Genre: Sports/Romantic Comedy

Release Date: June 25, 2018

Cover designed by: Letitia Hasser at RBA Designs

Grip it softly.

Stroke it smooth.

And you’ll sink right into the hole. That’s my motto both on and off the golf course. The women come in full supply everywhere I go and there are no complaints. Maybe it’s the size of my driver that gets them going.

I’m Lucas “Ace” Montgomery, professional golfer and world record holder for the longest drive in golf history. The PGA Tour has been my life, but it’s time for a break. A few relaxing weeks of drinking and golf with friends in Myrtle Beach is what I need. However, when a bright pink ball knocks me out on the course, and a blonde beauty comes to my aid, I expect to see a gallery girl, a.k.a a member of the Party Groupie Association. Trust me, those girls know how to have fun. Although, to my surprise, it’s not what I get at all.

Dr. Ashley Locke is beautiful and everything I’d want if I was ever to get serious about someone. Unfortunately, she has no interest in me whatsoever which only makes me want her more. All she wants is to get through her friend’s bachelorette weekend and go back to her life. But after injuring me on the course, I’m not letting her run away so easily. When I want something, I get it.

I’m not competing for money this time. All I want is to win her heart.

I’m a sports romance junkie, so when I find one about a sport that I haven’t read a lot of stories about, I’m eager to enter this new sports world and see how the hero and the heroine interact as well as how the game of golf, both brings the couple together and perhaps works to drive them apart.

Lucas “Ace” Montgomery has spent the last 9 years winning several PGA championships, proving that his skills on the golf course are just as savvy as his

smooth moves with the ladies; both aspects of Lucas’ life seem effortless…that is until he meets Dr. Ashley Locke, a woman who wants nothing to do with Mr. Long Driver for the very things that have made him newsworthy and appealing to just about every woman alive…too bad the one he wants doesn’t want her personal life on display or to become a part of the media circus that surrounds Lucas’ life due to his ‘newsworthy’ extracurricular activities.

Ashley Locke is a relatable heroine because so many readers understand the need to be professional due to one’s career. For Ashley, though, it’s not only the fact that she’s an accomplished doctor but it’s also the fact that she and her brother took over their father’s family practice, meaning if negative press occurs due to Ashley’s personal choices then she feels like she’s letting her father and her brother down, which she refuses to do.

But it’s clear, early on, that Ashley and Lucas share a connection that deserves to be explored, and while the false pretenses they hooked up on might make things a bit difficult, given Lucas’ tenacity in claiming what he wants, it’s only a matter of time before Lucas proves to Ashley that he’s more than the ‘egoistical, panty-snatching whoremongerer’ that she perceives him as and if Ashley would take a chance and live in the moment with Lucas, she just might find that the only person she should care about and trust is the one known as Mr. Long Driver.

The double entendre at play in the title of Lucas and Ashley’s story definitely fits Lucas’ initial goal when it comes to what he wants with Ashley, but somewhere along the way, it becomes about so much more than sinking the putt and with his newfound clarity, Lucas makes it his mission to win his most important championship, the one that has Ashley’s heart as the grand prize.

Going For The Hole is a humorous, fun-loving and steamy read. Its low angst and good hearted nature makes it the perfect summer romance, and while it’s a bit predictable in certain parts of the plot line, it doesn’t deter from the enjoyment of the story because Ashley’s sass puts Lucas’ cockiness in its place and the work Lucas does to prove himself to Ashley is definitely sweet and endearing.

4 Poison Apples

“When can I see you again?”

I shook my head. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“I took a needle in the ass for you. Surely, that deserves more of your attention?”

Why did he always have to give me that devilish smile of his? As much as I wanted to hate it, I couldn’t. “Why are you doing this? Can’t you find someone else?”

“Of course I can, but I want you. We can have secret meetings in here if you’re still embarrassed to be seen in public with me.”

