Devney Perry’s Tin Gypsy series just keeps getting better and better; in fact, Noble Prince just might be my favorite of the books released and a certain officer of the law is a huge reason for my love for Luke and Scarlett’s story.
Police Chief Luke Rosen epitomizes what a book boyfriend should be. He is freaking everything, embodying all the characteristics of my favorite heroes, easily putting him in my top ten of all-time. He’s such an honorable man, one who truly believes in the oath to protect and serve, not only as a police officer but as a man who strives for justice and who makes sure that the bad guys pay for their crimes, but his newest ‘innocent’ is a woman who speaks to him on not just a professional level but a personal one and while he’s always been on the right side of the law, for her, for her safety, for everything they can become, he does what needs to be done regardless of what that means for his position as chief.
Scarlett Marks has been to hell and back, and while she’s found a way out of those circumstances, the new ones she’s in are even more dangerous, considering who’s coming after her and what they plan to do. But there’s a quiet fierceness about her and even though her past stills seems to control much of her present, being under Luke’s protection and finally allowing herself to live in the present and look to the future but that will only be possible if she stays alive and she just might have another reason to do just that.
The suspense element that Devney Perry incorporates throughout her Tin Gypsy series is overarching, woven into each book, allowing things to move forward, adding a litany of complications and creating havoc for all those involved, which definitely keeps readers intrigued and allows them a full view of what’s at stake. Add in the slow burn of Luke and Scarlett’s feelings for each other and a mix of high intensity, emotional, and thoughtful moments and Nobel Prince gives readers one heck of a wild, steamy, suspenseful and dramatic ride.

“If you’re not going to get out of the way, I’ll just go around.” I spun on my shoes, whirling the opposite direction, but when I went to take a step and carry my basket away, I suddenly found its weight missing from my arm. He’d stolen it from me before I’d had the chance to clutch it tight.
Then the world was spinning. The floors, the ceiling, everything flipped topsy-turvy.
I’d fainted.
No, that wasn’t right.
I was being carried. Hauled. That had been Luke’s threat and damn it, I’d underestimated him. The chief had made good on his word.
His shoulder dug into my belly as he walked. I lifted my face, pushing the hair out of my eyes. My basket of food sat exactly where I’d been standing. My chicken and rolls and cookies and chocolate milk. The items grew smaller with every one of Luke’s strides.
“Put me down.”
He kept walking.
“Put me down!” I shouted.
Still, he kept walking.
I lifted a hand and raised it above my head. My hair kept falling in front of my face, obscuring my vision, but that didn’t stop me from using every ounce of strength I had left. I brought my fist down on Luke’s lower back. Except my aim was shit so I didn’t hit his back. No, my fist bounced off his firm, perfect ass.
Luke didn’t so much as break his stride. “I promised Presley I’d keep you safe.”
And without another word, without stopping, he carried me in a fireman’s hold out of the grocery store and into the snow.
I was going back to the daisies, whether I wanted to or not.
