About the Book

This is a standalone novella with lots of steam and a guaranteed HEA. If you like bossy British guys with big hearts…one click this one today!

Sexy billionaire Liam Bennett is cocky, dangerously handsome, and more importantly, my new boss. If only my ovaries didn’t flutter when he was near—yeah, that’d be super helpful.

When our long hours lead to a dare—and an X-rated encounter—I never expected it to be the hottest sex of my life.

It’d also be super helpful if Liam didn’t know it and taunt me about it every chance he got. Unable to deny our attraction any longer, our work relationship brings a whole new meaning to the term inbox.

But being with him comes with some baggage—like an ex-wife and three kids kind of baggage. And a lawyer who wants half of his company.

Unsure that I’m cut out for this new level of complicated, my traitorous ovaries beg me to try.

Heaven help us all.

My Review

I’m always up for one of Kendall Ryan’s quick and steamy romances, and this time around, she gives readers an office romance, and from the get go, it’s made more than abundantly clear that regardless of the hero and heroine attempting to keep things on a professional level, given the fact that he’s her boss, it’s never going to happen…the pull is too strong and with the amount of sexual tension swirling around the office space due to their close proximity when they work, it’s not a matter of if but when they’re going to give into their desire and claim one another on a very personal level.

Noelle and Liam’s story is more than a simple office romance. Because of Liam’s complicated life due to his almost ex-wife, his three kids, and his CEO position, there’s more than a fair amount of drama and obstacles to work through before these two can take their once plutonic business relationship to something that can hopefully be personal in all ways that matter.

DIRTY BEGINNINGS by Laurelin Paige

Add to Goodreads:

Dive into Laurelin Paige’s Dirty Universe, with these three full-length books from the popular series, each beginning a duet featuring one of the filthy rich men of Reach Media.

Be seduced by Donovan Kincaid in Dirty Filthy Rich Men, book one of the Dirty Duet:

“Provocative, thrilling, and twisted. You may never be the same.” – #1 New York Times bestselling author Audrey Carlan.: Sabrina is thrust into a seductive, tantalizing world when wealthy Donovan becomes her boss. A USA Todaybestseller with over 4,300 five-star ratings on Goodreads.

My Review

The world and characters that Laurelin Paige constructs in her new Dirty Duet series speak to her ability to create multi-dimensional characters whose contrary characteristics as well as actions indicate that there’s so much more about them than readers know and the thrill of reading about such characters is the fact that the unveiling of their true selves spans the entire text, and even then, readers still feel that they do not truly know or understand who the characters are and why they do the things they do.

Dirty Filthy Rich Men’s setting is one comprised of copious amounts of dirty thoughts, filthy fucking, and rich men who use their money and their power to take what and who they want. Initially, Sabrina Lind doesn’t seem to fit into the world she finds herself in, because even if a decade has passed and she’s learned how to dress for success and prove her intellectual capabilities in the world of business marketing, she’s still that awkward college freshman when it comes to the two men who dominated her thoughts 10 years ago and now seem to do the same thing even if their roles are at opposite ends when it comes to what Sabrina gets/wants from them in the present.

Even after reading book one, Weston King is still a bit of a wildcard. He definitely knows how to play the game when it comes to the opposite sex, but it’s unclear who’s playing whom in this new adventure he’s put himself in, and that’s exactly what adds to the intrigue of the story line because, for some reason that remains uncertain, his role in Sabrina’s life isn’t resolved and still has the propensity to wreak havoc on Sabrina’s head and her heart.

Donovan Kincaid ranks at the top of my list when it comes to anti-heroes who don’t seem to have any redeeming qualities. His asshole tendencies far outweigh any positive attributes he may have suppressed due to the circumstances of his past, and while I get why Sabrina is drawn to him and finds herself trapped in Donovan’s game – one she doesn’t know how to play or even know the rules for – his overall treatment of her and blatant disregard for her feelings at any point in their arrangement left me shaking my head at both of them and struggling to understand Sabrina’s desperate need to torment herself by obsessing over a man who clearly has issues when it comes to his relationships with the opposite sex.

