Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Which is a real problem when the attraction runs red-hot.

Despite living in a Floridian hotspot for tourists, she just can’t get her business back off the ground. And she knows why.

Her rival store next door is run by nobody other than her ex, and with his fancy-schmancy concoctions, he’s taking all the clients two generations of her family cultivated. Never mind that Raelynn taught him all he knows, and his revenge for her breaking up with him was putting her plans into reality—and her almost out of business.

But, she has a plan. The height of the season is just two weeks away, and she’s tired of playing second fiddle to her ex. She’s going to take back her crown as the queen of ice cream, even if it means getting close to Chase once again.

After all, all is fair in love and war, and you know what they say about keeping your enemies close…

Although maybe Chase is a little too close…

REVIEW BLITZ: RICHER THAN SIN by Meghan March

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends.

Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes.

I didn’t know or care what her name was.

Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man.

She hates me, and she should.

I objected on her wedding day.

Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger.

They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable.

I’ll never be done with her.

My Review

The Capulets and the Montagues

The Hatfields and the McCoys

The Riscoffs and the Gables

Generational family feuds have always existed, perpetuating from old grudges and they’re carried forward through bloodlines because that’s what’s expected. These opposing families do not live harmoniously and any chance they get to hurt and quite possibly destroy their enemies is taken.

The first feud, albeit a fictitious one, as well as the second dispute, ended in devastation and loss, and based on how much hatred and bad blood exist between the Riscoffs and the Gables in Richer Than Sin, the first book of Meghan March’s Sin Trilogy, the only conclusion that can be made is that Lincoln Riscoff and Whitney Gable’s relationship will only lead to further heartbreak and the continuation of a feud that might very well destroy everyone involved.

I am already enthralled with March’s newest world and characters because through the dual perspectives presented as well as the seamless transition between the past and the present, she has clearly illustrated a forbidden love that still exists, despite the conflict that surrounds it, the decade that has passed since Lincoln and Whitney first gave into their feelings for one another, and the public humiliation that they both have faced due to their illogical decisions.

As readers learn just how deep the feud between the Riscoffs and the Gables goes, how manipulative the older generation of Riscoffs are, and how drastically different the families’ finances and living conditions appear, what’s most clear is that the Gables have nothing more to lose while the Riscoffs are constantly working to secure their wealth and their dominance of the town of Gable as well as the Gables who still live there.

The connection and chemistry between Lincoln and Whitney is evident from their first encounter and while both of them have tried to forget the other one, when Whitney returns home, those old feelings resurface and they’re even stronger despite the amount of time lost and the obstacles that are still in their way. But, here’s where things get a bit dicey, leaving readers with unanswered questions when book one ends because the bombshell that’s revealed is not only something that could upend any progress made between Lincoln and Whitney, but it’s also another reason for the families’ hatred to continue and that can’t mean anything positive for Lincoln and Whitney.

5 Poison Apples

Guilty until proven innocent.

That’s the way the world works, right?

I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.

The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.

If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.

To keep.

To cherish.

I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.

I don’t care what it takes, because failure is not an option.

No matter who or what stands in our way—this time, she’ll be mine forever

EXCERPT REVEAL: THE VOW by Natalie Wrye

Title: The Vow

Author: Natalie Wrye

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: September 10, 2018

Synopsis

Seven years ago, I gave my vow to a man.

Except it wasn’t a wedding…

Because Brett Jackson was the epitome of anti-marriage–a dirty-talking tattoo artist with a penchant for booze, bimbos and blue-eyed women.

I was none of those.

Guess that’s why he walks into my new apartment with my not-so-nice roommate on his arm…as her new boyfriend.

But this is not seven years ago. I’m over him; I really am.
So why does it bother me so much when he catches me naked in my new place?

Why does his searing stare at my body stay with me?

Why am I wishing for a repeat and wanting to break the most important vow I’ve ever made?

A vow that will break both me and Brett…and turn the Manhattan life I’ve built for myself upside down.

Excerpt

Breathless, my body shaking, I pull back just as our kiss begins to deepen, my lips tender to the touch as I lick them. I look up at the brown-haired Adonis holding me close, inhaling as deep as I can. I let go of a shaky breath.

