He learned the hard way that choosing only one leads to heartache.

Newly single attorney Charlotte Holloway finds just what she needs in Bennett – a sweet, sexy man to ease the burn of her recent breakup. One night is all she wants from the left winger who seems to have all the right moves. Soon circumstance draws her back to Bennett, and the sparks between them become a fiery blaze. But with the stakes high, will they risk it all and put their hearts on the line?

Man kissing woman while she is on top of him

Chapter One

Charlotte

It was raining. Not that my closet of an office had any windows through which I could see that. No, the drip-drip-drip of raindrops falling from the ceiling into the bucket I kept on my desk for days like this was all the indication I needed.
I pressed a button on my phone to ask Sara, the secretary in the state’s attorney’s office where I worked, to page Maintenance and put in my monthly request to get the leak fixed. I’d been asking every month for the thirteen months I’d worked here. So far the only response I’d gotten was the bucket.
I got her voicemail and glanced at the clock. 6:45? She had left for the day.
Where had the afternoon gone? I’d been holed up doing research for a case and hadn’t even realized how late it was.
Just another reason I was looking forward to getting a new office—a window. A window and no bucket on my desk would make me feel like I’d arrived.
The work of an assistant state’s attorney wasn’t glamorous by any means. But I was happy here and grateful to have landed the job fresh out of law school. And once I got promoted to the vacant first assistant position, I’d be doing the work I’d always dreamed of.
Prosecuting crimes against children was why I’d gone to law school. When the former juvenile prosecutor had left for another job, I’d put in for her spot immediately. My boss Wren had told me it had to be left open for two weeks so internal applications could be accepted, but that my chances were very good.
My chances were great. The only other assistant state’s attorneys were Carlton, who would be retiring soon, and Riley, who was my boyfriend. He had no interest in the job, so it was mine for the taking.
Two weeks had passed since the job opened up, and I was planning to stay late tonight in hopes that Wren would come give me the good news. She worked late every night.
A light knock sounded at my door, and my heart thudded with hopeful anticipation.
“Charlotte?” It was Riley, his wavy, beach-blond hair falling over his forehead. He brushed it back and grinned at me.
“Hi.” I smiled back. “I haven’t seen you all day.”
“Yeah, the traffic docket was a bitch this afternoon. You feel like getting some dinner?”
I sighed and shook my head. “I need to get this research done for a case tomorrow. Rain check?”
“Sure. Or…I could work some more and wait? I was kind of hoping to talk to you about something.”
“What’s up? We can talk now.”
Riley drew his brows together, looking serious.
“Is something wrong?” I asked, my concern mounting.
“Not…wrong, per se.” He took a step inside and closed the door behind him. “I just wanted to talk to you outside of the office.”
“Well, now I’m worried. Sit down and spill your guts.”
I pushed the bowl of peanut M&M’s I kept on my desk over his way as he sat down in the chair on the other side of my desk. The chair groaned despite Riley’s lean frame. I’d had two chairs in front of the desk before, but one had broken while a sheriff’s deputy was sitting on it last month. He’d asked me if a splinter in the ass was enough to get him out of testifying in traffic court that day and I’d told him no way.
Riley and I had spent many late evenings in this office, eating M&M’s and discussing cases. We didn’t necessarily have a passionate love affair, but something based on friendship and mutual respect. And the sex wasn’t bad, either.
“You know I love you, Charlotte,” he said.
“And I love you. So what’s up?”
He sighed and looked down, his elbows resting on his knees. “I wanted to be the one to tell you that…uh, Wren offered me the first assistant job and I accepted.”
The drip-drip-drip of rain into the bucket was the only sound in the room for a few seconds.
“I’m sorry, what?” I finally said. “How is that even possible? You didn’t apply.”
“I actually did. A couple days ago.”
“And you didn’t tell me?”
He grimaced and met my eyes across my desk. “I knew you’d be upset.”
My cheeks warmed and my heart thundered in my chest. “You think that’s a good enough reason to hide it from me?”
“Keep it down, Charlotte.”
I stood up, my palms on my desk. “I will not keep it down! How could you do this to me? After all those times you told me I was meant for that job and I’d be amazing at it?”
“You would have been.” He looked down again. “But, Charlotte, I have aspirations, you know? If Wren doesn’t run for state’s attorney next time around, I might. And I need this experience.”
I pulled the bowl of M&M’s back over to my side of the desk. He didn’t deserve them anymore.
“You went behind my back and applied for the job you knew I wanted.” I gave him an icy glare.
He gave a half shrug. “Look, Wren chose the best candidate, and it was me. If I run for her job and win, you know I’ll give you the juvenile spot then. If you play your cards right.”
I possessed a bad temper at times, and it took over as Riley gave me a smug half smile.
“You asshole. We are done.”
I grabbed the rim of the half-full rain bucket, hauled it off the desk, and threw the collected water at him. Then I put it back in place, because I didn’t want a wet desk in the morning.
Wet ex-boyfriend? Hell yes. And he was dripping, his mouth open in shock, when I grabbed my purse and headed for the door.
“Charlotte,” he said, standing up. “I can’t believe you—”
I cut him off. “Yeah, well, I can’t believe you, either. Get out, Riley.”
“You’re crazy,” he muttered as he left my office.
I got out of there as fast I could because I was in no state to run into my boss right now. Beneath my shock was deep disappointment. Over Riley and over the job.
When I reached my car and started it, I headed for the place I always went when I was too angry to even think. The shooting range. And there was no doubt who I’d be picturing when I aimed at the faceless target tonight.