I rolled my eyes. “I’m not embarrassed. You’re you, and I’m a respectable member of society.”

He burst out laughing. “Okay, I see how it is.”

“I just don’t want the publicity,” I added. “You can understand that, right? You of all people should know what it’s like not to have privacy.”

His smile faded. “You’re right, I do, but it’s my life. I can’t change who I am.” My body shivered with the intensity of his stare. “For once, I thought I’d found someone who wanted me for me and not my money or fame.”

Guilt racked my body and I sighed. “Okay, I give in. I can see you tomorrow, after I get out of the spa. Maybe we can order in room service.”

Eyes twinkling, he went over to the door and opened it. “Now that’s a plan I can get behind.”

Before I could walk out, he stood in my way, body close to mine. “I’m going to break through that ice wall of yours, sunshine. One way or another.”

I batted my eyelashes in an innocent matter. “Good luck with that.”

Blindsided and dumped.

I thought that Aiden McManus was my forever, my soulmate,
That was until he told me he was still in love with his ex.

I didn’t want to believe him.

Believing that, helped me get through those first months.

But after a while, I realized I just might be lying to myself.
And it was time to move on…

So, I moved on. Or tried to move on, anyway.
But that didn’t work out so well for me, either.
And it practically got me disowned from my family.

After that, I finally started to get my life back together,
I had everything back under control…
…Or so I thought.

Until I found out Aiden was back

And now he’s everywhere I turn,
Still pushing me away,

About the Author

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

BLOG TOUR: REVIEW, EXCERPT, AND GIVEAWAY: The Varlet and the Voyeur by Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway

BANNER-BlogTour.jpg

The Varlet and the Voyeur, an all-new standalone in the USA Today bestselling Rugby Series from Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway is available NOW!

Cover

He kept his salacious secret for years. But soon, everyone is going to be reading about it in their morning paper…

THE VARLET (and the VOYEUR)

William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he’s now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn’t the clean-cut, all-American good-guy everyone imagines him to be. He’s got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever.

THE VOYEUR (and the VARLET)

Josey Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she’s finally get her shi…uh, act together. She’s set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there’s one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Josey homeless and in need of a job to pay her way through college.

THE PLAN

What he needs is a companion to keep him on the right path.

What she needs is an apartment with free rent.

Will is convinced Josey will make the perfect companion, since she’s brutally honest and basically ‘just one of the guys.’ Josey is convinced she can ensure Will doesn’t succumb to his voyeuristic proclivities by keeping a scrupulous eye on him.

Except, what happens when the varlet is tempted by the voyeur, and vice-versa?!

Perchance something very, very volatile. And vexing.

The Varlet and the Voyeur is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the 4th(and last) book in the USA TODAY bestselling Rugby Series.

My Review

“We’re all the underdog in our own story.”

Josey Kavanaugh could not have explained life any better, and as the newest heroine in Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway’s co-written Rugby series, there’s definitely truth for her in that statement because regardless of how others see people’s quirks, oddities or strange behaviors, they’re always their own biggest critic, which is why her new living arrangement may be more difficult than she thinks.

Those who have been around Josey see a babbling, flustered, and embarrassing woman who doesn’t understand boundaries and who says stupid and sometimes inappropriate things when she’s in mixed company. They see someone who has a tendency of putting her foot in her mouth and annoying others with her non sequitur tendencies.

Those who have been around Will Moore, before information about his private life and sexual tendencies were released to the public, see a reserved, quiet, and pensive man with no social life but also an athlete who plays one hell of a good game of rugby. They see someone who’s a bit of a loner and a country boy due to where he’s from back in the States.

