BANNER-ReleaseDay.jpg

The Varlet and the Voyeur, an all-new standalone in the USA Today bestselling Rugby Series from Penny Reid and L.H. Cosway is LIVE!

Cover.jpg

He kept his salacious secret for years. But soon, everyone is going to be reading about it in their morning paper…

THE VARLET (and the VOYEUR)

William Moore is a long way from home. A farm boy from Oklahoma, he’s now the most well-respected member of the Irish rugby team. But appearances are often deceptive, and Will isn’t the clean-cut, all-American good-guy everyone imagines him to be. He’s got a secret, one that will tarnish his reputation forever.

THE VOYEUR (and the VARLET)

Joesy Kavanagh is a self-proclaimed mess, but she’s finally get her shi…uh, act together. She’s set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, but there’s one teeny tiny road bump. Her living arrangements are coming to an abrupt end, leaving Joesy homeless and in need of a job to pay her way through college.

THE PLAN

What he needs is a companion to keep him on the right path.

What she needs is an apartment with free rent.

Will is convinced Joesy will make the perfect companion, since she’s brutally honest and basically ‘just one of the guys.’ Joesy is convinced she can ensure Will doesn’t succumb to his voyeuristic proclivities by keeping a scrupulous eye on him.

Except, what happens when the varlet is tempted by the voyeur, and vice-versa?!

Perchance something very, very volatile. And vexing.

The Varlet and the Voyeur is a full-length romantic comedy novel, can be read as a standalone, and is the 4th(and last) book in the USA TODAY bestselling Rugby Series.

COVER REVEAL: Beautiful Hearts Duet by Emma Scott

BRING DOWN THE STARS – Release Day – JULY 26th

I fell for Connor Drake. I didn’t want to; I fought against it, but I fell in love with him anyway. With his words. With his poetry. With him. The gentleness and beauty of his soul that speaks directly to mine. He writes as if he can feel my heart, hear its cadence and compose the exact right lyrics to accompany every beat and flow.

I’m in love with Connor…so why do I feel an inexplicable pull to his best friend, Weston? Grouchy, sullen, brooding Weston Turner, who could cut you down with a look. Fiercely intelligent with a razor sharp wit and acid tongue, he’s the exact opposite of Connor in every way, and yet there’s electricity in the air between us. The thorny barbs Weston wraps around himself can’t keep me away.

But the more time I spend with these men, the more tangled and confused my emotions become. When they both sign up for the Army Reserves during a time of increasing strife in the Middle East, I fear I’ll never unravel my own heart that sometimes feels as if it will tear straight down the middle…for both of them.

About MOORE THAN A FEELING (7/27/18):

“Holly and Aiden broke up? Seriously? No way. Not those two.”

Dumped.
No, not only dumped.
Blindsided and dumped.

I thought that Aiden McManus was my forever, my soulmate,
That was until he told me he was still in love with his ex.

I didn’t want to believe him.
So, I convinced myself that our break-up was because of his upcoming deployment,
and not because he didn’t love me.
Believing that, helped me get through those first months.

But after a while, I realized I just might be lying to myself.
And it was time to move on…

So, I moved on. Or tried to move on, anyway.
But that didn’t work out so well for me, either.
And it practically got me disowned from my family.

After that, I finally started to get my life back together,
I had everything back under control…
…Or so I thought.

Until I found out Aiden was back

And now he’s everywhere I turn,
Still pushing me away,
telling me he doesn’t want me.

But every time he calls me Angel or reaches out to touch my cheek,
I know what he’s not admitting to himself –
He still loves me.

And I’m going to prove it to him.

RELEASE REVIEW AND EXCERPT: COWBOY MOST WANTED by Stina Lindenblatt

A sexy romantic comedy about a hot cowboy, some racy photos, and an accidental hook up—or three—with his best friend’s sister…

Sexy cowboy TJ Daniels loves Norse mythology, Marvel comics, horses, and dirty talk. Not necessarily in that order. When his brother signs him up for a new Bachelorette-Style reality show centered around a female star looking for love with a cowboy, TJ reluctantly agrees to do it, knowing that it will be great publicity for the ranch.

What he didn’t figure on is the show’s photographer being Violet Brooks. Violet is TJ’s gun-toting best friend’s little sister. She’s the same woman who left the small Montana town ten years ago and never looked back. And yep, she’s the same woman he lusted after when he shouldn’t have. And still does.