SMUT is a enemies to lovers romantic comedy releasing on May 9th.

What happens when the kink between the pages leads to heat between the sheets?

All Blake Crawford wants is to pass his creative writing course, get his university degree and take over his dad’s ailing family business. What Amanda Newland wants is to graduate at the top of her class, as well as finally finish her novel and prove to her family that writing is a respectful career.

What Blake and Amanda don’t want is to be paired up with each other for their final project but that’s exactly what they both get when they’re forced to collaborate on a writing piece. Since Amanda thinks Blake is a pushy asshole (with a panty-melting smirk and British accent) and Blake thinks Amanda has a stick up her ass (though it’s brilliant ass), they fight tooth and nail until they discover they write well together. They also might find each other really attractive, but that’s neither here nor there.

When their writing project turns out to be a success, the two of them decide to start up a secret partnership together using a pen name, infiltrating the self-publishing market in the lucrative genre of erotica. Naturally, with so much heat and passion between the pages, it’s not long before their dirty words become a dirty reality. Sure, they still fight a lot but at least there’s make-up sex now.

But even as they start to fall hard for each other, will their burgeoning relationship survive if their scandalous secret is exposed or are happily-ever-afters just a work of fiction?

Blurb

I awaken in a laboratory.

I don’t know who I am.

I’m inexplicably drawn to the doctor who cares for me.  She tells me I’ve been altered, that I’m stronger and faster, that I’ll be a key component in a war between corporations.  She says I volunteered for this.  She says I volunteered to be transformed, but I have no way of knowing if what she says is true.

Something isn’t right.  My memories have been taken, wiped clean, but dreams begin to slip into my conscious mind.  I can’t let anyone know when that happens, or they’ll remove my memories again.  Somewhere inside of me, I know I need to remember something important.

I’m fighting a war I don’t understand, and the one woman I rely on can’t be trusted.

Review

Specimen was my first Shay Savage read, and I absolutely loved it. The writing flows seamlessly and the development of the characters is easily shown by their words and actions. One thing I’ve learned from looking at Shay’s list of books is that she creates very unique storylines and makes the oddities work well together despite the fact that they shouldn’t and that definitely speaks to the kind of writer that Shay is.

Specimen is set in a dystopian society where lines have clearly been drawn due to conflicting beliefs as to how society should proceed forward and what things should be deemed most important. It’s a futuristic world that illustrates how advancements in technology can lead to dehumanizing people and turning them into weapons for a cause they don’t know anything about nor would they choose to be manipulated like they are at the hands of those in authority who believe they know best.

The relationship that develops between doctor and specimen, Riley and Sten aka Galen is complex and dangerous, and because it was manipulated from the start, it’s hard to ascertain the reality of what’s been done to Sten and the reasons behind those adjustments, and if the feelings he has for Riley really do exist or if it’s simply a result of these modifications. The fact that the story is told from Galen’s point of view allows readers to deal with his progressions and regressions right alongside him and try to sift through the data and come to the conclusion as to what is true and what are lies.

