RELEASE BLITZ: PLAYER by Staci Hart

cover-nowavailable.jpg

I should have known it was only a game.

I should have known he was too good to be true.

He’s nothing but a player…

Player, an all-new sexy, standalone romantic comedy from Staci Hart, is LIVE!

player-wrap.jpg

He’s a player.

He plays the bass with expert fingers. He plays women with intoxicating charm. And he’ll play me with the ease of a virtuoso.

Who better to teach me to play than the master himself?

I’m his model student, front row, pencil sharp. Pick up lines? I’ve got them. Free drinks? By the dozen. Kissing? Let me grab my chapstick.

But the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that there’s so much I don’t know. Like why his touch sets off a chain reaction straight to my nethers. Or how I’m certain each kiss is the best I’ll ever have, until the moment his lips take mine again.

There’s so much I don’t know.

Like the fact that I’m only a bet.

But we are what we are. He’s a player, through and through.

And I’m the fool who fell in love with him.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey.

From roots in Houston to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.

From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes a captivating novella about a rugged rodeo star who will do anything to protect the people he loves.

When rodeo star Crew Lawton loses everything in a bad bet, he has no choice but to take a new job to pay off his debts—even if it means becoming the face of an expensive male skincare line. And he’s certainly not used to being bossed around by a woman who doesn’t even know the difference between bulls and broncs. But Crew owes money to dangerous criminals, and he’ll do anything Della says in order to pay them back and keep them far away from his family in Loveless, Texas…

The launch of her new men’s line for her family’s company means everything to Della Deveaux, and she’s not willing to let some rugged, arrogant cowboy ruin her campaign. Crew Lawton is the last man she would have chosen to represent her chic, sophisticated brand. Unfortunately, her father already invested millions in Crew’s stupidly handsome face. Yet the more time they spend together, Della and Crew realize that opposites do attract. My Review

I adore Samantha Young’s storytelling and the way she creates such dynamic heroes and heroines, and I also love a good enemies-to-lovers’ storyline. So, with the release of Fight or Flight, I was able to get my Samantha Young fix as well as experience a passionate, emotional, and witty story that pits an intelligent and driven American against an arrogant Scotsman and all the ways that fate intervenes to keep these two in one another’s crosshairs despite their antagonistic encounters.

Ava Breevort is an intriguing heroine – one whose past dictates her present more than she would like; in fact, the reason she crosses paths with Caleb is because she was at a funeral for a childhood friend and had a series of misfortunes on her way back to Boston. I think a lot of readers will relate to Ava and the way she deals with the lack of love she’s had in her life from the people who were supposed to love her most, and we will also cheer her on as she works to find her voice in all situations and give as good as she gets, not just from her ex, but from her cranky and downright mean, at times, sex buddy. Ava definitely seems to come into her own as the story progresses and even though there were times that I felt she gave into Caleb too easily, especially when he didn’t seem to deserve it, there’s a reason she feels so strongly connected to him…now, she just needs to figure out if she continues to fight her feelings for him or let them take flight, risking her heart

and perhaps her sanity for a shot of something real with this moody Scot who has past issues of his own to sort through and confront.

It’s extremely difficult when the hero is an extremely flawed one, like Caleb seems to be, and what makes it even harder is when readers don’t get his perspective…aren’t allowed inside his head to understand what lead him to who he is today; I think that would have gone a long way in helping readers warm up to Caleb a bit more. What does become quite clear, though, the further into the story I read is that there’s more to the Caleb Scott Ava and readers first meet, and even though he left me feeling quite conflicted, not knowing if I wanted to kiss him or throttle him, the way Young reveals Caleb’s full personality helps us to understand the complexity of this rather difficult man. That being said, there will be readers who won’t be able to see passed some of Caleb Scott’s actions, especially those times when his flippant attitude and lack of filter cause more harm than good, which means that he will be a point of contention for some romance readers, causing them a disconnect that they might not be able to overcome.

It’s hard to say if Ava and Caleb’s connection is a healthy one; without a doubt, their physical chemistry is electric, but the deeper these two get with each other, when neither seemed to want anything more than a release and a bit of passion for as long as it lasts, the more improbable a long lasting connection is because unless their respective pasts are dealt with, there’s no way they’ll be able to fight for something they didn’t seem to want in the first place.