“What are you doing?”

Brett blinks. “What you won’t. What I shouldn’t.” He kisses me chastely, pulling back. “What we need.” He grins. “I couldn’t hold back any longer.”

“You make us sound like dogs on a leash.”

He snorts on a soft laugh, his stare scanning over my lips. “If anyone’s a dog here, it’s me. But I can’t deny you, Elsie.” He gaze goes back up to mine. “I can’t deny this. I know we made a promise. To never cross this line again. But there’s a reason we’re both here in New York. There’s a reason for right now. To be honest… I don’t know what the hell it really is.” His aqua eyes glow. “But I know I want to explore it.” His voice lowers. “Explore you… If you let me, Elsie. All of this—everything—is up to you.”

But I can’t think, let alone move or talk while our bodies are so close. He smells like the rain. Clean and crisp. A fresh, lightly smoky scent, the skin that is pressed against me as is almost as intoxicating as the stare—the one that intensely searches mine, excavating answers, digging deep enough to find only fucking desire, I’m sure. I’m so turned on I can’t speak. My voice is little more than a sigh. I bite my bottom lip, trying to control my tongue.

I fail.

“We can’t throw caution to the wind, Brett. We have Kayla to think about. And even if we didn’t, we have history, too much past. We’ve practically watched each other grow up. Stayed in the same houses.” I scoff out loud, a blush hitting my cheeks that I can feel burn. “For God’s sake, you’ve seen everything. You’ve seen me at my worst.”

He chuckles, a seductive low sound. “My sexy sweet Elsie. You don’t get it, do you? In my eyes… you have no worst.”

Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater. Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a woman from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse. In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe. All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese. That sounds easy enough, right?

Weakness…

Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy. Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one. It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan. It’s simple: Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life. That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a woman so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her. To save her. Even if he has to save her from himself.

ALL THINGS PRETTY

Blurb

Pretending to be something they’re not, afraid to trust anyone completely, destined to tear each other apart– this is the story of unlikely love and unbearable consequences.

Sig Locke is a cop. He was raised by a cop and all his brothers are cops. He bleeds blue, believes in right and wrong, and sees in black and white, never in shades of gray.

But that was before he met Tommi.

Tommi, with her long legs and bright green eyes, she captured Sig’s interest from the moment he saw her. Even after he discovered who she was–the girlfriend of a drug dealer, the beauty behind a criminal–he still found her utterly irresistible. What Sig doesn’t know, however, is that she has a secret even a cop can’t uncover.

Tommi Lawrence hasn’t had an easy life, and it only got more complicated the day she met Sig. She learned long ago that she can’t trust anyone. Her gut tells her that Sig is no exception; her heart tells her that he is. But that was before she found out his real identity.

Excerpt

“I got the bandages you asked for. I’ll grab them,” Shayna said.

Without looking at her, Billy nodded once. She heard the frustrated breath he released as she left the room. When she came back up, he was waiting at the top of the steps. “I got it from here, thanks.”

“I can help—”

“I’ve got it,” he said again, not quite meeting her gaze.

“You helped me, so why can’t I help—”

Shayna.”

Billy.” She understood how guys like Billy and her brother thought. She’d been around enough Rangers to know they hated needing help. But that didn’t mean they didn’t actually need it. “You won’t be able to reach the back of your shoulder. Let me help.”

He let out a harsh breath, then turned away. “Fine.” He disappeared into his bedroom at the back of the hallway.

She followed the rectangle of light spilling from the master bathroom and found him gathering supplies from the medicine cabinet. For a moment, she just stood in the doorway, because she could feel the anger rolling off of him. “I’m sorry if carrying my stupid desk made your shoulder worse.”

He slanted her a look, and it was clear that he was attempting to beat back his frustration. “It didn’t, so don’t worry.”

“I’m kinda predisposed to think things are my fault, so it can’t be helped.”

He frowned, and this time all the frustration bled from his expression. “Why do you say that?”

Because my idiocy and stubbornness killed my brother. That was what she thought, but what she said was, “I don’t know. Old habit.”