Out of the Weston, Donovan, and Sabrina, she seems to be the most complicated one of the three because even though she portrays herself as a woman who needs safe, nice, and decent, it’s not what she craves, which means that Weston can’t deliver on what Sabrina needs sexually and while Donovan uses the dirty, filthy kink she desires, when he leaves her stripped bare physically and emotionally, the shame and vileness she feels surfaces but it’s still not enough to keep herself away from him, to prevent her from yearning for Donovan’s wickedness and perhaps even his ill treatment of her – it’s a cycle she just can’t seem to break free from…

Donovan and Sabrina’s story sweeps readers up into a whirlwind of emotions as the “Just Sex” couple crave, avoid, and manipulate one another. Donovan is definitely a devilish rogue dressed in business suits with a filthy mouth and kinky taste when it comes to his sexual dalliances. On the surface, Sabrina meshes better with Weston, but it’s made crystal clear that he cannot satisfy the kind of sexual relationship she needs to feel alive and sated and the man who makes her fantasies and even her nightmares come alive is the one man who could possibly be her undoing – that is if she doesn’t destroy him first.

4.5 Poison Apples

Fall in love with Weston King in Dirty Sexy Player, book one of the Dirty Games Duet: Weston King may have been pressured into the arrangement with fiery media-empire heiress Elizabeth Dyson, but he’s ready to bring his A-game.

Only, relationships – a new thing for the player – are a lot harder to be in than he thought.

Can he win at love? Maybe. But he’s going to have to play real dirty.

My Review

Weston King is the ultimate DIRTY. SEXY. PLAYER!

He is sex personified with one hell of a filthy mouth that he more than knows what to do with when it comes to the opposite sex.

He’s a player in every sense of the word, used to getting whoever and whatever he wants.

As soon as I met Weston in Donovan’s Dirty duet, I knew that it was going to take a special kind of woman to make this manwhore a one woman man and even if that woman entered Weston’s life, she had to make him work for EVERYTHING or else he would get bored and she would become just another notch on his bedpost.

Good thing Elizabeth Dyson is more than up for putting this sexy player in his place, which means that their marriage of convenience is going to test both of them in a number of frustrating ways, amping up their love/hate relationship and forcing both Weston and Elizabeth to deal with their conflicted feelings towards one another.

I have to be honest…the sexual tension between these two almost did me in…the build up seemed to never-ending, and while that makes complete sense to me given the dynamics of Weston and Elizabeth’s arrangement and what’s at stake for both of them, it drove me crazy to witness their jealousy…Elizabeth’s insecurities…Weston’s avoidance and every other action that widens the gap and feeds the push and pull between them.

There’s so much chemistry between these two, but neither want to give in to the other because that would put them at a disadvantage, which means not only are they fighting for a company for very different reasons, they’re also fighting their attraction, which is a lot of pressure to deal with when there’s no outlet to do so, which also means that there’s going to be a breaking point for one or both of them but it’s too soon to tell what that will end up meaning in the big picture.

I’m not quite sure where Weston and Elizabeth go from here because, of course, readers are left with a doozy of a cliffhanger, but I know for a fact that Laurelin Paige is not going to make things easy for these two, which is exactly how it should be when two people come together for something other than love and end up playing a game that becomes more real than anything else in their lives.

4.5 Poison Apples

Meet the love scrooge, Dylan Locke, in Sweet Liar, book one of the Dirty Sweet Duet: British ad exec, Dylan Locke, isn’t looking for love. He isn’t looking for fate. He’s definitely not looking for the pretty, young, romantic Audrey Lind.

But when the girl, who’s twenty years younger than him, literally lands in his lap and asks for his expertise, he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t interested.