Fight or Flight is quite the angst riddled journey, and while I’m usually averse to such storylines, my love of Samantha Young’s storytelling definitely drew me to Ava and Caleb’s book, and while I felt emotionally overloaded for much of it, I also didn’t want it to end because that’s how much I adore being in the worlds that Young creates.

RELEASE REVIEW: This Love by Kelly Elliott

I was a self-appointed bachelor and happy to have the title. Everyone thought it was time for me to settle down and find a nice girl. Well, no thank you. This cowboy wanted to stay clear of relationships. I wanted the freedom that came with no strings.

But what did I know? Nothing apparently.

Everything changed when I looked into her green eyes; my world tilted when she smiled at me.

What was this feeling?

Whatever was happening had me losing my damn mind. I fumbled with my words. My body wasn’t my own. I wanted her … desperately.

Was I ready to give up my bachelor days, or was this Irish girl simply an itch I needed scratched?

This Love is book 6 in the Cowboys and Angels series.

My Review

Readers who have been with the Parker crew from the beginning of Kelly Elliott’s Cowboys and Angels series are more than familiar with Cord’s extracurricular activities as well as his desire to remain single despite his brothers and sisters finding their happily ever afters, reveling in the love and commitment that’s found their way into their lives. Every time the discussion of being a one-woman kind of guy came up in the past, Cord adamantly denied his desire for that type of relationship and took things even further by stating unequivocally that he would never be Smurfed, and with every flirty look, lewd word, and storage room hook up, Cord stayed true to his self-professed manwhoring ways, making it quite impossible for anyone to believe, especially his brothers, that there was a woman who could bring Cord to his knees.

I have to be honest…I didn’t know how Kelly Elliott was going to win me over when it came to Cord finally falling for THE woman. I had my doubts that she could realistically illustrate Cord’s transformation, but after finishing Cord and Maehb’s story, I can wholeheartedly say that I’m so glad that Elliott proved me wrong, and while there is a bit of the ‘too soon’ vibe, the steps these Cord and Maehb take to work through their fears and give themselves to one another despite the risk was illustrated beautifully.

The fact that Cord and Maehb have been circling each other since she arrived in Texas lays credence to the fact that they’ve been slowly developing confusing feelings for one another, which is further illustrated by their reactions and their inability to get the other one out of their every thought. It’s more than clear that Cord’s past with women is a point of contention but the only way that anything could work between Cord and Maehb is if they figure out a way to move beyond the notches on his bedpost and focus on how it will be the first time Cord gives more than his body to a woman and that is a significant difference that they both need to realize as they move forward and try to build something lasting between them.

I do have to say that I felt like Maehb’s character was a bit underdeveloped, and I’m not sure if it’s because I already knew some about Cord due to his presence in all of the earlier books or if it’s because Cord’s the character who needed to change who he was, but I felt like I didn’t really know much about Maehb, except for the pertinent details of her life in Ireland, her dad, and her business. She is such a unique and beautiful Irish lass, and I just wanted to understand who she was and why she was as emotional as she was throughout the course of the text.

The fact that Maehb and Cord are in uncharted territory when it comes to an intimate relationship – one with commitment, strong feelings, and passion – makes it interesting to see how they react to each other and how their feelings translate through their touches, their words, and their need for one another’s body, heart, and soul.

This love that Maehb and Cord create is worth changing for…this love is one that guides them into the unknown and allows them to hold on despite the fear and anxiousness that comes with something so new. This love between them is everything and I loved watching it grow and witnessing these two feel strong enough to take the biggest risks of their lives.

Trevor’s story is up next and I’m anxious to see if Trevor’s mistakes can be rectified or if Scarlett moves on without him, feeling like she no longer has a choice or a chance to be what she wants and needs to be in his life.

#1 MUSE by T. Gephart (#1 Series, #5)

Synopsis

Landing a writing gig in Hollywood was just as difficult as becoming an actor, and something Claire Becker had learned the hard way.

