Sean Phillips is a sexy as sin enigma.
Cocky. Promiscuous.
The New York Mavericks star wide receiver.

His quick moves and sure hands extend way past the lines of the football field—and into the bedroom.

Sure of himself and sure of his life, Sean’s convinced he can handle anything. But when beautiful, pint-sized Six Malone delivers a challenge he’s never faced before, his certainty starts to waver.

**

Six Malone is a force to be reckoned with.
Feisty. Hilarious.
The popular YouCam vlogger Pick Six.

The chance to work with the Mavericks on an eight-episode vlog series is the opportunity of a lifetime, and Six knows it.
But after an interesting first encounter turns into a head-to-head battle with cocky football star Sean Phillips, her attention shifts—to keeping herself from falling in love.

Too bad spending time with the team is part of the job, and Sean has a flawless track record…of getting what he wants.

Review

I might just have a new Max Monroe favorite heroine after reading their newest release, Pick Six.

There’s just something about Six Malone that resonated with me throughout the entirety of her and Sean’s book. It might be the fact that she doesn’t back down or mince words, even when it comes to a certain manwhore Maverick who just so happens to be her favorite NFL wide receiver. Or, it could be her independence, her feisty attitude, and the powerful woman she is within her pint-sized frame. Whatever it is, I am beyond smitten with this talented and creative vlogger, and I couldn’t wait to see her put Sean Phillips in his place, giving him a taste of his own medicine and challenging his self-perception when it comes to the ease with which he gets or takes whatever he wants.

Six is definitely a woman I would adore hanging out with because she’s genuine and caring, and even though she cusses like a sailor, which only makes me love her more,  she doesn’t do it to be offensive; she does it because that’s who she is and it’s that playfulness…that outspokenness that not only tantalizes a certain NFL star but also keeps him coming back for more…despite his assertion that he can’t cope with any distractions during the season.

I can’t deny that Sean Phillips absolutely backs up his arrogance, both on and off the field. He most definitely has a magnetic personality – one that proves that he has every right to be the self-assured and larger-than-life athlete he is. But taking Sean down a few pegs wouldn’t hurt either, and I think that Six is the perfect girl for the job because she won’t stroke his ego, even if she wants to desperately stroke Sean’s ‘peen-asurus-rex’ that she just happened to see close up before she even met the egoistical man himself.

Pick Six is one hilarious romantic comedy. The relationships that Max Monroe creates between Sean, Quinn, and the other New York Mavericks illustrate the close bond created when a group of men work together for a common goal. And, the way the players allow Six into their inner circle and treat her as an honorary member of the team, giving her exclusive behind the scenes access and helping Six’s video blogger career gain even more notoriety and popularity is a testament to who she is and just how comfortable she is around these sexy AF football players.

I can’t get enough of Max Monroe’s heroes and heroines. They’re funnier than hell with fantastic personalities and the witty exchanges and sexual innuendoes make me blush and laugh out loud on a regular basis.

I’m completely intrigued by Cam, so I’m excited that his story is up next, and hopefully, readers will get to catch up with previous couples because my girl crush on Six Malone is still holding strong even after I finished the book.

Review

When a Hawks’ brother makes up his mind and claims a woman, there’s no going back, so try as Poppy might to remain hurt and angry about what went down between her and Jeremiah when he unknowingly broke her heart and put her in the position to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, unequivocally altering what they had hoped was a future together, Poppy can’t resist the pull she still feels to the man who has always owned her body and soul, and now that Jeremiah has his Poppy back in his life, he’s not wasting anymore time, claiming her as his regardless if she likes it or not.

Poppy and Jeremiah share a complicated past, and Lila Rose does a good job of illustrating the present and Jeremiah’s quest to get the girl that should have been his from the very beginning and transitioning to the key moments in their past that sent them in opposite directions, leaving them with only half of their heart.

I love that Rose brought two motorcycle clubs together since they’re both a part of the hero and heroine’s lives. The Hawks MC and the Venom MC might not be rivals exactly, but there’s still a certain need to retain power and control over their respective territories and their members, so having two clubs in rather close proximity as well old members patching in to the other club can make for some unfriendly encounters. But, because Poppy’s dad, Charlie, is a member of Venom and Jeremiah once was a Venom brother and now wears a Hawks cut and both clubs are trying to be on the straight and narrow for the most part, there isn’t that much bad blood between them, and it’s that camaraderie, in the end, that helps Poppy to fix her troubles and it’s also the people at Poppy and Jeremiah’s back that want these two to have a future together – the one they should have had before mistakes were made and lives were altered.

