I saw papers spread across his desk. “I didn’t mean to disturb you while you were working.”

“This room is never off limits to you. You are always welcome here, Mrs. Randolph.”

I flushed with pleasure at his words. He came closer and ran a finger down my cheek.

“In fact, you are particularly welcome right now.” He was so bold that he squeezed my breasts with both hands, and I gasped.

“Don’t be shy, Mrs. Randolph. I need you naked and ready to fuck.” Nathan said these shocking words in a casual, off-hand kind of way.

“Now? Here?” My words were a little breathless in my surprise.

I was almost in a panic. I wanted to make the house feel like home, but I was a little intimidated about stripping bare in the middle of all this majestic grandeur. I remembered the paintings of Nathan’s ancestors I had studied earlier. There were a couple of portraits in this room, too. I felt like the eyes of those long dead were watching me, and passing judgment on my actions.

“Yes. Definitely now. Definitely here.” He raised one arrogant eyebrow at me.

“Nate, I don’t think this is a good idea…” My voice trailed off.

Without warning, he snatched me up and carried me to the big chair behind his desk. He positioned me on my stomach over his lap. I knew what was coming, and I was scared and delighted all at once. He pulled my pants down to my ankles, taking my panties down at the same time. Bare and exposed, I squirmed.

Smack! Smack! SMACK! The blows came hard and in quick succession. If ghosts were watching, they were undoubtedly scandalized.

“Nate, please! I’m sorry!” I protested loudly. It hurt, but I had the urge to giggle, too.

“What did I tell you happened to bad girls? What happens in this library?” Nathan’s voice was stern, and his tone stopped my giggles.

“They get spanked, with their panties off.” I sounded like a little girl.

I squirmed to get free, but I think I liked being his bad girl. From virgin to pervert, in less than one day.

This sports’ anthology is a tomboy’s wet dream in all of the best possible ways;) Each story had me begging for more sports talk and more dirty talk from these larger than life athletes and the women who bring them to their knees.

It’s a cornucopia of sexy all-star alpha males who are just as smooth with the ladies as they are with their claim to fame sport, and while they make a few audibles, get thrown in the penalty box, and even strike out, their drive to win in all areas of their lives is what keep the heroines and us readers cheering for a Win and bolstering these athletes’ attitudes after they lose in order to regain their champion status.

The line-up of authors is just as amazing as the heroes and heroines in each of the novellas, and while most of the writers I’ve had in my life for quite some time, I was introduced to a few new ones who I’m sure I’ll want on my team for a long time to come.

This anthology is hands down one of the best ones I’ve EVER had the privilege of reading, and while some of the stories left me wanting more than could be fit in a novella size story line, what the authors were able to accomplish within the pages of their short tales is gold medal, Stanley Cup, Super Bowl and every other sports’ award worthy!

I ABSOLUTELY ADORED CJ & Graham’s story!

It’s romantic comedy gold because it has the perfect blend of heartwarming/heartbreaking moments, swoonworthy interactions, and a plethora of sexy times that go way beyond the teacher/student educational guise that CJ and Graham tried to establish before the seven sessions of seduction began.

Seven nights. Seven Lessons. Two Consenting Adults. One Deflowering.

That’s the scope of CJ and Graham’s agreement, and on paper, it seems like a simple task – one that will prevent real feelings from becoming a factor in something that’s supposed to be an informative assignment. But it’s pretty clear, early on, that both the teacher and the student are up against more than they bargained for because while the student is definitely modeling the skills that she’s being taught, her high marks are causing more than simple feelings of pride from her instructor, which means that fairly soon, it might just be the student schooling the teacher on the finer points of love and commitment.

The backstory about where CJ and Graham’s connection stems from is something that’s pivotal to the storyline, so the fact that Blakely and Valente examine that bond and offer insights into the wonderful man who brought the hero and heroine together adds another layer to the book and provides readers with both reasons why this weeklong lesson should probably not happen as well as why it might just be the best thing for both CJ and Graham to experience.

I totally understood why CJ was done carrying a card she never had any intention of holding onto this long to begin with and the fact that she seeks out a man who knows his way around a woman’s body, which means he’s more than up for the sexual challenge, is actually quite ingenious of her…as long as she can keep her feelings separate from the orgasmic lessons she’s receiving.

Graham is quite the hero; he’s successful, handsome, big-hearted and one hell of a giver when it comes to the women he beds, so he is absolutely the perfect choice for CJ’s deflowering, but, once again, he needs to be cognizant of not crossing that line that turns his teachable moments into something that neither CJ nor Graham are ready for, let alone willing to acknowledge that they actually might want something more with one another.