Sure, she didn’t have to conform to ridiculous beauty standards and give up her love for raw cookie dough, but the sting of rejection burned all the same. The only things that kept her sane were her two amazing roommates and her guilty pleasure—writing fan-fiction.

Getting lost in her own world, she’d forget that she had yet to land her dream job, and instead spent time with her dream man—Nick Larsson. Well, at least in the literary sense. Too bad he wasn’t aware or an active participant—her fictional love life, outstanding.

Tall, good-looking and sexy beyond comprehension, Nick Larsson not only had a famous last name—and four equally smoldering brothers—but was talented beyond belief. A star on the rise with a critically acclaimed series, his body and face were what fantasy scripts—and dreams—were made of. Made for some pretty steamy writing opportunities too.

And yes, it was probably “wrong” for Claire to objectify him, but it wasn’t like anyone knew about it. Just her, and her two amazing, supportive roommates.

Or at least they were amazing and supportive, and bound to be missed after Claire killed them.

In a moment of unexplained insanity, one of them —or both, each as bad as the other—sent her latest installments to the man himself.

Cue panic of epic proportions.

All Claire needed to do was sneak into his apartment and retrieve the misappropriated story before Nick, or anyone else, read it and mistook her for a creepy stalker. Although, breaking and entering probably wouldn’t convince anyone to the contrary either.

Claire was going to get the best material of her life, or end up with a restraining order. Either way, the story was getting a hell of lot more interesting.

My Review

There’s no better story to tell than your own, especially if it’s fan-fiction, and there’s a gorgeous, intelligent, and talented man written into said plot line – one who allows you to experience all the sexy goodness in a whirlwind romance…of the fictional variety. And, even though Claire Becker may not have made it in show business yet, she sure has one hell of an imagination and quite the storytelling prowess, so much so, that her roommate takes it upon herself to send Claire’s muse – the real man who plays Claire’s male lead in her stories, Nick Larsson, a few of Claire’s most recent chapters to show Nick exactly how big a role he plays as the star of Claire’s ambitious fantasies.

I couldn’t get enough of Claire’s internal musings and diatribes; she definitely has a flair for the dramatic and that shows in both her personal and fictional life, but she’s also creative, passionate, and honest, and it’s those qualities that make her an endearing character – one who readers can’t help but like due to her quirkiness, her ramblings, and her less than stellar plan to retrieve her manuscript before a certain heartthrob gets his hands on them.

Larsson brother 5…just when readers thought T. Gephart couldn’t give them another swoon worthy Larsson male, Nick’s story is told and everything that his brothers were, he is as well, and its his intelligence, wit, and good nature that stands out and makes him an atypical star, which is also why Claire is so drawn to him and uses him as her fictional hero. I loved how authentic Nick seemed…he had a good head on his shoulders and he’s not an arrogant actor who believes everyone should bow down to him, which will also go a long way with characters and readers alike.

I have to say, though, that I do wish readers were privy to Nick’s perspective; I’ve found lately that I prefer to get inside the heads of both the heroine and the hero because it offers a complete picture of what these two are up against when it comes to their self recriminations and the real reasons behind their words and their actions. Despite my desire for Nick’s point of view, not having didn’t take away from my appreciation of this funny, steamy, and entertaining story; I just feel like it would have added further insight into why and how everything played out between him and Claire the way that they did.

I’ve been on a good run of romantic comedies lately and #1 Muse is in that collection because Claire and Nick’s book has the perfect mix of humor, sass, steam, and supporting characters who make it a worthwhile read.

4 Poison Apples

Excerpt

The End.

Those words sent a shiver down my spine every time I wrote them. Usually they were preceded by FADE OUT, but every once in a while, those last two little words were just for me.

Writing fan fic was never going to win me an Academy Award. It wasn’t going to earn me the respect of my peers or give me the recognition I craved in the industry I loved. It didn’t even pay the bills. But when I opened up that blank document—without the limitations of a script—it was like hitting a reset button.

It was my dirty little secret.

My guilty pleasure.