There are many missteps along the way that Sten/Galen has to work through – some more painful than others, and once he wraps his mind around what seems to be the reality of his situation versus what he’s been told to believe, the stakes get that much higher and the risks prove to leave him with very few options.

Riley plays a significant role in Sten’s actions throughout the entire story, but she also has her own concerns to deal with and because readers are only privy to them through Sten’s perspective, we don’t know if he can trust her or if he’s simply her “lab rat” and a means to advance her position/career as a doctor who can create super soldiers.

Specimen is an incredible look at a futuristic world filled with corruption and the need for power and control by any means necessary. What I find most intriguing about the plot is that it’s not necessarily the government leading the charge for change and putting people’s lives at risk; rather, it’s all due to the economy and which group – Carson Alliance or the Mills Corporation – can control the food supply and make the most profit. Advanced technology and money are two powerful tools for people and their power can be easily abused, which is exactly what happens in Specimen.

Shay Savage has definitely made herself known on my TBR! She’s a great storyteller who weaves steam, suspense, and intrigue together in a way that keeps readers’ interest until the very end and even if they don’t agree with the outcome of the storyline, they cannot deny that the journey there was exceptionally written.

Excerpt

“That’s why I can’t stop thinking about fucking you.”

Her eyes widen, and she quickly looks away from me.  She stands and starts to pull her hand away, but I push myself off the bed and grasp her arm before she can go anywhere.  Our bodies touch, and I reach one arm around her back and pull her tightly against me.

I cup her face with my hand and run my thumb across her lips.  Her scent is all over me now, and I want to experience her with my tongue.  Would her taste resemble her scent or complement it?  I have to know.

Pulling her closer, I press my open mouth to hers.  Her body stills, and she grips my shoulder with one hand as the other presses against my chest.  Her mouth is warm.  I can feel her breath as my tongue slides inside.  Her taste is indefinable, smooth like sweet liquor I can’t recall ever tasting.

There is a shift inside of her.  It can’t be seen or heard, but I can smell it and taste it.  The smell of her skin becomes darker, thicker.  I feel her flex her fingers on my shoulder as she tilts her head to allow me to deepen the kiss.

How would her scent change if I were inside of her?  What sounds would she make when she comes?  Would she muffle her cries or be loud enough for all those watching us to hear?  How would it feel to come inside of her?  What sounds would I make?

I don’t even know if I’m a virgin.

Reaching behind her, I shove whatever is on the side table to the floor, lift Riley up, and set her down on the edge.  I grip her hips and pull her against my stomach.  The table is too high.  I can’t fuck her from this angle.  I break the kiss, lift her effortlessly, turn, and drop her ass to the edge of the bed.

“Sten, stop!”

I freeze my actions.  My entire body tightens, and my dick throbs in my shorts.

It’s too much.  I need this.  I need her.

I don’t move.

“You have to let go of me.”

I squeeze my eyes shut and withdraw my hands only enough to release her.  I keep them close enough to still feel the heat from her body and detect the shift of air when she moves.  She uses her hands to push herself backward on the bed, away from me.

The muscles in my legs shake.  I’m so wound up, and I can’t let it go.  The tension becomes painful and the need for release so prevalent, I can no longer think.  I grip the edge of the bed until my knuckles turn white.  As soon as she pulls her legs back and pushes herself off the edge of the bed, on the side opposite me, I grab the bed and throw it, smashing it into the mirror.

I glare at my reflection, and the strange dark eyes glare back at me.  The unfamiliar lips are curled up in a snarl, and the unkempt beard creates a frightening image.  Everything about the man looking back at me is alien.

Didn’t I just shave last night?

Synopsis

Wanted: Beautiful woman to be the mistress of my manor. Must be single. No sex required, dynamic conversation imperative. Salary $100,000 for a one-month contract.

A viral post. Thousands of women applied—including me. I told myself I was crazy, but the money could pay for my father’s medical treatments and save his life.

A month later, I received the call.

I’d been chosen.