Billy shook his head. “Well, this isn’t your fault, Shayna. And I’d be willing to bet that whatever else you’re worrying about isn’t either.” He closed the toilet lid and sat heavily, and Shayna was glad that he looked away, because his words had unleashed a sting at the backs of her eyes. “I hate that I need help with this. Not that you’re the one helping.”

There went her belly again. “Just pretend I’m Ryan,” she said in a quiet voice.

He smirked up at her. “Why would I do that?”

“Because you probably wouldn’t care if a buddy was patching you up, right?”

He shrugged with one big shoulder. “Anyone ever told you that you can be too damn perceptive?”

“I am a photographer, after all. It’s literally my job to notice things.”

“Mine, too,” he said, tossing an appreciative glance over his shoulder. Their gazes collided. Held.

Made Shayna’s heart beat harder. “So, do I need to do anything special or just clean, bandage, tape?” she asked as her gaze scanned over his burn scars.

“Put antibiotic cream on before you bandage. Otherwise, that’s it. And be sure to pat rather than wipe. Because of the movement of the joint, this spot is the one area that has struggled to heal.”

She washed her hands and ran warm water over a wash cloth, then did as he said. “Let me know if I hurt you.”

“You won’t,” he said. “I can’t feel much where its scarred. My nerves are mostly shot back there.”

Shayna debated whether humor would help or hurt the situation, then went for it. “Well, in case you have one left, I don’t want to get on it.”

One beat passed, then another. Billy chuckled, and the sound did funny things to her chest. “Appreciate that, smart ass.”

She put a playful sauciness in her voice as she said, “You noticing my ass, Billy Parrish?”

He didn’t answer, even though his mental debate as to how to respond seemed to ring loudly, making her laugh as she tended to him.

“This is pretty much the same thing I had to do when I got the tattoo on my shoulder,” she said, smoothing antibiotic cream over the rent skin. She grimaced as she did so, not because she found it unpleasant, but because she worried about hurting him despite his reassurances.

“How many tattoos do you have?” he asked in a low voice.

The question reminded her that he’d seen one of them—her most intimate one, and heat filtered into her cheeks as she positioned the bandage. “Four. The one on my hip, and three on my back and shoulders. Once you have one, it’s kinda addicting.”

“Is that right?”

“Mmhmm,” she murmured, concentrating on the tape. “I think the bottom piece of tape might need to wrap under your arm a little to hold it in place. Is that okay?”

“Whatever you say, Goldilocks.”

“That’ll be Dr. Goldilocks to you, ya git.” She smoothed the tape down.

He chuckled again. “What’s with the colorful cursing?”

She grinned. “I grew up with brothers. Am I offending your sensitive ears, Ranger Parrish?”

“Hell, no,” he said. “I’m a fan.”

“There,” she said, surveying her work. Satisfaction warmed her belly, because she’d gotten to help him. And he’d called her pretty. And said he was a fan of the crazy crap that came out of her mouth. “All done.”

He rose and peered in the mirror. “Perfect, Shayna,” he said, their gazes meeting in the mirror.

And she could’ve sworn he said, “Perfect Shayna,” without the pause between. Especially when he looked at her like he was doing right now.

As if she had on far too many clothes. And Jesus did she suddenly agree.

“Any time you need patched up, consider me your girl,” she managed, still meeting the heat in those brown eyes.

Brown eyes whose reflection looked her up and down. “Don’t you mean woman? Consider you my woman?” he teased, throwing her earlier words back at her. “You know, when I need patched up.”

Shayna released a shaky breath. “Yeah. Exactly.”

He gave a slow nod, then turned to look at her directly, bringing them toe to toe. “Then, consider me your man when you need muscle. Now, how about I go move your car and help you build a desk?”

“The always amazing Kaye is kicking off a terrific new contemporary romance series that centers around a wounded warrior’s fight club. Kaye does a beautiful job exploring the fallout from war and PTSD as various characters struggle to cope in their own ways. The love story between Noah Cortez and his childhood friend Kristina Moore is both compelling and touching, for the obstacles in their way loom large. A truly memorable read!”

Excerpt

“We did it, huh?” Tom’s voice brings my attention back to him.“There were moments, I swear to God, Vincent, I thought time would never pass,” he admits.