Just for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved writing screenplays. I loved the feeling of molding an idea and playing God with all the characters. Controlling their destiny with the ultimate goal of seeing it play out on a screen, but that wasn’t as easy as it sounded. The pressure sometimes made it worse. Which was why my “private” writing felt soooooo good. Zero pressure, and I still got to play God.

And if I thought there was any chance I could parlay my pages of nonsense into anything remotely resembling a book, I’d have hit the publish button months ago. Lord knows I could use the money. But a novelist, I was not.

My characters weren’t mainstream enough, and my storylines often ridiculous—who cared, not like anyone else was going to read them. But more to the point, most, if not all of them, were literary daydreams that allowed me to fantasize about the hottest guy on earth.

Nick Larsson.

The man was so hot it was absurd. He was tall—six-foot-something delicious—with a body better suited to an athlete than an actor. Even his hair was hot; a rebellious mess of just-fucked-tresses that looked like a perfect mix of I-don’t-care and I’m-on-the-cover-of-GQ. And those eyes—luminous pools of warm wood brown that had the power to make you forget your first name.

I chuckled, feeling my skin heat at just the thought of him. He didn’t even seem to know how hot he was, striding through life like he hadn’t appropriated more than his share of sexiness from the rest of the male population.

I’d had the pleasure—and really, there was no better word—of meeting Nick when I was a writer’s assistant five years ago. He’d played a bartender on an episode of the series I was working on and never had “what can I get you to drink ever sounded as good as it did coming out of his mouth.

Of course, I introduced myself, smiling slightly inappropriately while trying to think of a good way to ask him out. Suggesting a drink seemed cheesy, and I was attempting to think of something witty and clever to say when he was whisked off by the director. I was gutted by the loss of opportunity, scouring the call sheets to see if he was going to make a reappearance. And thankfully, I was given a second chance, Hot Barman bringing sexy back, two episodes later.

I’d spent the morning following one of those ridiculous YouTube makeup tutorials that used fifty different types of beauty products just to make you look fresh faced and natural. Quick, flawless routinemy ass. Tamed my long hair into a cute messy bun that had taken me almost an hour to perfect and thrown on a dress and heels that were bound to get a raised eyebrow when I waltzed into work.

There wasn’t a chance in hell I was walking away this time without at least a number, a date—the ultimate objective. Of course, that was before I found out the studio had cancelled the series overnight. So not only was I not going to see Nick reprise his sexy—despite not being integral to the script—role, I was also out of a job. Oh, and the phone number and date were probably not going to happen either.

Fast forward to the present day where I had moved from shitty writing gig to shitty writing gig—nothing noteworthy or monumental—treading water and needing to write copy ads to make ends meet while Nick Larsson’s career had exploded.

Heading up an all-star cast in their second season in an Emmy award-winning series, he was the next hot thing. I had yet to go a full twenty-four hours where I didn’t see his astoundingly handsome face staring at me—that billboard on West Hollywood made sure of that.

So even if our paths were to cross again—either through the intersection of mutual projects or at a social function around town—I was almost positive he wouldn’t know who I was, have any recollection of meeting me, and have almost zero interest in “hanging out.”

No, he was lost to the beautiful people, gripped by the clutches of fame and success, and nestled at the bosom of the “it” crowd. Conversely, I was the weirdo with my face pressed against the glass, staring at him and writing him into fictional scenarios like I was a medieval conquering queen requesting his talent at her majesty’s pleasure. I wasn’t much into historical, but putting the man in a sexy-ass coat of armor sounded hot as hell. My fantasies weren’t genre specific; paranormal, historical—I was an equal opportunity creator.

But there weren’t any vampires, kings, or warriors in tonight’s installment. Instead I had kept it close to reality, blurring the lines enough, so it seemed believable he’d end up with a girlfriend that happened to be me.

RELEASE BLITZ REVIEW AND EXCERPT: LOVE SINCERELY YOURS by Sara Ney and Meghan Quinn

Dear Mister…**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we’re being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

My Review

To Whom It May Concern,

When I saw that two of my favorite romance authors were writing a book together, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it, and now, after finishing it, all I can say is…when will readers get more from this dynamic duo!