So when the pre-show marketing photo shoot involves channeling his inner underwear model—with Violet as the photographer—TJ ends up losing his shirt. His pants. And, if he’s willing to risk everything—including his place on the show that could save his struggling ranch—his heart could be on the line as well.

My Review

In keeping with my goal of reading new-to-me authors this year, I chose Stina Lindenblatt and her newest release, Cowboy Most Wanted because who doesn’t love an alpha male who knows how to fill out a tight pair of Levis and works just as hard as he plays?!?!

In the first book of Lindenblatt’s Copper Creek series, she introduces readers to the Daniels brothers – three sexy cowboys who know how to have fun, cause chaos, and leave quite the trail of enamored women. Cowboy Most Wanted is about the oldest Daniels’ brother, TJ and his long-time crush, Violet Brooks. They’ve known each other since they were young, but they haven’t seen one another for 10 years, after Violet left home and never looked back. What neither TJ nor Violet ever realized, though, is the fact that they’ve had crushes on each other for quite some time, but therein lies the problem because not only is TJ Violet’s older brother’s best friend, but TJ also finds himself on a ‘bachelorette-style’ reality television show in order to save the family’s ranch, so the fact that Violet’s a member of the reality show’s staff threatens to not only ruin his chance of being the bachelorette’s final cowboy but also destroy his friendship with Violet’s brother.

The story line does seem a bit unorthodox given what this cowboy needs to do in order to try and save his family’s ranch, but it’s also what allows TJ and Violet to reconnect, and while there’s a significant amount of landmines that could upend anything significant happening between these two, they can’t seem to keep their attraction or their desire for one another in check, so they’ll need to determine what that means for TJ’s ranch, Violet’s career, and their relationships with family members and make sure that the risk is worth it.

I enjoyed TJ and Violet’s story. The Daniels brothers are an amazing group of men who definitely know how to sweet talk and dirty talk with the best of them. I loved the banter between brothers and it was interesting to see behind-the-scenes when it comes to a reality dating show. When things heat up between TJ and Violet, giving in to what they’ve always felt for one another, the way their bodies move together and the steamy and sensual encounters they have illustrate just how good they could be together and why TJ has always been Violet’s most wanted cowboy.

4 Poison Apples

Excerpt

I’ve never done drugs.

Okay, let me change that to, I’ve never done illegal drugs—the kinds of drugs that alter your perception of reality. I’ve never felt the need to.

But at this moment, my first thought is that God has rolled a massive joint and is blowing smoke in my face.

That’s the only explanation for why Violet is standing there, wearing cowboy boots and a lacy white dress that reveals mouthwatering long legs. Long legs that when I was a teen caused many a morning wood.

It’s all a delusion.

And since it is just a delusion, why shouldn’t I get to enjoy it some more?

I go back to checking out the view.

Violet’s shiny brown hair brushes against her bare shoulders. The hair I long to run my fingers through, to see if it feels as soft as it looks. The shoulders I crave to kiss, to lick, to taste.

Around her waist is the gift I gave her for her seventeenth birthday: a western leather belt with a horse’s head engraved on the buckle. In retrospect, the gift might not have been a good idea—if Austin’s comments back then were any indication. After he witnessed her innocently kissing my cheek, he pulled me aside and interrogated me. Interrogated me as to why I gave her the present. Interrogated me as to my intentions when it came to his sister—only he didn’t state it quite so nicely.

And then he made it clear what he would do to me if my thoughts about her were less than brotherly.

That was before he spent eight years in the military.

I’m sure he has since added to the list. Added newly acquired torture techniques. All with the Navy SEALs’ stamp of approval.

Let the fun times commence.

“This should be interesting,” Jake says, low enough so only I hear him. His tone is sitting on the fence. Cracking up is on one side, concern on the other. And right now, his tone is tottering more on the laughter side of things. “And by the way, you might want to close your mouth before it fills up with horseflies.”

I snap my mouth shut.

Guess that clarifies some stuff. I’m not suffering from a delusion.

I wished that Violet would return to Copper Creek and bam! My wish came true.

Except…I also prayed that the show would be canceled. So maybe my guardian angel or fairy godmother—or whatever the heck it is—is only a rookie. She could only finagle the first wish.

Oh, well. One out of two ain’t half-bad.

“What should be interesting?” I ask, unable to take my eyes off Violet, even though my brain is screeching, Mayday, mayday, mayday and demanding I look away.