Those who have been around both Josey and Will see two people who couldn’t be more different, but it’s those differences that make them the perfect team in order to fix Will’s image issue and provide Josey with a place to live and a way to continue her goal of becoming a veterinarian. It’s Josey’s ability to fill the room with words and sounds that soothes Will and allows him to stay on the straight and narrow when it comes to his voyeuristic tendencies. Those who know both Will and Josey don’t see this arrangement working out, but that’s only because they don’t take the time to see how refreshing Josey’s honesty, curiosity, and uniqueness is for someone like Will…someone who needs to be distracted and kept an eye on so that his particular kink doesn’t compromise his position on his team or have him crossing boundaries that he’s not comfortable with, because regardless of the bad press he’s receiving lately, Will is definitely a man of principles…a controlled man who needs rules and clear expectations with minimal risks, or when it comes to Josey, he needs to feel like he can trust her and trust himself, which takes time and quite a bit of overthinking, but it definitely seems that these two together can be what the other one needs and maybe even what they never knew they wanted.

I really liked both Will and Josey. They both got stuck in their head a lot but given their quirks and people’s perceptions, it wasn’t surprising. As soon as Will proposed to hook up with Josey in Australia, I knew that it was going to be impossible for either of them to give only their bodies to one another because there was an attraction there from the beginning, which means feelings were bound to become a factor, sooner rather than later.

Will and Josey are definitely unique characters – ones whose quirky mentalities might not mesh well with some readers, but its their uniqueness that endeared them to me, especially Josey; in my opinion, she’s a very relatable heroine. I found myself embarrassed for her at times and also heartbroken because of the way she felt people’s judgments of her. I love that Will truly sees her from their very first interaction, and he accepts everything she is; in fact, he embraces her oddities, which is quite refreshing given the ways of society.

I’m so sad to see this series end; each story was extremely entertaining and I also say that Reid and Cosway write some of the best smart romance around. I sincerely hope they co-wrote another series sometime soon because I know I’m not the only fan who can’t get enough of the tales that they together.

*Will*

When I saw how spotless the shared living space was, I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me and peeked my head into her bathroom, Rocky dancing around my feet as I entered the space. The counters were covered in woman-products, but the marble surface and sink were free of water spots, and the glass of the shower had been wiped clean.

I glanced at Rocky. He glanced at me. Bemused, I chuckled to myself, about to turn back to the door, and that’s when I spotted it.

A dildo.

A big, Pyrex dildo.

With ridges.

In the shower.

I froze, blinked, and I stared at it, my brain sluggish. Oddly, I had to remind myself to breathe. Likely because I was . . .

I was—

I was shocked.

I shook myself, tearing my eyes from it and rubbing my chest where an odd kind of pang was spreading mild warmth up my neck.

But why was I shocked?

Why should I be surprised?

Despite my never seeing her that way, Josey was a woman and women have needs.

Don’t they?

I hadn’t grown up around women—any women. My mother died when she had my youngest brother. My grandmother died before I was born. I had no sisters. We lived on a farm, way out in BFN Oklahoma.

Girls—women—and their bodies were sacred lands of the unknown to us Moore boys.

Unbidden—completely unbidden—an image of Josey flashed through my mind’s eye. Her full lips parted, her big eyes closed, causing her thick black lashes to catch droplets of water before they dripped over her sharp cheekbones. Her head would be lolled back as shower spray melted bubbles of slippery soap, sliding down her bare skin as they dissolved. Her legs would be parted, and maybe one hand would be braced against the wall of the shower while the other moved in a steady rhythm.

Holding that huge, glass dildo.

I swallowed a sudden rush of salvia and, unable to help myself, I leaned closer to the sex toy, examining it and comparing its size against my own.

I was bigger.

But not by much.

And for some reason, this realization made me instantly hard.

Crap.

Of course I knew Josey was a woman, but until this moment, I’d never really thought of her that way. Not even the tampon-mountain drove the point home. Up until this point, she was someone I liked as a person, someone who made me laugh, who was smart and compassionate, someone around whom I felt completely comfortable. A good—no, a great companion.

She was still all of those things, except—

Except now I’ve pictured her naked.