Who knew that one inappropriate email would lead to a string of discourses via email that brought out the hero and heroine’s wit and playfulness, something that the hero would never show at their place of business, partly because he’s the boss, but also because his focus has always been his company, so interacting with actual people is a bit difficult for him, which makes him come off like a jerkish prick!

Rome is an interesting character, and while it will definitely take readers some time to warm-up to the man he presents himself as at work, like Peyton, it will be easy to see that there’s more to Rome than he portrays and because he’s given an avenue to be himself…to shed some of his jerk-like antics, he shows himself to be much different than the arrogant boss who his employees have pegged him as…the same ideas that they have more than made their opinion about known.

I appreciated the fact that Peyton didn’t squelch her attraction to Rome despite how she’s heard/seen his assholerly in full effect a time or two, and even though

Peyton shares her desire to ‘bang’ her boss through a large amount of liquid courage, regardless of how outrageous it is or what could happen to her job if her identity is discovered, it allows readers to see a different side of Rome as his exchanges with Peyton continue, and it also illustrates perfectly just how much chemistry is between them and why these two hooking up or embarking on a relationship might be just what they need, even with the no fraternization policy in place.

The creative way Ney and Quinn start the exchanges between Peyton and Rome and then take it further the longer these two converse will definitely have readers swooning; it’s interesting just how easy it is for people to be who they ‘truly’ are behind a screen, but it also makes sense given the nature of Peyton and Rome’s professional relationship and how Rome is ‘all business’ at work. The fact that Ney and Quinn presented the emails the way they did allows readers to get inside both of the main characters’ heads and see a clear picture of what’s occurring between them and who they are at their core, and that was insight that I greatly appreciated.

Romantic comedies are fun and entertaining reads because the angst and dramatics are low and the focus is more on the quirky and humorous situations that the main characters find themselves in as well as the banter that stems from the sexual tension that surrounds them as things continue to build up, just waiting for the time for action to be required.

I love a good office romance, and that’s exactly what Ney and Quinn bring readers in Love, Sincerely, Yours. For most of the characters and the story line what’s between Peyton and Rome is secret; in fact, Rome doesn’t know who his mysterious female emailer is, so watching that play out amidst the hilarious banter and the less than appropriate statements was a perfect way to slowly reveal, not only the woman behind the emails, but the feelings she has for her boss as well.

I sure hope these two authors continue writing together because their styles, quirks, and sense of humor match up well and what they deliver as co-authors is definitely worth the read!

Love, one happy blogger

Sincerely, a fan of both authors

Yours truly, The Fairest of All Book Reviews:)

Excerpt

Like a goddamn ray of sunshine, light streaming behind her from the window, a halo shining above her pretty head.

Her lying, beautiful head.

Dark hair, wavy and glossy, down around her shoulders, the rich color picking up red from the sun.

She’s holding a glass—it’s poised at her lips and she’s about to take a sip—when our eyes meet. She lowers it, her mouth parts, and her smile spreads.

Until I scowl. Then, her face morphs from happy to concerned in a second. Damn right she should be concerned.

I nod.

She nods.

My eyes trail down the front of her and I note her dress—it’s baby blue, wrapped and tied at the waist, and shows off her curves while highlighting her legs in those sexy-as-shit heels.

Stop thinking about her curves and legs. You’re not here to admire her.

The pile of gifts in the corner pisses me off, bringing me back into the present, back to my rage, and has me lifting my arm; crooking my finger.

Peyton’s brows go up at the same time her head cocks and she pokes a finger into her own chest. “Me?”

“Yeah. You.” I know she can’t hear me, but I say it anyway—and if she’s any good at reading lips, she’ll haul her ass over here right quick.

Her cup is passed. Skirt gets smoothed out. Chin tilts high.

She heads over.

Good girl.

“Follow me,” I order her when we’re on the outskirts of the room. When we’re clear across the office common area, I pivot to face her.

She’s shorter, even in heels, so I have to dip my head to glare at her.  “Want to tell me exactly what the fuck is going on in there?”

Sara Ney is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the How to Date a Douchebag series, and is best known for her sexy, laugh-out-loud New Adult romances. Among her favorite vices, she includes: iced latte’s, historical architecture and well-placed sarcasm. She lives colorfully, collects vintage books, art, loves flea markets, and fancies herself British.