“TJ,” Camilla says before Jake can reply. “This is Violet Brooks, our super talented photographer. Violet, this is our cowboy, TJ Daniels, and his brothers, Jake and Noah.” She points to each of them in turn.

That explains why Aubrey is here. She and Violet have been best friends as long as Austin and I have been the same. She knew Violet was part of the TV crew.

“We actually know each other,” Violet says. “TJ has been my brother’s best friend since we were kids.” Her gorgeous brown eyes, alive with flecks of amber, slide to me—and just like that, my knees have trouble remembering their function.

She smiles. Christ, how could I have forgotten what her smile does to me? Between that and those eyes, I’m surprised I remember how to speak.

Wait—I do remember how to speak, right?

“It’s great seeing you again.” Yes! I can still form a coherent sentence.

“You too.” She steps in for a hug and wraps her arms around my shoulders. Her breasts press against my chest, and I inwardly groan. Luckily, Austin isn’t here to witness this, or else the reality show would have some serious entertainment for its viewers.

My arms loop around her and threaten to never let go.

“I can’t believe how long it’s been since I last saw you,” she says so only I can hear her. Her arms remain around my neck. “I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you, too. I was beginning to think the only way I’d ever see you again would be if I went to LA.”

The feel of her soft body against mine and the smell of her vanilla and rose perfume sparks a memory I’ve kept close all these years.

I had gone to her house to hang out with Austin. He was held up at his grandfather’s ranch, where he was working that summer. I was nineteen; Violet was seventeen.

She was dating a guy at the time. Some loser, if memory serves me correct. They were supposed to go out that night, but the dumbass forgot and stood her up for his buddies.

Violet was sitting on the porch steps, her shoulders slouched forward, her heart in her hand. I sat next to her, and she told me what happened.

“What’s wrong with me?” she whispered once she was finished.

My heart pinched at her words. How could she even believe for a second that something was wrong with her? Everything about her was right. The way she smelled like vanilla and roses. The way the world seemed a thousand times brighter whenever she smiled. The way she made me smile even when I was having a crappy day.

But I couldn’t tell her any of this.

Not if I valued my life and my friendship with Austin.

So I did the second best thing: I hugged her.

It only lasted a few seconds, but the memory of it has clung to me all these years like well-chewed gum on the bottom of your boot.

I reluctantly release Violet, who goes on to hug Jake and Noah.

Camilla’s face lights up. “You must have some juicy stories about TJ growing up,” she says to Violet. “What was he like?”

Amusement flares briefly in Violet’s eyes. But it’s gone too quickly for Camilla to notice. I only recognize it because I’m more than familiar with those juicy stories. Stories my old teacher Miss Truby would be delighted to share—if she was still with us.

Although now that I think about it, Miss H is still around. She was my high school English teacher.

Jake’s warning from earlier comes back for an encore.

Note to self: Make sure Camilla doesn’t track down Miss H. If my old teacher is given the chance to talk about my mischief-making days, I’m sure I’ll be painted as the villain on the TV show. While that would be a great way to avoid advancing to the next round, it won’t help us promote the ranch.

For a moment, Violet seems to consider Camilla’s question. “I’m assuming he hasn’t changed much since back then.” Her gaze sweeps over my body, much like Camilla’s did earlier. Except when her eyes land on my face, there’s a heat in them that wasn’t in Camilla’s.

But then it flickers away faster than a flame in a blizzard, and I can’t be a hundred percent certain I didn’t imagine it. I mean, we’re talking about Violet. I’ve never been anything but a big brother to her.

I brush the heat in her eyes off as nothing more than a hallucination—a hallucination brought on by seeing her again after she’s been away for so long.

Sounds like a reasonable explanation, right?

EXCERPT REVEAL: MISTER TONIGHT by Kendall Ryan

From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a standalone romance about a swoony single dad and the new neighbor he falls for.

Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life.

I was THAT girl.

You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth with her two best friends—the ones who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate.

By reckless, I meant the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, and handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I’d had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I’m not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like French fries, so there’s that.

He took me home and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life, well until it came to a screeching, and rather unwelcome halt.

There’s nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking:

“What are you doing to my daddy?”

Just kill me now…… or so I thought.

Come to find out the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.