RELEASE REVIEW BLAST WITH EXCERPT: CHASING HIM by Kennedy Fox

John Bishop isn’t your typical single dad.

Reserved, impatient, and utterly clueless.

Running the family’s bed and breakfast has many perks. Working long hours, picking up after the guests, and hearing couples going at it all night long aren’t any of them. Hooking up with girls who come to the ranch for horseback riding lessons? Best perk of them all.

That is until a baby shows up at his doorstep with a note claiming it’s his. Growing up on a ranch was anything but easy, but raising a newborn is proving to be the hardest task he’ll ever tackle. Leaving the bachelor life behind, his only priority is to hire a nanny who can teach him a thing or two about parenting—except he doesn’t anticipate her being gorgeous and quirky with an unhealthy football obsession.

Mila Carmichael has many talents—making balloon animals, creating origami art, and remaining in the friend zone. Often seen as one of the guys, she’s struck out more times than a rookie baseball player.

Seeking a new adventure, she flies to Texas to visit family and is offered a position she can’t refuse. Helping out a new dad should come easy to her, considering her past experience, but what she doesn’t anticipate is him being an attractive Southern temptation.

But that’s only the beginning.

While growing close to his family and falling madly in love with the baby girl who’s stealing their hearts, things are bound to get complicated. Everyone knows not to mix business with pleasure. That means no late movie nights, no stolen glances, and definitely no kissing behind closed doors. Too bad the universe has other plans—one that’ll threaten taking away the main thing that binds them together.

My Review

John and Jackson Bishop may be twins, but they are about as opposite as they come. But ladies, don’t let John’s reserved demeanor and thoughtful countenance deter you from choosing the quiet one of this Bishop pair because John Bishop has an amazing heart and the capacity to love with everything that he is, and even though he’s not as ‘in your face’ as his counterpart, John doesn’t lack self-esteem; it’s just his fears that seem to catch him up when it comes to a woman meaning something to him other than a night in his bed, and while John never imagined his life would be forever changed in the ways that it is when a certain little lady enters his life, he wouldn’t take back those stolen moments with Maize’s mom, claiming his daughter with every fiber of his being, or finding a way past his fears in order to have the life that he and his baby girl deserve.

I absolutely adored Mila Carmichael. She’s a sassy, intelligent, and caring woman who is known as the ‘baby whisperer’ because she knows exactly what children need and has a way of putting them at ease just by her warm presence. Her decision to leave her hometown in Georgia to visit her gram in Texas might have been in order to chase away her blues over something that will never be, what she doesn’t know is that it’s in Texas where she’ll actually find a family, a little girl, and one gorgeous man who shows her heart what it’s always needed.

There’s nothing like being around the Bishop family, and throughout the course of Kennedy Fox’s Bishop Brothers series, readers have proclaimed themselves as honorary members, which I think Mama Bishop wouldn’t mind too much because she is always so welcoming and giving of her time and her care. It’s amazing when the Bishops rally around each other and keep one another in check, and as the family continues to grow, the love and warmth that surrounds each and every one of them is something that every human being should have or at least experience in their lifetime because it illustrates the importance of family and what a gift it is to have people by one’s side regardless of the mistakes or negative situations that occur, and because the Bishops have Jackson to contend with, there’s bound to be a shitstorm or two to deal with because he’s a loose cannon that loves to rile his family up at all times.

Chasing Him is a slow burn romance – one that showcases the different types of love that are essential to have in one’s life. There are a lot of unexpected circumstances in John and Mila’s story, and while some are easier to deal with than others, what stands out is the fact that despite wanting to run away when John and/or Mila become overwhelmed, they work through things and gain quite a perspective because of it.

The biggest lesson that John and Mila’s story teaches readers is to not leave anything unsaid…to say the things that might be difficult or result in negative consequences because life is too short not to risk things. Time is precious, especially when life gives someone the person who was meant to be his, which means that fears need to be chased away in order to chase one’s dreams, even if they get redesigned along the way.