She lives with her husband, children, and her ridiculously large dog.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ AND REVIEW: FOUND IN BLISS by Lexi Blake

Re-released in a second edition with new content.

Holly Lang has a hard time trusting men. Eight years ago, her husband tossed her aside and took her son away from her. Finding the little town of Bliss has given her a second chance at life, new friends, and sense of belonging. Unfortunately, Bliss also seems to have filled her days and nights with dreams of two beautiful men. She can’t stop thinking about the gentle but haunted Dr. Caleb Burke, and the exotic and dangerous Alexei Markov.

Caleb Burke isn’t your ordinary town doctor, but he’s always dedicated himself to trying to be a good man. His journey to this quirky little town was not an easy one. Some of the stops along the way left him scarred in more ways than one. But when he first sees Holly, it’s like someone threw open the blinds and let the sunlight into his life for the first time in years.

Alexei Markov is nothing like Caleb Burke. Working as a hit man for the Russian mafia, he was forced to do unspeakable things. He suffered through all the moral compromises to fulfill one simple goal, killing the man who murdered his brother. When a mission led him to Bliss, he found something more precious than vengeance. A woman named Holly Lang. Throughout months of living in witness protection, testifying against his former employers, all he could think about was finding his way back to her.

After returning to Bliss, Alexei and his strange new ally Caleb discover that they aren’t the only ones interested in Holly. Someone else is stalking her and appears to want her dead. The only way to discover the identity of the killer is for all three to face up to the secrets of their past and work together to fight for everything they have found in Bliss.

My Review

Bliss, Colorado seems to be a quaint and quirky town where scarred people come to heal and to surround themselves with people who pass no judgment regardless of anyone’s preferences, but what Bliss also appears to draw in are those individuals looking to turn the townspeople’s, both new and old, refuge into a battlefield, causing the typical feel of the town to turn darker and more menacing, which doesn’t bode well for all involved, especially the antagonists who want nothing more than to hurt and maim their targets, not caring who they hurt along the way.

Holly Lang, Dr. Caleb Burke, and Alexei Markov are quite the threesome, not only in their intimate moments, once they figure out how to commandeer the unique situation they find themselves in, but also due to their pasts, their present wants and needs, and the fact that a Mafia hit man feels like he owes a doctor for saving his life and that repayment comes in the form of an older woman who seems more than capable of sharing her body and her heart with these two younger men.

Out of the three main characters, I was drawn to Alexei the most; there’s just something about this ‘exotic’ and ‘dangerous’ man – one who willingly plays a sinister role for vengeance, forcing him to deal with his sins in his own way and then learning to prioritize the things and people in his life, once again, finding himself at a crossroads in terms of what’s best for those closest to him and how it might conflict with the man he’s become. His broken English, his misunderstanding, and his other peculiar habits present Alexei as an authentic character and it’s his uniqueness that will have readers swoony over this skilled killer.

I really enjoyed Holly, Caleb, and Alexei’s story, but I would be remiss if I didn’t also acknowledge the fact that I would love for the story line to diversify a bit when it comes to the series as a whole. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is well done and it’s an enjoyable read, but, sometimes, I feel like the plotlines are too formulaic, following a similar pattern and character dynamics, and I would love to get a variety of connections and conflicts throughout the course of the Bliss series.

Despite my desire for diversification, Found in Bliss fits the series’ themes and illustrates, once again, how Bliss is a place for people to escape to in order to find themselves…find love…find some peace in a chaotic world, and this town and its inhabitants sure know how to come together in times of need and in times of celebration!

“No.” He said the word. He said it a lot, but this time he really, really meant it. Caleb Burke watched as that big Russian stood over sweet Holly, his dark eyes promising all manner of comfort, and he knew he wasn’t ready to let her go.

Of course, he also wasn’t ready to take her.

Fuck.

“No?” Alexei turned to him, seeming to notice for the first time that he wasn’t alone with Holly. Moments before, the Russian had walked into the reception hall where Stefan Talbot and his new wife, Jennifer, were hosting their wedding party. He’d marched in like he owned the place and zeroed in on Holly.