A man with a mask greeted me, and though he filled my days with a library full of books, and dressed me in the finest clothes, he never shed his cover nor touched me intimately, despite my growing hunger for him.

He was equal parts Iron Man, Phantom of the Opera, and Beauty’s Beast. But he wasn’t a superhero, the tragic villain of a novel turned musical, or the cursed creature of a fairy tale.

This former Marine was trapped in his own nightmare—demons from the war he had fought in haunted his thoughts, scars from the bomb he jumped on marked his skin.

True love could free him from his self-imposed prison, but he’d have to let me in. Opening the door to his cabin was the easy part, but the real test would be allowing me into his heart.

Otherwise, he would always remain a beast.

Chapter One—Isa

I stared at my phone, rereading a post from Reddit that had gone viral.

Wanted: Beautiful woman to be the mistress of my manor. Must be single. No sex required, dynamic conversation imperative. Salary $100,000 for a one-month contract.

The opportunity of a lifetime. Thousands of women had applied, the world was anxious to learn the identity of the man the press had hailed as “the dark bachelor.”

Though I’d never purchased a lottery ticket, nor did I believe in get-rich-quick schemes, I hastily filled out the application, never thinking for a second that I had a chance. The process had been easy enough—agree to submit to a background check if chosen, send a picture, and write an essay (100 words or less) answering the question, “What I’d do with the $100,000.”

Well, that was easy. My words poured onto the page.

I would pay off my father’s medical bills, and provide him with the best care. He has brain cancer, and insurance hasn’t covered all of his treatments. I dropped out of college and work three jobs to support him. I would like to spend more quality time with him before he passes. My father is proud, independent man, a Marine who served Vietnam, and he hates to be a burden. He has dedicated his life to me, and I’m happy to take care of him during his final years. I would be forever grateful to you for this opportunity.

I attached a picture of me wearing a loose-fitting grey T-shirt, jean shorts, and flip-flops. For makeup, I had only used a tinted moisturizer, purple eyeliner to accentuate my green eyes, mascara, and nude lipstick. My black hair hung like a shower curtain around my face. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t sending a provocative image to this man. Though I strongly doubted whoever he was only wanted a platonic companion, I was positive hundreds of girls would send in bikini shots, or nude selfies, so if that was what that guy was looking for, then he’d have plenty of options. I figured the chances of me being chosen were so slim, it was worth the risk to apply.

What kind of man posted an ad like this? He could’ve been a serial killer, or some psycho. One newspaper swore he was a famous tech billionaire, another speculated that he was a deformed recluse.

I didn’t put much thought into it—until I received the call from a blocked number.

“Hello?” I answered my cell late one night.

“May I speak to Isa?” A man with a deep, sexy voice asked.

I had a heavy feeling in the pit of my stomach. “This is Isa.”

“This is the man who posted the ad.”

Dios mío! Was this a joke? “Uhm hi. What’s your name?”

He laughed, a gruff, sexy laugh. He sounded younger than I’d thought he’d be. I had assumed he was an older gentleman when I read the ad. “You can call me Bruce.”

The way he said Bruce made me certain it wasn’t his name. “Okay, Bruce. Am I a finalist or something? Why are you calling me?”

“I wanted to hear your voice.” He paused, and exhaled. “Is your dad going to be okay if I pick you? Does he have someone else to step in to take care of him?”

I didn’t even know this guy and he seemed to care more about what happened to my father than my own friends did. “Honestly, no. I didn’t think I’d be chosen so I never really considered what I’d do.” I felt so stupid. I should’ve never applied. I would have to quit my jobs, find somewhere for my father to go, and someone to attend to him. “I’m sorry to waste your time. I applied on a whim. I heard that thousands of girls applied. Why me? I mean, I could really use the money, but—” I swallowed a sob. Was he really about to pick me, was I about to throw away this amazing opportunity so that once in my life I wouldn’t have to struggle?

“Hey, look. I liked your essay—and your picture. As for why I chose you, let’s just say you stood out to me. If you really want to do this, I can arrange to have someone take care of your father.”

Was he for real? “Are you serious? Who are you? Why are you doing this? You sound really nice, I’m sure you can find someone to hang out with you for free.”