My Review

For some reason, I haven’t read too many age gap romances, and it’s not because I don’t like them…I’m of the mind that if two people are compatible, can relate to each other regardless of how different their lives are, and share a connection worth pursuing, it shouldn’t matter what their ages are as long as they’re both consenting adults. And let me tell you, even though Dylan is hesitant to pursue Audrey given their 19 year age difference, when he finally stops denying his desire for Audrey, nothing else matters but what they can learn from each other, both in and out of the bedroom

Despite the fact that Sweet Liar is a short text, from their first interaction, it’s obvious that Dylan Locke and Audrey Lind are attracted to each other…despite their age difference…despite their opposite views on love and relationships…despite his jadedness and her innocence…despite the fact that she’s only visiting and he travels back and forth between London and New York.

There’s not a dirtier universe than the one Laurelin Paige creates her stories in, and she adds another great one with Dylan and Audrey’s duet. And with Sweet Fate releasing in March, readers won’t have too long to wait to find out what fate has in store for the conclusion to their story.

SWAT Generation 2.0 Book 8

Release Day – August 11, 2020

By Lani Lynn Vale

Amelia loves her good friend, Avery. So much so that she agrees to do the stupidest thing ever.

A stranger photoshoot.

You know the type. The photographer takes photos of two individuals. Two individuals that, until that day, have never met in their life.

The moment she shows up at the photoshoot, she knows that she made a terrible decision.

Why? Because the total stranger about to be in an intimate photoshoot with her is the hottest thing that’s ever walked the streets of Kilgore, Texas. If not the entire US of A.

Adam wasn’t sure why the hell he agreed to something so stupid.

Call it temporary lapse of sanity.

When the photographer who shot his photo for the Kilgore Police Department’s benefit calendar asked him for a favor, he couldn’t say no. Not without looking like a jerk seeing as it was benefitting the Fallen Officer Foundation that he played a rather large part in.

Whatever it was that made him agree, he quickly realizes that it’s not worth it. Not when he walks into the studio and sees the massive bed with blood-red sheets dominating the middle of the room.

So uncomfortable he is at the sight, he’s about to head straight out the door and not look back when she walks in.

Amelia steals his breath away with just one glance, and all of a sudden, getting this stranger into his arms with his mouth on hers sounds like the best idea ever.

My Review

Emma Scott is the kind of storyteller who consistently creates an emotional reading experience for her readers – one that allows us to truly feel every success and failure of the main characters…every high and low in their lives that constantly change them, transforming them in ways that they might not even truly understand but in ways that readers see nonetheless.

Because Scott’s stories deal with the harsh realities of life, the consequences of actions…the aftermath of loss…the struggles of self identity and purpose, readers can’t help but identity with the plights of her heroes and heroines, or in the case of her newest release Someday, Someday, two heroes who deserve every happiness in life…every ounce of love and affection that comes their way – a lifetime of moments that show them just how worthy they are of everything simply because they’re human beings…they’re men whose hopes and dreams matter regardless of other people’s prejudices and/or hatred.

There’s a process that people go through in order to heal, and it’s not something that happens instantly…it’s a messy, treacherous path – one that moves people forward and backward…makes them doubt progress…makes them question if they have what it takes to endure…to move past the pain and to come out on the other hand more whole than they’ve ever been.

Max found his someday, but it took him a long time to find it in a way that lasted…in a way that allowed him to consistently move forward…in a way that he knew his self-worth and he refused to allow anyone else to dictate how he saw himself. Max Kaufman has a heart of gold, but it’s one that he had to put back together himself after his family turned their backs on him because of his sexual orientation and living on the streets lead him down a dark path that did its very best to destroy him, and for a time, that’s exactly what Max allowed it to do, but there did come a time when he found his way back toward the light, working his program and doing everything in his power to beat his demons, lessening their hold on him.

Max has battle wounds and scars from just how much life has knocked him down…by just how inconsequential he was viewed by his family because he preferred the company of men rather than women. It was almost like because Max had already hit his rock bottom already facing the rejection of his family and the addiction that almost overpowered him, he can help Silas find his way, but Silas has to be willing to accept the aid.

