That’s a concept that Nicholas Arthur Frederick Edward Pembrook, Crowned Prince of Wessco, had to learn at an early age; at a time when duty, honor, and responsibilities weren’t concepts he could understand but were expectations nonetheless. And now that her Majesty Queen Lenora has rendered a royal decree that Nicholas has no choice but to follow, he finds himself royally screwed in the most unpleasant of ways.
Olivia Hammond is not of noble blood; she has no wealth or properties…no title or dowry. She’s a commoner through and through and she has the debt and plain lifestyle to prove it. But what she does have is the ability to bring Prince Nicholas to his knees, and even though Olivia has been her own hero for quite some time, a summer affair with “His Royal Hotness” might just change this lovely pauper into a beautiful princess, but that doesn’t mean she’ll have her prince, especially since Nicholas must follow the path his grandmother has laid out for him and who she deems appropriate for the future King of Wessco.

Olivia is an extremely likable character; despite the hardships she’s faced and the responsibilities that seem to weigh her down, she works hard to keep Amelia’s afloat while having very little for herself. Olivia never complains or acts out because she knows what matters most in life, and day in and day out, she relies on only herself to keep everything running despite how difficult it is.
Even though Nicholas and Olivia come from two very different worlds and can’t have anything more than a summer affair, the ease in which their relationship progresses is not something they saw coming nor is it something they want to willingly give up. Despite those feelings, though, they can’t change who they are nor can Nicholas’ royal heritage be forgotten, which means that this royal and this commoner’s future has no way of remaining linked because duty to the crown will always trump love even in the 21st Century.
If Royally Screwed is any indication of what Emma Chase’s new series has in store for readers, we are in for one steamy, witty, and romantic journey that will illustrate being a royal is not all glitz and glamour, especially if the Pembrook men have anything to say about it.

She’s even lovelier than I remembered, than I dreamed. Delicate midnight tendrils frame a face that belongs in a museum—with stunning dark sapphire eyes that should be commemorated in vibrant oils and soft watercolors. If Helen launched a thousand ships, this girl could raise a thousand hard-ons.
She’s prettily made, the top of her head coming only to my chin, but fantastically curvy. Great full tits that strain the buttons of a wrinkled white blouse, shapely hips in a black skirt tapering to a tiny waist I could wrap my hands around and toned legs encased in sheer black tights finish off the whole package very nicely.
An unfamiliar anxiousness fizzes like soda in my gut.
“The door was open,” I explain.
“It’s broken.”