Excerpt

Casual flings didn’t tend to handle the whole single-dad thing well. Single moms, on the other hand, fucking loved it. The idea of a man devoted to his kid had them panting for days. But casual, no-strings hookups? To them, me being a dad screamed one of two things: I was either an irresponsible asshole who couldn’t properly wrap it up, or I was a total commitment addict trying to lure them in with my adorable four-year-old child in need of a new mama. Either way, it usually didn’t go over well. But so far, Kate was handling it fine.

Then she crossed the room toward me, and a single thought pervaded my brain.

Fuck, she’s sexy.

All those curves and her throaty laugh, coupled with her confidence? I was a total sucker for a confident woman who knew what she wanted.

“Happy birthday,” I whispered, placing my hands on her waist and drawing her in close.

Just because this would most likely be a one-time thing didn’t mean I wanted to rush through it. Quite the opposite, actually. I wanted to savor and enjoy every minute of this. Starting with the perfect kiss.

“It’s almost midnight,” she murmured, her lips just inches from mine.

Placing one hand on her cheek, I guided her mouth to mine, sealing my lips over hers in a slow, soft kiss.

She responded perfectly, opening her mouth in a silent invitation for my tongue to slide against hers. My hands found those curves wrapped under that black fuck-me dress I’d been admiring, and God, she felt even better under my palms than I could have imagined. Soft and warm and so inviting.

I pressed one more slow kiss to her lips and pulled back to study her reaction. I rarely did this kind of thing. Having her here was surreal . . . and really fucking turning me on, knowing what was probably about to happen.

“Can I get you something to drink?” I asked, slipping my hand around her waist. If she’d changed her mind or wanted to slow things down, I wanted her to know that was fine too.

“I can think of other things I’d rather be doing with my mouth,” she replied, her voice low and sultry as she ran her fingertips over my chest.

God, I love a woman who knows what she wants.

A New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of more than two dozen titles, Kendall Ryan has sold over 1.5 million books and her books have been translated into several languages in countries around the world. She’s a traditionally published author with Simon & Schuster and Harper Collins UK, as well as an independently published author. Since she first began self-publishing in 2012, she’s appeared at #1 on Barnes & Noble and iBooks charts around the world. BLOG TOUR REVIEW AND EXCERPT: The Right Stud by Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise

The-Right-Stud-SBPR-BT

The Right Stud, an all-new steamy standalone from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise is LIVE!

TheRightStud-Goodreads

Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills and USA Today bestselling author Tia Louise are back with an all-new romantic comedy filled with Southern sass and steamy scenes that will have you laughing out loud and fanning yourself. Pour the sweet tea and get ready…

“The best way to get over your sh**ty ex-fiancé is to get under a shiny new stud…”

As soon as Mr. Tall, Blond, and Handsome walks into that bar, I know he’s the hook-up I need to get over stupid Cheater Kyle.

A few stolen kisses in a dark hallway, and I’m pretty sure we’re headed for a home run—until he disappears without a trace.

Whatever. Men are all snakes in the grass, and I don’t need a new one anyway.

I resolve to forget about his perfect lips (and chest of steel) and instead focus on turning my Granny’s old beach house into a profitable B&B.

What I don’t expect is for him to show up the next day in my kitchen!

You see, my sexy mystery man is none other than Jax Roland, the drop-dead gorgeous home improvement star of The Right Stud, and he’s got an offer I can’t refuse.

With a suitcase in one hand and a hammer in the other, he wants to move in and renovate my old house while he films his new show.

But my roommate has secrets, and they threaten to rip our blossoming friendship—and possible love—apart.

When push comes to shove, is Jax really The Right Studor is he just another nail in the coffin of love?

My Review

The Right Stud is a romantic comedy that explores how difficult it is for two people, who are insanely attracted to one another, to not cross the line when it comes to keeping their relationship a professional one, which means that Ashton and Jax’s story also illustrates how difficult things can become when the heart and the body get deeply invested into a connection that seems to have an expiration date, not only due to the hero’s career but also because there are a few pieces of crucial information that Jax holds close to the vest and for someone who has already been lied to by a person who meant everything to her, those details could destroy both of Jax and Ashton’s relationships – ones that have come to mean everything to both of them.

From my perspective, a lot of Jax and Ashton’s issues revolve around internal conflicts more so than external ones…that’s not to say that they don’t have to deal with outside interference, but both characters struggle with themselves and their choices, which then drives them to act and react in ways that lead to bigger issues between them.