Silas’ past is just as harrowing as Max’s, but because his situation is drastically different, the cruelty he faced by his own father and his inability to truly be himself is just as damaging and perhaps even more so due to the fact that Silas’ life has to be perceived as picture perfect, his mask needs to stay in place and that facade is one that allows for no emotions, no feelings that might be seen as inappropriate for the future of Marsh Pharmaceuticals. And the most heartbreaking aspect of Silas’ life is the fact that he has to choose between his father’s expectations and his own personal desires and needs, which, according to his father, have no place in his life as the man who is to take over his family’s business.

Wounds heal, lessons get learned, and growth happens, but only if the right opportunities are there and taken, instead giving up or being unable to endure. Silas could not have found a better person than Max to help him realize exactly who he is and who he wants to be despite anyone else’s expectations. And while Max and Silas definitely need to play the long game in order to understand what they could mean to each other if they only took a chance, stood their ground, and fought for one another in all ways that truly matter.

Max and Silas’ story is so much more than a romance, which is not surprising given that that is exactly how I feel each time I finish one of Emma Scott’s books. Because there’s a complexity to the characters she creates, readers become more than invested in their lives, feeling their pain…their anguish…their devastation…their self-recriminations, but it also allows us to revel in their successes…in their growth…in their ability to put themselves first for once when that hadn’t been a priority or even a possibility for quite some time.

Once again, Emma Scott owned me with Someday, Someday – my tears, my smiles, my queasy stomach and my frayed nerves as she took me through Max and Silas’ journey, both individually and as, hopefully, someday, a couple.

This is must read M/M.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW AND EXCERPT: OUTMATCHED by Kristen Callihan and Samantha Young

Outmatched - BT banner.jpg

Outmatched by Kristen Callihan and Samantha Young

Release Date: November 19, 2019

Outmatched, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by New York Times bestselling authors Kristen Callihan and Samantha Young.

What happens when a boxer finds chemistry with a geek?

Parker Brown can’t believe she needs to hire a fake boyfriend. When she landed her dream job in renewable energy, she thought she’d be entering a world at the forefront of progressive thinking. But the head boss prefers to promote employees who are “settled.” Thankfully, she’s found the perfect candidate, a fellow intellectual looking for some quick cash. What Parker gets is his protective big brother—Rhys Morgan. The tall, muscled ex-boxer with a foul mouth shows up just as her boss does, and now she’s stuck with the manipulative jerk.

Responsibility weighs heavily on Rhys. Now permanently out of the ring, he’s trying to hold together his late father’s gym and keep his younger brother, Dean, on the straight and narrow. To save Dean from himself, Rhys takes his place, ready to give this society girl a piece of his mind. Instead, he finds an opportunity. Even though they can hardly stand each other, posing as Parker’s boyfriend is a win-win deal. She gets to keep her job, and he’ll charm her star-struck boss into sponsoring his gym.

Problem is, they can barely keep their hands off each other. And what started as an easy deal isn’t so easy anymore. Because what future can a rough ex-boxer, afraid to open his heart, and a polished society geek, who has sworn off real relationships, possibly have?

They say opposites attract. These opposites are about to combust on impact.

My Review

When I heard that Samantha Young and Kristen Callihan were teaming up to write a romance together, I immediately wanted this book in my hands. Both of them, in their own right, are two of my absolute favorite authors, so I couldn’t wait to see what they came up with as a writing duo and what that meant for the Outmatched characters they crafted, the perspectives they provided, and the story line that included a number of romance tropes and a hero and heroine who are both headstrong but wildly different when it comes to the lives they live, where they come from, and just what they want to gain from their mutually beneficial dating ruse.

They dynamics between Rhys Morgan and Parker Brown are combustible from their initial interaction, and even if it was more hate than like and definitely nowhere close to resembling love in any of its forms, what was perfectly clear was the fact that their sparing words and their slow-burning desire for each other are not

Fairchild has to be one of the most sexist and misogynistic billionaires alive, but as horrible as he is when it comes to his tactics and antics of getting what he wants, especially after Rhys begins to play his part, Fairchild is also responsible for forcing Parker’s hand to hire an escort, even if Rhys wasn’t the one Parker thought she was meeting or the one who was supposed to be a part of her ruse.