I love being introduced to amazing new authors, and to meet one alongside one of my absolute faves, Lauren Blakely, makes the find that much sweeter. This duo definitely knows how to craft a storyline that includes hilarious as well as heartfelt moments and their ability to create two amazing main characters who have depth and dynamic personalities is always a win for a romance lover like me:)

As we settle in, the busboy brings the waters, and I cut to the chase. “So, I hate to crash the Sunday Funday vibe, but I invited you to brunch with an ulterior motive. I need a favor.”

She spreads her napkin on her lap with a raised brow. “What kind of favor?”

“I need you at next Monday’s board meeting. As you know, we lost an important account last month when Beaux Rêves in Paris went with a cheaper option. Obviously, they aren’t our only account, not by a long shot. But given how volatile the industry has been lately, I need to make it crystal clear to the shareholders that selling isn’t the right path. With the number of mergers and acquisitions going on, they’re seeing dollar signs, but quick money isn’t the answer. That’s where you come in.”

“You want them to hear from me because of my shares?” she asks, her brow furrowing. “We don’t have anything close to a majority.”

Though CJ inherited Sean’s share of the business when he passed away, that’s not why I need her at the meeting. CJ has a way of putting people at ease, of winning their trust and confidence. She’s a successful business owner in her own right—her accessories company Love Cycle Creations is growing by leaps and bounds every year. Plus, she was courted early on by an accessories conglomerate and she declined—totally the right call, as her company is now a rising star in her field.

I nod. “Of course, but that’s not the only reason. I need to convince them that now is not the time to explore getting into bed with a huge multinational retailer. And to do that, it’ll help to hear from someone with an insider’s stock holdings and an outsider’s perspective. I want them to hear from you in particular since you went through something so similar with Love Cycle.”

“On a much smaller scale, though. My company is tiny compared to Adored.”

“Size doesn’t matter.” I pause to wiggle an eyebrow for effect. “Well, in this case.”

A faint blush spreads on her cheeks. “You and the innuendo.”

“I do love innuendo. I also love Adored. That’s why I want to keep it the way it is—growing, profitable, and independent. I don’t want it swallowed by some faceless corporate giant.” A smile teases her lips for a moment and then disappears. I can’t read her at all, so I’m on the edge of my seat, waiting for an answer. “Please, CJ,” I add when she stays silent for a long beat. “I need you.”

“You need me,” she echoes, her brow smoothing as she sighs. She takes a drink of water, sets down her glass, and runs the tip of her tongue across her lips.

I watch her tongue move, wondering why I’ve never noticed how amazing her mouth is. She has the bee-stung lips of a cover girl, in a shade of pink so deep it brings to mind flushed, hot, intimate things.

Things I should be thinking of in her presence.

In anyone’s presence.

Resist, Campbell, resist…

Finally, just as I’m gearing up to beg, she looks up, a mysterious smile curving her lips. “I know exactly what you need, Graham.”

Damn, that sounded…naughty.

I reach for my water glass, needing something to cool me down since innocent words from a woman I’ve known forever are sending my thoughts straight into the gutter.

“But before I agree to your request,” she adds, her fingers drumming lightly on the white tablecloth, “I need something from you, too. Something I’ve been thinking long and hard about. Very long. And very hard.” Her eyes meet mine, trouble flickering in her gaze.

Glass halfway to my lips, I freeze.

Christ. Who the hell is this sexy-as-sin woman, and what has she done with CJ?

“Kayla?”

Her eyes came up, a flash of recognition there. “Yes?”

“Are you going to sign the contract or do you have more questions?”

She picked up the pen sitting on top of the contracts that would bind the two of them together for the next six months. They would reevaluate the relationship at that point in time, but for the next six months, she was his. His bodyguard. His submissive.

Bought and properly paid for. He would take care of her and she would give him what he needed.

She signed with a flourish and sat back, a gleam of curiosity in her eyes.

He was curious, too, and there was zero reason to not satisfy their curiosity. Hard and soft limits had been gone over. They would find their communication style as they went along. But first she should understand that he was in control.

“Come sit on my lap.”

He reached out and picked up his cell with his free hand, pushing one number and connecting to the security room. He put them on speaker. She needed to understand what she was up against in order for the game to be fair. “Landon?”

“This is Burke,” the deep voice replied. “Shane’s on patrol. What can I do for you?”

She seemed to relax back against him, as though she was giving up the struggle and choosing to submit. “Yes, Joshua. Yes, I understand, and yes to the sex. Please.”