In a way, I feel like there were more internal conflicts than external ones. Both characters struggled with themselves and their choices, which then drove them to act and react in certain ones that lent to bigger issues between them. Ashton definitely gets stuck inside her head way too much and she uses the excuse that she needs to ‘think’ about things in order to avoid certain situations. Don’t get me wrong, I get that Ashton doesn’t want to be hurt again and I was her biggest cheerleader when she finally takes back some control when it comes to her anger over her ex’s behavior, town gossips, and a set lies that might just hurt her more than anything her ex had done to her, but she definitely gets in her own way, which then makes things difficult between her and those she likes/loves.

Jax is a bit of a wildcard; his two ‘careers’ seem completely contrary, and it’s that idea along with the fact that readers know the secrets he’s keeping that might frustrate some readers, but because readers are privy to his internal thoughts, it’s easier to accept why he made the decision he did because as his feelings grow for Ashton, drastically complicating things, tough decisions are made and win or lose Jax determines the risks he’s willing to take and those that he’ll never be comfortable with due to his conscience as well as what Ashton comes to mean to him.

I really liked Ashton and her drive to carry on for her Granny. It’s obvious that they shared a special bond and I like that the authors carried that bond forward with Mrs. C. Mrs. C. is not a replacement, but she is someone who was friends with Ashton’s Granny, which means that her Granny’s memory will always be there due to Mrs. C.’s presence.

The secondary characters in The Right Stud definitely add so much to the story line and the burgeoning relationship between the hero and the heroine. Mrs. C. is an absolute riot. She definitely steals the show in every scene that she’s in, and I feel like the authors could put a book together of all of Mrs. C. sage and raunchy words. She and Rufus are the perfect ‘comic relief’ in some fairly heavy scenes., and the fact that she has no filter is what made me love her even more. She’s a straight shooter who gives sage advice even if it’s delivered a bit crassly and she helps Ashton to realize some things about herself, her life, and her dreams, which is exactly what her granny would have done if she was still alive.

Jean Claude Van Ram is an amazing side character and I loved the fact that he’s still there at the end of the story. He’s the main reason that Ashton and Jax finally give into their attraction, so he’s integral to their new relationship and he’s such a pain in the ass for a number of reasons that he adds even more laughs to this romantic comedy.

The title itself also works well for Ashton and Jax’s story; it’s an interesting play-on-words that alludes to Jax’s secondary career as well as how his viewers and probably the entire female population, including Ashton, perceive him as ‘studly,’ ‘Mr. Stud,’ etc. Just ask Mrs. C. and Ashton’s best friend, Lulu; they’ll both tell readers how attractive and fit Jax is!

I had the privilege of BETA reading The Right Stud, and I can’t tell you how many times I laughed out loud due to the antics of some of the most kickass secondary characters of the people and animal variety. Ilsa Madden-Mills and Tia Louise are quite the dynamic writing duo, and I can’t wait to read more from this creative and entertaining pair.

Ashton

I disentangle myself from Jax’s strong arms and land on the floor with a plop. I freeze, hoping I didn’t wake him, and I’m reassured when I hear a soft snore.

Thank God. I don’t think I can face him right now. I completely made a fool of myself. It was the wine. It was the Marvin Gaye. It was…

Hell, it was just him. No man has the right to look that fucking good when he’s washing skunk spray off his body in the ocean!

I snatch up my clothes and throw them on with haphazard care. With one last, regretful look at his physically perfect form on full display, I open the door and slide out, closing it with a soft snick.

I’ve just made it downstairs in the dark, hoping to grab a glass of water, when I run smack into Mrs. C leaving the kitchen.

“Oh!” I stammer, stepping back.

“You got the big D didn’t you?” Her face is covered in some kind of green mask that smells faintly of cucumbers. Rufus, her parrot, studies me with beady eyes from his perch on her shoulder.

“What’s a D?”

“Don’t play coy with me. I may be sixty but I know a satisfied woman when I see one. I had that same look every time Mr. C took me to pound town.” She sighs. “He had the biggest cock you know. I used to tease him that he could have been a porn star…”

I blink. Pound town?

I clear my throat. “You’ve been watching too much HBO, Mrs. C. Jax and I are in a working relationship, and I would never jeopardize that.”

Her eyebrow arches. “Whatever you have to tell yourself. But your dress is on inside out.”

“Fuck!” Rufus calls out and I scowl at both of them.