As much as Rhys and Parker allowed their first impressions and subsequent actions to dictate how they viewed one another, once they stopped ‘pretending’ that what was between them was purely business, they let down their walls and learned that neither is what the other expected them to be, and as the story progresses and they spend more time together just as themselves, not worrying about a career or saving his father’s business, that’s when readers witness something that’s been simmering at the surface for quite some time become something undeniable and worthwhile.

Both Rhys and Parker are likable characters who know how to work hard for what they want, but sometimes, they need a little help along the way, and even if it’s something that puts them outside of their comfort zones, it serves as a way for them to go beyond their first impressions, beyond their playacting and see exactly what they could be together, if they went all in and didn’t allow anyone else’s opinions or their own personal fears to prevent them from becoming more.

I really enjoyed Outmatched, and while I felt like the pacing got a bit slow in some areas of the book, the sexual tension between Rhys and Parker resonates from the pages of their story and has readers impatiently waiting for them to figure out what they truly want and perhaps even need from each other, and it was fun to witness what seemed inevitable from the beginning – them being in each other’s corner for so much more than a business deal.

AngryTink: Hey. This is Parker. Parker Brown.

My phone dinged loudly. I fumbled around my bed, finally finding the damn thing under a pillow. Wiping the sleep off my face, I rolled onto my back and read the text that had pulled me out of a pleasant sleep. I smiled. It was just so … Parker. Settling in, I answered her.

RhysThis: Don’t have to tell me who you are. Your number is programmed on my phone. What do you want?

AngryTink: Well, good morning to you too, Happy Pants.

My smile turned into an evil grin. The girl was always going to punch back and make it count.

RhysThis: That’s Mr. Happy Pants. Though, TBH, my pants aren’t too happy at the moment. Want to help me out with that?

AngryTink: Tempting. Truly. But, no.

RhysThis: RU sure? ‘Cuz Happy Pants Rhys is much more agreeable than Sad That He Had to Self-Satisfy Rhys.

AngryTink: Would you please behave?

RhysThis: I’m not the one who mentioned the emotional state of my pants.

AngryTink: ARGH!

A chuckle rumbled in my chest as my thumbs tapped out a response I knew would piss her off more.

RhysThis: Was that even English? Honestly, Ms. Brown, I thought you were educated.

She took a moment to answer. I could picture her, phone in hand, grinding her teeth.

AngryTink: You’re deliberately trying to annoy me, aren’t you?

RhysThis: You’re quick. I’ll give you that.

AngryTink: Mr. Morgan, I’m about ten seconds away from finding an alternate fake boyfriend. A goat on a rope would be a better candidate at this point.

It was cute she thought that was threatening.

RhysThis: Yeah, probably. But the goat doesn’t have a signed contract. I do, Tinker Bell.

AngryTink: ARGH@!!

RhysThis: You’re kind of cute when you talk pirate.

About the Book

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shayla Black comes a new story in her More Than Words series…

Can I convince her our hot but temporary engagement should last forever?

I’m Stephen Lund, confirmed bachelor…and son of a successful billionaire whose sins I can’t forget—or forgive. Though he insisted I get over his transgressions, I can’t. So I put space between us with a temporary getaway to Maui. My rental’s sexy caretaker, Skye Ingram, is a beautiful distraction. Yeah, it’s a terrible time to start a fling, but I can’t help wanting to give her every bit of pleasure she’s willing to take.