John’s POV

As soon as I walk into the living room, I see Mila in tight blue jeans and a low cut shirt that shows way too much cleavage.

“Nope.” Resting my hands on my hips, I look at her, trying not to stare at her chest. It doesn’t help that her nipples are hard as a damn rock either. Fuck. Eyes up.

“Nope, what?” she asks, furrowing her brows in confusion as she grabs Maize out of the swing.

“You can’t wear that shirt. Actually, we should probably set some ground rules since you’ll be staying here around the clock.”

Mila rolls her eyes and kneels down in front of the carseat. She’s dressed Maize in an outfit that says something about Grandma being her favorite, and I know Mama is going to love it. “Is that what you do ‘round here? Make rules for everyone?” She arches an eyebrow with a cocky smirk on her face.

Tilting my head, I narrow my eyes and study her. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Ask Jackson.” She carefully places Maize in the car seat and straps her in. I suck in a deep breath remembering the nanny rules I’d given Jackson, the ones she wasn’t supposed to hear.

“Jackson needs rules. He has zero boundaries. And it’s not like he listens to anyone anyway. Trust me. It’s an open invitation to flirting and ridiculous comments from him. So you can’t be wearing shirts like that around him.”

“…or I can’t be wearing shirts like this around you?” she quips, not paying any attention to how frustrated I’m becoming. “I think I can handle Jackson, so stop worrying yourself.”

“Whatever, Mila.”

She straightens up and looks me dead in the eyes. “You’re my boss and you can make any crazy rules you want when it comes to your baby, but you don’t get to tell me what I can and can’t wear, unless you’re instating a dress code for me and if that’s the case, I want a raise and a clothes allowance then.”

I scoff, crossing my arms over my chest that’s rising and falling rapidly. “How much for you to wear baggy overalls and turtlenecks every day?”

“You’ve got jokes, do you?” she mutters, not amused. “Why not just put a chastity belt on me too while you’re at it?”

I grunt, thinking that’s not a bad idea actually.

COVER REVEAL AND GIVEAWAY: Twisted Secrets by Ace Gray

Title: Twisted Secrets

Author: Ace Gray

Genre: Dark Romance/Erotic Romance

Release Date: July 26, 2018

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40529695-twisted-secrets

Cover Designer: Bex Harper Designs. https://www.bexharperdesigns.com/

My whole life, there had only been one rule. Don’t go to Chicago. It always made me feel like a damsel in distress, trapped in a tower. But my life was filled with kings and queens and the most noble knights and I didn’t need another fairytale.

I needed a bad boy.

Brye McCowan was just that. He was smooth, and seductive. Dark, dangerous and downright drool worthy too. I saw trouble swirling around him in place of a shadow. He was my one rule personified.

And I couldn’t stop myself from kissing him.

Which was right about the time that whole fairytale thing kicked back in. Only this time I wasn’t surrounded by heroes. These were the villains, wicked and vengeful. And Brye was one of them. When all was said and done, when all the blood was spilled, the only thing more tormenting than the dungeon he threw me in was knowing it was my family’s twisted secrets that put me there.

Ace Gray is a self-proclaimed troublemaker and connoisseur of both the good life and fairy tales. After a life-long love affair with books, she undertook writing the novel she wanted to read, which culminated in her first release STRICTLY BUSINESS and followed with, well, quite a few more. When she’s not writing, she works in craft beer. Originally a small town, Colorado girl, she now loves rainy days, shellac manicures, coffee shops and bourbon—all of which are bountiful in her adopted home of Portland, OR where she runs amok with her chef husband and husky pup.

“Cry Baby is brilliantly written. It’s hauntingly beautiful and heartbreaking and will leave you thinking about it for days afterward. Bravo, Ms. Scott. This boy-man stole my heart and I don’t want it back.”