She hushes him, still looking at me. “And don’t think I didn’t hear all the moaning and grunting. It was loud. I kinda liked it to be honest. It’s been a long time since anyone got a good seeing-to in this old house.”

Pushing the hair away from my face, I exhale, feeling embarrassed. “It’s one in the morning. Shouldn’t you be in bed?”

“I came in here to grind up some cucumbers for my mask. But I can tell you’re not in the mood to talk, so I’ll go to my room and wash it off.” With an offended sniff, she turns to go.

“Wait.”

She pivots back around. “Yes?”

I rub the back of my neck, which is sticky from being pressed against sweaty male-flesh for the past few hours of glorious bliss… which reminds me that I don’t ever recall Kyle giving me two orgasms in one night.

Focus, Ashton. “If we did have sex, and that’s a big if—”

“You did. I heard you cry out…Oh God, I’m coming.” Her face is deadpan.

“Did I make a mistake? I mean, he’s here to work, and he’s a man, which makes him an asshole.” I give her a pleading look, and I know I must be desperate to be seeking dating advice from Mrs. C.

Her lips purse as she gives it a think, beady eyes carefully studying me from beneath the layers of the lime green mask. “Honey, he’s the goat savior and the skunk hero. He deserves a good fuck. Just call it a one-off and let it go.”

RELEASE REVIEW: ON THE EDGE by CD Reiss

ONTHE EDGE RELEASE BANNER.jpg

“This series grips you by the throat and refuses to let go—and you’ll be begging for more the entire time.”

Sierra Simone, USA Today Bestselling Author

On the Edge, the next intense installment in The Edge Series from New York Times bestselling author CD Reiss, is available now!

On-the-edge-two-final.jpg

“In Iraq, I promised you a bed of rose petals.” He grabbed my hand under the table, tightening his grip as if he were falling from a precipice and our connection was the only thing saving him from certain death.

“They were beautiful.”

“You smell like apples. Roses were wrong.” There was nothing soft about his tone, but his quiet words were for me alone. “I want everything to be right for you.”

“Caden, look at me.”

I caught his gaze and held it. He was confident. Arrogant. Sure he had a place in the world. And under that was the man who needed me to be that place.

“If I could…” He smiled and shook his head at a silly thought he wanted to dismiss but couldn’t—a contradiction in keeping with the whole man I married. “If I could write my love in the sky, it wouldn’t be big enough. I’d run out of room. I’d fall out of the air trying to say it all.”

He was saying it all.

Every day.

And he was falling out of the sky to do it.

My Review

Even after finishing the last page of On The Edge, the continuation of Greyson and Caden’s story, the analytical nerd in me is still quite confounded with the dysfunctional and disturbing events that played out on the pages of the second book in The Edge series, and while I’m left feeling quite bereft due to the lack of answers provided, extending my already long list of questions, I can’t help but be in awe of the psychological warfare that CD Reiss has created for her characters and her readers to experience, and let me tell you, we all are lost in the mind-bending chaos that has become a part of Greyson and Caden’s lives.

What’s most interesting to me is the fact that amidst the twisted and toxic environment that the couple seems to live in, the sexual side of Greyson and Caden’s life is hotter and bolder than it’s ever been, allowing Greyson to unleash her sexual desires on an incredibly willing partner to the point that I can’t believe the heat doesn’t resonate from the pages of their story.

Sometimes I feel like a depraved lunatic because I’m obsessed with this couple, with understanding who they are and how they, especially Greyson, deal with the clusterfuck that has become their lives; I find myself meticulously analyzing the words that they say as well as the actions they take in order to understand any granules of truth that can be found, but I have NOTHING! Nothing that, I believe, leads me in the right direction because I seem to be going around in circles, acquiring little insight into how to find the path that Reiss is leading her characters as well as her readers. But because Reiss crafted Greyson and Caden’s story with multiple and complex layers as well as a psychological aspect that constantly manipulates the plot line as well as the mental state of its characters, which makes it almost impossible to understand the causes or the repercussions of Caden’s psyche and what and who Greyson must endure as she tries to stand by the man who needs her to be his safe place.

The title of book three seems to me extremely telling of where Reiss is taking her highly dysfunctional but incredibly intriguing couple…Broken Edge has several implications for Caden and Greyson and while I know I’m probably not prepared for just how fractured these two will be, I’d willingly endure it in order to unearth several of the questions that threaten to drive me batty until I know their answers.

About the Author

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.

If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.