“We were lucky though.”

“True.” He nods his buzzed head in agreement.

Our prison stay wasn’t as difficult as it is for most inmates. For one thing, the skillsets we were raised on easily translated into prison culture: mental toughness, physical strength, and ability to lead. We also had a pre-existing structure within the system to plug into, as seven of our boys were already doing time.

The waitress steps over to take our orders, a pink apron tied around her short white uniform. She’s young with bleached-blonde hair; I cringe remembering the girl who Eve believes I was with in our bedroom that fateful night. Goddamn, but the memory of watching her heart break in front of my eyes still burns.

Mouth widening in excitement, the waitress stares at Tom as if she just hit the jackpot. His eyes rove her body hungrily, like an animal starved. Not that I blame him. It’s been a long time.

I clear my throat and the waitress turns to me. I order a double cheeseburger, fries, and Coke with extra ice. Apple pie, the same one as the guy in front of me, for dessert.

Instead of writing down my order, the girl’s gaping at me, frozen to the spot. I look at her notepad, then her eyes, silently telling her to get her ass into gear. She swallows, pupils dilating, before finally jotting down my order. She’s attracted but also scared.

“I’ll have the same,” Tom tells her with a crooked smile, causing her to erupt in a nervous giggle.

“Uh, I’ll go get you guys your order.” She scuttles away with a bright red face, and I shake my head at Tom.

“Not even a minute, huh?”

“I’m just glad to see I’ve still got it.” He laughs. “I know what I’m doing tonight, and it isn’t jacking off like I’ve been doing for almost seven years. The first thing I wanna do, after this meal of course, is fuck my brains out.” He grabs the edge of the table and pitches forward to get closer to me. “You think the waitress would take a five-minute break to suck me off in the bathroom? After the burger?”

“Five minutes? I’d put you at thirty seconds.”

He happily shrugs his shoulders. “What about you? I’m sure she’d do us both. Although you might be too much for her.”

“Yeah, you’re right, my ten-inch dick would definitely scare her.” I quirk my mouth in a half smile and Tom laughs out loud.

“Man,” he chuckles. “She took one look at you and almost pissed herself. You got a bad case of resting murder face. As scary as you looked before—you’re worse now.” He laughs. “Those Indian black eyes of yours. Shiiiiit.”

“Native American, you fuck head.” I shake my head at the dig, but he isn’t wrong. I’m bigger and harder than ever. We both are.

“Not my type, anyway,” I reply, leaning back in the booth and crossing my arms over my chest. It’s been a while since I’ve sat without guards watching my every move and the independence is shockingly unnerving.

“I won’t say that bitch’s name, because it makes me sick what she did to us. But tell me you aren’t still thinking about her after all these years.”

I immediately sit up, gripping the edge of the table. “I may be leaving the life, but if I ever hear you talk about her like that again, I’ll kill you. I told you before we were locked up, and I’ll remind you again now that we’re out. She didn’t do shit. I made choices.” I point at my chest with my thumb. “I did those wrongs. What happened to me and you is all. On. Me.”

He leans closer. “Man, this is why you’re supposed to be the Boss.” His voice is a conspiring whisper. “It’s in your blood. Don’t walk away from it, Vincent. You take responsibility for yourself. We both know if the tables were turned, I woulda said the girl had you whipped. But you—”

“I love you like a brother, but I’m not on board with the new direction the family’s rolling in.” I shake my head slowly from side to side. “Just can’t do it anymore.”

“Your dad is gonna freak the fuck out. I mean…” he shakes his head side to side. “Maybe you wanna wear a vest before you have your chat?” It’s spoken in jest, but I can tell Tom is worried. While we’ve discussed my plans about leaving the family for good, my father doesn’t know about my decision yet.

Tom’s chosen to stay inside the fold, unable to see anything in his future outside of the family. If anything, prison solidified his loyalty. Still, we’ve lived our lives side by side since we were born.

Leaving prison together was a given—the family made sure of it. While we’d never admit it to each other, parting ways is unsettling. Still, it’s just the way life goes. I know the conversation with my father won’t be easy, but truth? I’d rather die than keep this shit up and I’ve spent years now coming to terms with it.