Jeremiah is an alpha male to the core, which is exactly the kind of man that Poppy needs. He’s always seen her as his future, and even though he fought it and his mouth ruined their first opportunity, this time around, he’s not backing down and he’s not allowing her to freeze him out, which means that the cat and mouse game she’s been playing with him is not going to work, and I loved watching Jeremiah claim Poppy in every possible way…it wasn’t rushed, but he also refused to give her anymore space than what she finagled on her own, so as their story progressed, readers got to see one hot alpha male get his girl.

I’ll admit that Poppy’s rationalizations frustrated me, at times. I get that it’s easy to let one’s heart and emotions dictate actions, and I can also kind of see why she would want to fix her troubles so they don’t cause anyone else any damage. But she has all of these kickass bikers at her back – ones who would gladly lay down their lives for her, and even though that’s exactly what she’s trying to prevent, she definitely couldn’t handle things on her own, so I’m glad she finally sees the light and little by little lets others help her with situations that were never her fault.

I really enjoyed Fallout, which is not surprising because I love everything that Lila Rose writes, especially her bikers, and I am more than intrigued by the trio who are headed our way in her next biker book!

REVIEW: Bad Boy Brody by Tijan

Amz: https://amzn.to/2jzvGMT

iBooks/Kobo/Nook: https://www.books2read.com/u/bWZ8oM

Blurb

One punch took him from Hollywood’s Golden Boy to Bad Boy Brody.

The media didn’t care he was grieving his brother’s death. They descended on him, but to change his reputation, his manager got him a deal. Act in an indie film, one that already had Oscar buzz, and he’d get the movie roles he needed to secure his future.

He took the deal.

Yet he wasn’t prepared for the real-life people behind the script.
He wasn’t prepared for the murder the movie was based on.
And he really wasn’t prepared for her, the biggest secret of all.

She was wild. She was beautiful. She defied gravity.

But was she the leading role that would tame him?

Brody is a full-length stand-alone novel! There is one bonus chapter from Cole at the end!

Review

This may date me…or, if you show readers what my father subjected me to ever since I was little, regardless, though, every time I read the title of Tijan’s latest release, Bad Boy Brody, I always want to start singing that oldie song “Bad boy Leroy Brown!”

Here’s a little snippet if you’re unfamiliar with the lyrics:

And it’s bad, bad Leroy Brown

The baddest man in the whole damned town

Badder than old King Kong

And meaner than a junkyard dog

This song was released by Jim Croce in 1973, and while it doesn’t really connect with the hero of Tijan’s story, it does put into perspective just how easy it is to pass judgment on individuals based on isolated incidences and/or a series of events that showcase their negative qualities that the public clamps onto and refuses to understand the deeper issues involved.

Brody Asher definitely does a number on his ‘public image,’ but I can’t really blame him because the circumstances surrounding his meltdown are not ones that most people could handle, let alone fight through the anger, the pain, and the chaos within in front of a society who always seems ready and ever willing to knock people down without truly understanding the root of the issue and giving the support instead of the judgment that they deserve.

Morgan Kellerman is definitely an enigma; she lives a full life on her own terms and in her own way, and while readers’ connection with her character might be non-existent or a bit challenging due to Morgan’s nature and who and what she surrounds herself with, no one can deny the healing powers of the experiences that Morgan allows Brody to have and the bonds that are created from not taking anything for granted in this one life that people are given.

My review for Bad Boy Brody would be incomplete if I didn’t discuss an integral group of characters that help both Morgan and Brody to heal… in many ways, Brody and Morgan’s story speaks to their comeback, but I don’t think it’s the one Brody’s fans want for the Hollywood golden boy turn bad boy. The wild mustangs that Morgan sees as family…that she has an unbreakable bond with do so much for her and Brody. There’s a freedom involved in a relationship with animals…they don’t pass judgment…they don’t condemn choices, and it’s in their strength and in their ability to provide unconditional love that allows the humans who hold these wild creatures in their heart to endure…to do more than just exist.

At times, I’ll admit, the story line does get a bit confusing because of the multiple perspectives; it’s not that it overwhelmed me, but I guess I didn’t understand why they were all necessary. The plot does include some difficult content due to the subject matter of the indie film as well as the fact that someone closely tied to the real-life events becomes critical to Brody’s ‘comeback’ role as well as to the healing that takes place in his heart and in his head.

I’m not too sure how to characterize the story line that Tijan crafts for readers in Bad Boy Brody. There’s a uniqueness to it, based on its setting and the impact of a group of secondary characters – ones who are wild and free and teach Brody and Morgan what it means to experience life for what it is, forgetting all the bullshit and finding a place where the only person they need acceptance from is themselves and one another. It’s probably not what some of Tijan’s readers would expect from her, but I think it speaks volumes about the kind of writing she is and her willingness to put herself out there and write the story that spoke to her…that needed to be told, and it’s those kind of writers who I’ll gladly read over and over again.