Alexei looked the same as he had months before, but it was easy to tell he’d changed. There was a relaxed set to his shoulders he hadn’t had the last time he was in Bliss. But then the last time Alexei Markov had been in Bliss, it had been as a member of the Russian mob.

“Get your hands off her.”

“My hands are entirely to myself.” And Alexei still had trouble with English.

“Caleb, what’s wrong?” Holly asked, her face turning to him. Wide green eyes stared up at him in confusion. She was so gorgeous. Every time she looked at him, he felt it straight in his gut. And his cock. Damn it. He had to turn away from her.

“You shouldn’t be here.” Caleb couldn’t take his eyes off the Russian. It was nothing less than the truth, though he had selfish reasons for pointing it out. “You’re supposed to be in witness protection.”

Alexei shrugged, his eyes going back to Holly as though her presence was a magnet he couldn’t avoid. “I told you. The trials are over. All the men who worked with Pushkin have been put in proper jails. I finish my testimony last week. I am here today. I am free man.”

Free? After everything he’d done? Alexei Markov had blown into town eight months before as a mobster. Just because he’d turned state’s witness and saved Jennifer Waters and Callie Hollister-Wright didn’t give him a free pass. He tried not to think about the fact that the Russian had saved Holly, too. Alexei had thrown his own body over hers, taking the bullet that would have ended her life. It didn’t erase the crimes he’d committed before. “You killed a bunch of people, and they let you go free?”

“He only killed them to save me, Caleb. And Stef got a couple, too. No one’s talking about putting him in jail.” Holly was already reaching for the Russian’s hands, her face turning upward in greeting. “I’m so happy for you, Alexei. I’m happy they let you come back to Bliss.”

A cloud crossed Alexei’s face telling Caleb everything he needed to know.

“They didn’t let you come back, did they?” Caleb asked. “You’re on the run.”

“No running. I take taxi and then train and then bus. Bus drop off at the Trading Post. It was closed, but Ms. Teeny was kind enough to leave note on door telling me about the wedding.” After his quick explanation, Alexei turned back to Holly. “You look like beautiful doll.”

Caleb grabbed at his tie, loosening it. The damn thing was a noose around his neck. Why had he come to this thing? He should have done what he always did. He should have stayed at home until someone needed him. He should have barricaded himself in his office and stared at medical books until his eyes wouldn’t stay open one second more and he was forced to fall into that hell he called sleep. Yeah, that would have made for a great night. But no, he’d gotten on this monkey suit and headed to the Feed Store Church to attend a wedding, all because he’d wanted to watch Holly walk down the aisle. He’d wanted to see her in a beautiful dress and imagine for one second that she was walking toward him and he was normal. That he was twenty-two again, marrying the right woman this time with his whole life ahead of him.

Not once in that daydream had he included a second man in the scenario, though given where he lived, he should have known that would happen whether he liked it or not.

“Thanks,” Holly said to Alexei, her face lighting up.

Caleb flushed. He hadn’t told her she was beautiful. He’d nodded at her. Why couldn’t he talk to her? He’d been good at this once. He’d gone to parties and balls. Why couldn’t he talk to one small-town waitress?

Because she was the one, but he was too fucked up to deal with it.

“You do look really pretty.” He forced the words out of his mouth. He didn’t say the ones that were locked inside. She didn’t look pretty. She was beautiful. Inside and out. Holly Lang practically glowed in his mind. With auburn hair that curled and caressed her porcelain shoulders, Holly was a vision of everything feminine. She stirred his cock and his mind. He thought about her all the time.

Yeah. He wasn’t going to say any of that.

Holly turned toward him, a vibrant smile on her lips. When she smiled that sunshine-goddess, center-of-his-whole-fucking-world smile, he always thought he would turn into a puddle of goo at her feet. Yeah. That would be really sexy, Burke.

“Tell her more, Caleb. You do well.” Alexei was smiling at him like he was a toddler who’d finally managed to walk.

What the hell was that about?

COVER REVEAL: SUIT by BB Easton

We finally have the cover reveal for the final book in the 44 Chapter Series by BB Easton!

