He shuddered as the pleasure radiated through him. It didn’t matter where they were, whenever Beau turned his full attention on Ethan, he knew he was a goner. Resistance was futile.

Not that he had any intention of resisting. That desire had died a long time ago, back when Ethan had given in to Beau’s persistence in the beginning. Back when the man currently on his knees before him had insisted Ethan give in and take what was being offered.

Sliding one hand into Beau’s thick blond hair, Ethan tugged him closer, then pushed him back. He repeated the motion, getting lost in the glorious suction of his husband’s mouth.

“Love your mouth,” Ethan moaned. “So fucking much.”

“Well, you’re in luck.” Beau pulled back and licked Ethan from root to tip. “Because my mouth loves your cock.”

“Your mouth loves all of me,” Ethan said on a groan.

“True. Every delicious inch.”

His husband knew that saying shit like that would send Ethan racing to the edge. It always worked.

“Suck me.” Ethan tightened his grip on Beau’s hair. “All of me.”

Beau opened his mouth wide and Ethan took the offer that was given to him. He pushed his hips forward, driving his rock-hard cock deep into Beau’s throat before retreating slowly, watching as his shaft slid over Beau’s lips. The man had perfect lips. Hell, the man had perfect everything.

Ethan reached down and cupped Beau’s head with both hands, then began fucking his mouth hard and deep. The wet rasp of Beau’s tongue caused a tremor to shoot down his spine. Pumping his hips forward and back, Ethan rode the waves of pleasure that crashed into him.

Beau gripped Ethan’s thighs and took every punishing thrust until Ethan’s orgasm was barreling down on him, making him gasp and moan.

“I’m gonna come down your throat,” Ethan warned.

Beau’s only response was a growl of encouragement.

“Fuck, baby.” Ethan inhaled sharply, succumbing to the pleasure as his cock pulsed in Beau’s mouth. “Fuck, yes. Beau … baby … I’m comin’.”

Beau sucked hard and Ethan melted back against the door as his knees threatened to give out, his climax slamming into him, stealing his strength.

Ethan shuddered, weak from the all-consuming pleasure. “I don’t know how you do that.” He attempted to draw air into his lungs. “Every fuckin’ time.”

“The secret…” Beau got to his feet and successfully crushed Ethan between his big body and the door, “is in the fact that I love doing it.”

“What? Embarrassing me?”

Beau’s grin was wicked and contrite at the same time, but his eyes glowed with the love Ethan was so familiar with. “No. Sucking your cock.”

Ethan jerked Beau’s head down and fused their lips together, holding him tightly as he plundered his mouth.

“I would return the favor”—Ethan nipped Beau’s bottom lip—“but I think you deserve to suffer for a little while.”

Beau leaned his forehead against Ethan’s and grinned. “You know I love when you make me wait.”

That he did. While Ethan was all about instant gratification, Beau did enjoy when Ethan tortured him, giving him something to look forward to.

“I love you, E,” Beau said, his lips brushing Ethan’s.

“Love you, too.” Ethan chuckled. “Even if you do insist on embarrassing me in front of my brothers.”

“Me?” Beau pulled back, his dark brown eyes twinkling. “Not me.”

Uh-huh.

Four years or forty, Ethan knew without a doubt that he would never get enough of this man.

Never.

REVIEW TOUR: REVELING IN SIN by Meghan March

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.

To keep.

To cherish.

I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.

I don’t care what it takes, because failure is not an option.

No matter who or what stands in our way—this time, she’ll be mine forever

My Review

The conclusion of Whitney and Lincoln’s story is full of revelations, dramatics, and loss…but it also demonstrates how pure and lasting Whitney and Lincoln’s love is as well as how strong they have been and continue to be as they find their way back to each other and make up for the time that other people have stolen from them.

Both Whitney and Lincoln show what they’re made of throughout the course of Reveling in Sin; she finds her voice and refuses to cower ever again and he remains firm in his resolve to prove himself worthy of Whitney’s love as well as his capabilities of holding onto the reins of his family’s legacy and  its future.

But what I find most interesting about book three is the fact that Whitney and Lincoln are NOT the individuals who I would consider the sinners of this story line; sure, they keep their fair share of secrets and sometimes, they make decisions and/or take risks that others would fault them for, but their sins are nowhere near as taxing or as monumental as the ones that are further explained in Reveling in Sin.

I do have to admit that I felt like there was a bit too much drama for the final book in this trilogy. I get that Whitney and Lincoln’s relationship would be challenged and that the guilt they both felt over some of the things that occurred would be a struggle, but everything that goes down due to a number of secondary characters was overwhelming, at least in my mind, and I guess I didn’t truly understand the necessity for all of the outside obstacles encroaching on Whitney and Lincoln’s future as much as they did, especially since they weren’t even responsible or a part of most of it due to it happening in the past.

Even though I had a difficult time with some of the things that happened in Reveling in Sin, I still really enjoyed Whitney and Lincoln’s story; the fact that they were ready and willing to fight for what they’ve always shared between them was illustrated beautifully in book three and I was happy to see a few of the characters getting what was coming to them, in both positive and negative ways.

The introduction of Rumor at the end of the story has me quite intrigued; I’m interested to see where March takes his story and who the woman will be who will knocks Rumor down a few pegs, not that he’ll easily give into her;)

4 Poison Apples

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends.

Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes.

I didn’t know or care what her name was.

Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man.

She hates me, and she should.

I objected on her wedding day.

Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger.

They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable.

I’ll never be done with her.

Guilty until proven innocent.

That’s the way the world works, right?

I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.

The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.

If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.