RELEASE REVIEW: ARROGANT DEVIL by R.S. Grey

R.S. Grey’s newest romantic comedy, ARROGANT DEVIL, is available now!

Find out more about it below and pick up your copy today!

About ARROGANT DEVIL

Everyone in Cedar Creek, Texas, knows Jack McNight is an arrogant devil. Physically, I get it: he’s tan and fit, with coal-black hair that’s clearly been scorched by hellfire. Oh, and his personality? It burns just as hot.

When I show up on the doorstep of Blue Stone Ranch, I’m run-down and rockin’ my last pair of underwear. I’m hoping for a savior, but instead, I find him.

My opinion of Jack is marred by a dismal first impression, but his opinion of me is tainted even before I arrive. He’s heard I’m a spoiled princess there to take advantage of his goodwill. To him, I’m more trouble than I’m worth.

Our button-pushing banter should get under my skin. His arrogance should be a major turn-off. Problem is, devils are known to offer their own form of temptation.

Every one of his steely glares sends a shiver down my spine.

Every steamy encounter leaves me reeling.

Sure, it could be the Texas heat messing with my head, but there’s no way I’ll survive the summer without silencing him with a kiss and wrestling him out of those Wranglers.

Who knows…going to bed with the devil might just be the salvation I’ve been looking for all along.

Review

‘I escape from hell just to run right into the arms of the devil.’

That’s a perfect description for where Meredith Avery finds herself when she finally gathers enough courage to leave her ‘fabulous’ California lifestyle and her doting husband who she is ‘nothing without.’

And even though Jack McKnight, the devil in disguise, may star in her cowboy fantasies, he’s more than proven himself to be a rude, arrogant, and inconsiderate man – one hellbent on making this ‘pampered princess’ realize, sooner rather than later, the error of her ways and return to her posh lifestyle and her heart broken husband because that’s Jack’s perception of Meredith before they even exchange words.

But here’s the thing about misconceptions…regardless of how valid one thinks the information is, if actions and demeanors seem to contradict the acquired secondhand information, only a jack hole would be unsympathetic towards a woman who clearly could use someone building her up instead of continuing the vicious cycle of making her feel inadequate, unintelligent, and worthless.

I have to admit…I did not like Jack, even a little bit, at the beginning of the story, but I don’t think I was supposed to like him…I feel like R.S. Grey meant for her readers to see Jack as the arrogant devil the title references. We were meant to sympathize with Meredith and champion for her to prove Jack wrong, and boy did I adore how well she handled herself with the cocky s.o.b.

Meredith Avery is a phenomenal heroine – one who is stronger than most people give her credit for because despite how defeated she felt and how false her bravado was, at times, she kept her brave face on, her shoulders high, and gave every ounce of attitude back to the rascally devil who turned her on as much as he pissed her off.

Meredith and Jack’s story is an amazing journey of self-discovery for both of them, especially because their initial meeting left them with such a negative first impression, both stereotyping each other due to that initial exchange, making it almost impossible for anything put hatred to define their relationship.

But the longer Meredith stays at Blue Stone Ranch and proves the kind of person she truly is, the easier it is for Jack to see the error of his ways, now he just needs to figure out what exactly he feels for her and how to make up for his asshole behavior.

I can’t not mention a certain feisty elderly secondary character. Edith McKnight is my kind of woman; she’s wiser than anyone else in Cedar Creek and even though she’s the devil’s grandma, she, and just about everyone else but Jack, sees who Meredith truly is and she works to mend Meredith’s heart and show her just exactly what she’s worth, which means that by the time Edith’s done berating her grandson and praising Meredith, it will be clear whose side she’s on and what she plans to do to ensure that satan himself is an idiot for misjudging a beautiful, bright, and worthy woman.

Without a doubt, I have a new favorite R.S. Grey story! Arrogant Devil has the perfect combination of heartwarming and heartbreaking moments as well as a cast of characters who help the hero and heroine realize that this angel and devil might just be perfect for each other.

EXCERPT REVEAL: ONE BABY DADDY by Meghan Quinn

“What are you doing now that your team is out of the running for the Stanley Cup?”

Forget.

I need to forget. I need an escape.

Only one person isn’t falling for my reputation as the NHL’s Golden Boy; she captured my attention the minute she called me out for snooping through my best friend’s house. She didn’t want to hear my reason–she only wanted to playfully give me a hard time.

Adalyn is bold, sassy–and the perfect escape.

She’s everywhere. In town and in my dreams, and suddenly I need to spend every waking moment with her.

And I do, making this summer the best off-season I’ve ever had.

But in the midst of getting lost in Adalyn, what I don’t expect is to get her pregnant.

And what I definitely don’t expect is having to fight for her affection.

Tentative at first, we explore, our lips light, our mouths not quite nipping, but not fusing together either.