SUIT is coming to Kindle Unlimited on October 18th! Preorder Now.

Title: SUIT
Series: 44 Chapters
Author: BB Easton
Release: October 18

About SUIT

Because BB Easton had so much fun writing her bestselling, award-winning memoir, 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN, she decided to give each of her four men his own steamy standalone. SUIT is Ken’s book—the hilarious, heartwarming tale of how BB finally got over her bad boy phase and found happily ever after with…gasp…a guy in a tie.

“Since when are you into guys in ties? You only like guys who look like they rob guys in ties. At gunpoint.”

It was true. By 2003, my type had been well-established. There might as well have been a giant sign on my heart that said, “Good Guys Need Not Apply.”

Which is exactly why I had to friendzone Ken Easton. The man was a former football star, smelled like fresh laundry instead of stale cigarettes, and had more ties in his closet than tattoos on his knuckles. Pssh. BOR-ING.

But the more I got to know my hunky study buddy, the more questions I came away with. Questions like, why doesn’t he date? Why does he avoid human touch? Why does he hate all things fun and wonderful? The psychology student in me became obsessed with getting inside Ken’s head, while the spoiled brat in me became obsessed with getting inside his heart.

In 2003, I found the one thing I love more than bad boys…

A good challenge.

*SUIT is Book 4 in the 44 CHAPTERS ABOUT 4 MEN spin-off series, but it can be read as a complete standalone.

My Review

Holy Hell, Lock is one hell of a crazy ride!

Einstein and Maverick – how cool are those two names?! And, the fact that their cool factor describes the kind of people they are as well only adds to how intriguing this hero and heroine are.

I haven’t met a heroine like Einstein in quite some time; her intelligence, her perseverance, her courage cannot be matched, and my heart felt her anguish and her suffering when nothing seemed to go as planned. I truly don’t know how someone is supposed to carry the load that she had to and the fact that she didn’t break until she did, speaks to exactly the type of person she is. Einstein’s personality is complex and what I loved most about her was that, just when a character or even me as a reader felt like we had her all figured out, Einstein would expose another layer and we’d need to analyze what that one said about her and her life, which was not an easy challenge.

It’s expected that if the heroine is multifaceted than her hero would be as well, and that is so the case with Maverick. Outwardly, his mobster persona reigns and he owns that part of who he is masterfully, but Maverick is so much more than a kingpin, and much of what he is, is illustrated through his love and devotion to Einstein – the woman he has loved from afar for so long…the same one who tried everything she could to push him away, but still, he persisted and broke down her walls. The complexity of Maverick’s character is what will allow readers to see beyond his powerful and deadly position, and his love for Einstein and what he does for her will endear him to readers regardless of how they feel about his other activities.

There is so much to unravel in Lock, but the key to all of that information is not in the readers’ hand, which means that keeper of the key, Molly McAdams herself, is in total control of what pertinent insights she’ll reveal and when, and while I should be used to that process, for some reason, it drove me beyond nuts and put me on the brink a time or two. My mind is one that requires inferences; it just the way my brain is wired, so the fact that I felt in the dark for much of the first half of the story line and

I couldn’t get enough of Einstein and Maverick; I couldn’t get enough of Molly McAdams’ storytelling and character development; I couldn’t get enough of the romance, the suspense, the desire, and the love that resonates from the pages, and the fact that McAdams didn’t make anything easy or simple for her main characters speaks to how strong Einstein and Maverick are and how much faith the author had that her hero and heroine could endure…could overcome…could be victorious with the cards that they were dealt and what they were up against from the very beginning.

This is what romantic suspense is supposed to be – I was literally on the edge of my seat as I dove deeper into the story line; it gripped me in such a way that I wanted to read faster, but I knew if I tried to push forward too quickly that I wouldn’t savor when the secrets were revealed or when the darkness was no longer so overpowering. I needed to be patient and absorb all of the words and sentences that tell a story unlike one I’ve read in a long time.

Lock is a story and Einstein and Maverick are characters that will stay with me for some time – that’s how addictive and consuming it was!

5 Poison Apples

Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.