– L.J. Shen, Bestselling Author

Blurb

Tristan Lopez is loyal to his brothers. He doesn’t really have a choice, born into a gang that has a chokehold on every kid that roams its streets. He gave his life to them willingly, knowing if he did then one day this kingdom, led by boys drunk with power and ruled by fear, would all be his.

He was loyal through it all. Loyal when prison took his dad away. Loyal when his face was touched by the cold metal of the rival gang’s gun. Loyal even though his mom begged him to run the moment she returned home from rehab.

He thought about becoming someone else. It was hard not to crave the life of a regular 17-year-old. It’s the only reason he stayed in school—to pretend. But he always fell back in line.

Loyal.

Riley Rojas didn’t belong in Tristan’s real world. She should have only been part of the fantasy, one of the many faces he got to pretend with amidst rows of metal chairs and desks and whiteboards with assignments. But there she was, moving boxes from the back of an old pick-up into a house Tristan had shot up on a dare with his friends only a few months before.

Tall enough to look him in the eyes and strong enough to fill his shadow, Riley took up space on his streets, her loud mouth fearless in the face of the gang leaders who terrified everyone else. She pushed Tristan around on the hard court, and she balled better than his friends—better than him
sometimes. She challenged him. She needed him. He liked it. And when her pale blue eyes stared into his, he quit wanting to pretend.

He couldn’t ask her to leave because she’d only dig her heels in deeper. He couldn’t ask because he didn’t want her to go. She was blurring his lines. She was testing his loyalty.

He was falling in love.

And it was going to tear him apart.

My Review

I’m hanging my head in shame right now because Cry Baby is my first Ginger Scott read! BUT, it’s not that I don’t have a plethora of Scott’s books on my Kindle, because I do, it’s just about finding the time to read all of the words of so many amazing authors.

I do have to admit, though, that it did take me a bit to get into Tristan and Riley’s story, partly because I needed some time to get used to Scott’s storytelling and the way she sets up the exposition of her text, and partly because I don’t read too many YA, even Mature YA, reads, so putting myself in the right frame of mind took awhile. BUT, I was beyond enthralled by Cry Baby the deeper I got into the plot line and the more Scott developed both Tristan and Riley’s characters, and by the time I read the last page of the story, I knew I had another author whose words and characters appealed to me in a multitude of ways.

It’s clear that Tristan needed someone to tell him he had a choice when it came to the path he led, and while he was always adamant that he didn’t have a say…that his life was already dictated for him at the age of 10 and even more so when Dub branded his mark on Tristan’s skin, Tristan, albeit subconsciously, did crave a way out – one that didn’t result in his demise, and what was also clear is that it couldn’t be someone who was already a part of his life because their voices and their thoughts had already been swirling around in Tristan’s conscience, but it never took hold the way it did when Riley entered his life and refused to be quieted.

‘If you don’t want to try to make a change this way, Tristan, then I’m going to find another way. For as long as I have access to you, I’m not going to stop. This road you’re on, it’s got you so twisted, and I…God, Tristan, I see it. I can smell it in the air when we talk, and I can taste it. It’s so sour and bitter, and I know it’s making you sick. It’s making me sick for you, Tristan. And yeah, I know I have no idea how bad it actually is, but I know more than you give me credit for. I see your map, and I’m begging you to just look at this alternate route I’m showing you. You don’t have to go this way, Tristan. You can turn.’

These aren’t Riley’s words, but due to Riley’s presence, this speech and its ideas took hold of Tristan and forced him to ‘make a change,’ not only for himself but for a girl who has come to mean so much to him in a short amount of time, and while the resolution of the albatross he wears when it comes to the Fifty-Seven gang doesn’t have an easy fix, he still needs to attempt to carve a new path because it’s the only way he’ll truly be able to be his own man and make his own decisions.