When Skye needs a date to her ex-boyfriend’s wedding, I’m game to play her pretend fiancé. The jerk should see what he passed up…and that I’m holding her now. But our pretend engagement begins to feel real. Our passion certainly is. So are the consequences. When I’m confronted with the reality that our lives are now irrevocably entwined, I have to choose between leaving Skye to return to the life—and wealth—I’ve always known or abandoning everything familiar to start over with the woman who awakened my heart.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

My Review

I’m a huge fan of Shayla Black’s More Than Words series, so any chance I get to dive back into this world is, for sure, one I can’t pass up. More Than Pleasure You is a fitting title for Stephen Lund and Skye Ingram’s story because, at first, that’s exactly what these two coming together is for – pleasure – both the giving and receiving of it. And while it might not be the best time for them to act on their crazy chemistry and mutual attraction, but the body wants what the body wants, so they embark on a vacation fling that turns into something so much more than they ever expected, which is both a blessing and a curse because not only do they live in very different worlds, but both may ultimately be giving up a huge part of their respective worlds, and what that means for this fake engaged couple who are starting to have real feelings for each other is nothing good.

Even though Stephen and Skye’s story was only a novella, there is a large amount of conflict and issues that have to be worked through, and while it’s necessary for the hero and heroine to endure some complications along the way, I feel like these two were up against too much, both individually and then as they pretended to be engaged and started developing real feelings for each other. There is only so much a new couple can take, and with the outside interferences as well as personal points of contention, I felt like the focus was a bit too much on the issues instead of what’s happening between the two of them.

Overall, I enjoyed More Than Pleasure You; I liked the multiple meanings at play with the title for the hero and the heroine and finding out just what they’re willing to do to keep things ‘pleasurable’ between them when things go from simply reveling in the pleasure that they give each other to figuring out if more pleasure comes with continuing their relationship on their terms and no one else’s.

“So you think having a fiancé will finally convince your ex’s mother to back off?”

“I hope. In her head, I’m all alone, and Finn is only marrying Dana because he’s a stubborn dumb ass. But if she sees I’ve moved on, too, I have to think she’ll give up.”

“Tell me one thing that will really convince her you’re no longer interested in Finn.”

Skye pauses. “I haven’t thought about it like that… Probably behaving unlike the way I did with Finn.”

“What do you mean?”

“She was always encouraging us to kiss and hold hands. She would give us romantic weekends away. Once, when I made an offhanded mention that my period was late, she asked me—gleefully—if there was any chance I was pregnant. I didn’t have the heart to tell her no.”

No chance at all? “Not to be too personal, but did you ever have sex with Finn?”

“No. Maybe he might have tried harder if I had been more receptive. But mostly I think we both felt pushed into the relationship.”

“So you and I have to act like we can’t keep our hands off each other?”

“Probably.” She winces. “Yeah. Sorry.”

“It’s not a problem.” At all. I reach for her hand—and frown when Skye jolts. “But if we’re going to convince anyone, especially people who have known you for years, that we’re getting married because we’re desperately in love, you can’t jump when I touch you. We have to leave them thinking that we barely managed to roll out of bed for the wedding and that we’ll probably roll right back in as soon as we’re alone.”

“You’re right. It’s just, um…been a while since anyone kissed me. I don’t count Finn.”

“How long?”

She pauses. “Two years and some change.”

Whoa. Skye deserves to be kissed well and often by someone desperate to make love to that pillowy pink mouth with abandon. Hell, yeah, I’ll volunteer. And if it’s been that long since anyone has kissed her, how long since someone has taken her to bed and pleasured her? I don’t ask—but I’m really fucking curious. “I did not see that coming.”

“Embarrassing, right?”

I shake my head. “No.”

“You’re being nice.” She slides off the stool and onto her feet, shaking slightly. “So you think we should wing the whole PDA thing…or maybe practice a little?”

“Definitely practice.” I can’t help but grin. “A lot.”

Skye bites her soft lip. “You’re probably right.”

I am. And that makes her very nervous.

“No maybe about it.” I flash what I hope is a reassuring smile, not one that divulges the fact that I woke up with an aching cock and her on my mind.

“Okay, how should we—”

I stop her awkward, breathless question by kicking away from my stool. The legs drag across the tile as I stand. That’s the only sound in the room besides the distant crash of surf and her suddenly rapid breathing.

“Come here.” I crook my finger.