We probe, we search, we delve into each other.

Her hands to my face.

My fingers tangling in her wavy brown curls.

Mouths open.

A gasp.

A moan.

A tightened grip.

The lightest touch of tongues.

Scooting closer, she wraps her legs around the back of mine, linking them together.

Tangling, molding, becoming one, the sweet taste of her mouth on mine . . . I’m lost.

Falling and falling fast, our kiss so deep, so intense with each thrust of our tongues, with each mingling of our lips, with every intake of desperate breath.

Tender, the way she moves her lips across mine.

Shaky, the way her hands tentatively explore the crevasses and divots of my broad and built chest.

Fearful . . . of the unknown, of what this means.

But so goddamn electrifying because the craving I’ve harbored for this woman is finally being sated.

Eyes closed, hands lingering, I slowly pull away and rest my forehead on Adalyn’s trying to catch my breath, taking a second to steady the jittery, wobbly feeling in my legs.

“Wow,” I mumble. “That was—”

“Unforgettable,” she finishes for me, her nose rubbing against mine.

Exhaling, I say, “Yeah, it was.”

My hands venture to her sides, memorizing every contour of her body in their path. “Where’s your bedroom?”

Her eyes light up and she hops down from the counter, taking my hand in hers in the process. “This way.” She practically skips down the hallway, light and giddy.

The dark hallway leads to another white, clean, and crisp bedroom. Smooth lines, monotone colors of whites and creams, with one light blue throw pillow on her plush white bed that looks like a cloud floating in the middle of heaven.

Angling in my direction, she reaches for the hem of her dress, but I stop her, gripping her shoulders and standing her upright. Confusion laces her eyes and I take no time in easing that confusion.

“I want to take this slow, Adalyn.” I let out an unsteady breath. “That kiss back there, fuck . . .” I press a hand through my hair. “That rocked my goddamn world.”

Shyly, she peeks up at me through her eyelashes. “It rocked my world too.”

Unable to keep my hands off her for too long, I tip her chin up and press my lips against hers, my mouth smoothing along hers, lush and delicious, just as I expected. She sighs into me, holding on to my waist. I press my tongue against hers again, loving how she gives as much as I take.

Slowing down, my lips brush hers, the fiery passion we have for each other simmering like a pot ready to boil, but never getting hot enough.

I don’t want it to get too hot. Not right now.

I need to know more about her. I want more time with her. I don’t want to jump into this—into a physical relationship—when I know there is so much more I can share with this woman.

There is time for this connection to go beyond the physical, but for now, I need to not get wrapped up in the sensation of her being so close to me and rather seduce her mind instead. I. Want. Her. I want what Calder and Rachel have. I want the depth of trust and friendship I’ve seen in my parents’ marriage . . . How is that possible so soon? God, I want inside her, but I think I need inside her heart more than in her body.

Yes, I’m certifiable.

Completely.

“Can we agree on something?”

“Depends on what it is.” Her fingers trace up and down my spine.

Tracing her pattern, matching it with my fingers, I say, “Can we both acknowledge this unimaginable pull between us? Can we admit to ourselves that the physical is there, that we both would have no problem taking this relationship to the bed?”

“Easily,” she breathes out heavily, her fingers playing with the hem of my shirt.

“Can we also agree to wait?”

Sighing heavily, she rests her head against my chest, knocking it a few times with her forehead. “You’re killing me, Hayden.”

“I know but there have been too many times where the physical has taken the lead in developing a relationship and the communication has lacked. I don’t want that with you.”

“I can understand that.” She bites her bottom lip, her thoughts running a mile a minute in that pretty head of hers. “But what about . . . you know . . . when you have to leave, go back to Philly?”

I nod. “This is for then. So when I do go back, we’ll be okay. Because I can see a future with you, Adalyn, and that’s why I want to build something solid with you, something that can last. I want that chance. With you.”

“So when you return to Philly, you want to stay in contact with me?”

“Fuck yes, I do. And I’m going to have you sitting front and center at as many games as you can get to, especially since I’m trying to make hockey your favorite sport.”

“I don’t know.” She smiles. “That’s going to be one hell of a task to accomplish. Think you can handle it?”

“I know I can.” I press a quick kiss against her lips and then slap her ass, making her squeal. With a wink, I say, “Go get changed for bed, we have some making out to do.”

“Making out?” she asks, adding in a lift of that well-defined eyebrow of hers.

Acting stern and pointing my finger at her, I say, “Just making out. If you start with your wandering hands, I’m going to jet out of here, taking my body warmth with me.”

“That’s just cruel.”

“Then keep it in your pants, Adalyn.” Smiling wickedly, I go to the living room to grab my overnight bag, reprimanding myself with the same warning.

Keep it in your pants, Holmes.

For the love of God, keep it in your pants.