Nothing is guaranteed in life and Tristan and Riley learned that lesson at an early age, and while Tristan has never seen a different path as more than a fantasy, the girl who’s heard his hard truths and didn’t run and keeps showing up proves that regardless of how difficult it is to no longer be nicknamed ‘Cry Baby’ and no longer be under the thumb of a deviant and dangerous man, there’s a way out…there’s a different way to go and it’s a way that makes everything he’s ever wanted a reality.

Ginger Scott is a fantastic storyteller, and the lessons that she teaches throughout the course of her stories are worthwhile for readers of any age. Tristan and Riley’s journey is extremely difficult but it’s also incredibly transformative for both of them, and through their harrowing battles…through their challenging decisions, they supersede their environment and the circumstances that surround them, resetting the course of their lives, both individually and together.

On the day I turned fifteen years old I knew I loved James Blakney. There was a look in his eye that told me he’d finally noticed I existed in a realm beyond best-friend’s-much-younger-off-limits-don’t-even-think-about-it-little-sister. Call it womanly intuition, despite the fact I was barely qualified for being an actual woman at just fifteen—and only in the biological sense—but still, I knew I loved him.

What I never expected from him was a proposal of marriage nearly eight years later. I know it’s not supposed to be a real marriage, but James is certainly making it feel that way.

He’s also hiding something from me.

But I’ve hidden the truth from him as well.

Lies.

So many filthy lies.

RELEASE BLITZ AND REVIEW: Light My Fire by J. Kenner

LIGHT MY FIRE RB BANNERLight My Fire, an all-new sexy standalone by #1 New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner, is LIVE!

11 - November - Light My Fire

I don’t do relationships.

I’ve lived my life hiding my scars, revealing myself only the in the scripts I write and the characters I voice.

Few people know the real me. I’m too careful. Too afraid of getting burned all over again.

Enter Beverly Martin. A movie star. A woman so beautiful and caring she makes my heart ache. She says she wants me—and her touch almost makes me believe that a girl like her could love a man like me.

But being with her would mean letting the spotlight of fame shine on me, too. And I’m not sure I can do that—even if walking away means losing the woman I love.

**Light My Fire is part of a binge read series by New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, and #1 International bestselling author of the million copy Stark series, J. Kenner.

Each book in the series is a STANDALONE novel with NO cliffhanger and a guaranteed HEA!

My Review

Readers who are up-to-date with J. Kenner’s Man of the Month series are no stranger to Light My Fire’s leading man, Griffin, but even though we’ve seen him in the background and in his interactions with the other couples of the series, it’s not until his own story that we’re introduced to the ‘real’ Griffin, the one who prefers to work and live behind-the-scenes…the one whose internal and external scars dictate how he lives his life and who he allows inside his inner circle. That’s the Griffin that readers have been waiting to meet and that’s the man who deserves his happily ever after, just like all the men of the month that have come before him.

But while The Fix on 6th has become Griffin’s home away from home, allowing him to become friends with a small group of people, who feel more like family, accept him as he is, there’s still something missing from his life, and even though he’s not one to put himself in the spotlight nor does he feel worthy of a beautiful woman like Beverly Martin, there comes a point where Griffin cannot deny his attraction to her or his need to be by her side, even if it makes him feel

J. Kenner paired Griffin up with his perfect girl because despite the fact that Beverly is a movie star and used to being in the spotlight, she’s a caring and down-to-earth woman who has been enamored with Griffin, first through his words and then through the man who he is beyond the scars, and while it’s not an easy challenge to take on, Beverly understands its importance and willingly takes on this difficult role because it’s one that will ensure her the best life and partner possible.

It amazes me how much story J. Kenner packs into these Man of the Month stories; it’s a fast-paced read that builds a complete plot and develops the personalities of its main characters and while I’m sure there would be even more development and characterization if the stories were a bit longer, the texts are meant to be quick, standalone steamy romances with a ‘guaranteed happily ever after,’ and each one definitely fills that role.