“I have my reasons. So is that a yes?”

My hands shook. Was this really happening to me? “I don’t know. I mean, I’m not going to sleep with you, if that’s what you’re after. I don’t know anything about you; you could be an axe murder. I feel naïve even talking about this.”

“I’m not expecting sex in return. And though I’m not going to tell you my real name, the Washoe County Sheriff knows who I am and you are welcome to verify with them that I have no criminal record. If you agree to meet me, I promise to show you a good time and keep you safe. I’d like to get to know you. So what do you say?”

I couldn’t believe he was serious. And why wouldn’t he tell me his real name? Was he famous? Notorious? “Can I think about it?”

“No. I need a decision. What’s it going be?”

My heart raced. I was now completely intrigued; yet simultaneously scared to death. He promised to take care of my father, and I desperately needed this money. My breath hitched. “I’m in.”

PROLOGUE

I was mad at the world, at the whiskey for not being strong enough, at the drugs for not lasting long enough, at the fucking whores I banged for not getting me off when it was my fault my dick was fucking useless after a bucket of fucking blow. I went so far as to be pissed at random people on the street for laughing or smiling when I felt like I’d never be able to smile or laugh again.

How dare they?

How fucking dare they be move on with their lives like my friend hadn’t just died.

I was on the verge of losing what little sanity I had left when I rode out of Logan’s Beach and set off to find a place, or places, where I could numb myself against the feelings that followed me from town to town, cheap motel to cheap motel, girl to girl, high to fucking high.

Then, this pink haired girl from the past came barreling into my life and it was like for the first time, I’d found a purpose. A real genuine purpose and not just some shit Chop spewed out as orders that I and every other member of the Beach Bastards took as bible, but a true reason to live again.

To WANT to live again.

Someone to live for.

Ti was my chance at some sort of real happiness when Lord fucking knows I had no idea what that really was before her. The only glimpses of real genuine happiness I’d ever had came courtesy of Preppy, King, and of course Grace. Like when King tattooed us for the first time and we loved them, even though they were crooked and downright fucking awful. Like when Grace made me my very first birthday cake. Like the time King Prep and I sat at the top of the water tower and thought the world was ours to take.

Because at that time, it was.

Then there was Ti and my new happiness became the first time I saw her smile. The first time I kissed her. The first time I tasted her pussy by the fire. The first time she let me inside of her, shamelessly pushing through her virginity in a frantic need to make her mine.

Because that’s what she was.

That’s what she would always be.

And I will kill every motherfucker who dares to try and take her from me.

Mine.

SOULLESS TEASER 1

Review

Soulless is everything I wanted Bear and Thia’s concluding story to be…T.M. Frazier takes readers on one hell of a ride as truths are revealed…betrayals cut deep…and the idea of family and brotherhood are redefined, biker style. No one involved with the Beach Bastards will ever be the same because when Bear’s done handing out retribution, the only people not taken down will be the ones who are willing to start a new chapter in a club that stands for everything the Bastards used to stand for before Chop destroyed it from the inside.

A badass motherfucker doesn’t even begin to fully describe all that Bear is in Soulless; he’s hellbent on keeping Thia safe and ensuring when all hell breaks loose that he’s the last man standing, and even though he has his work cut out for him because a whole club’s against him, Bear won’t stop until it’s dismantled and the last cut that says Beach Bastards is destroyed.

Thia continues to prove herself as the woman who can handle all that Bear is and all that comes with being his woman. She’s steadfast on taking care of herself and doing all that she can to protect her man as well, so much so that she takes things into her own hands, even when she knows that Bear would be vehemently against her decisions. But she knows that regardless of her missteps, they will never give up on each other because even though their relationship started with a broken promise all those years ago, it turned into a lifetime of possibilities.

T.M. Frazier is one hell of a writer. She allows her characters to prove themselves through their actions not just their words, and she creates amazing anti-heroes who wind up being the very reason life continues for those closest to them. King continues to have Bear’s back in book two and further solidifies the bond they share with each other as well as Preppy, and even though he’s no longer physically with them, he sure as shit is still a presence in their lives, and I love that Frazier gives readers a bit more insight into their long standing friendship and shows the depth of their bond – one that continues on regardless of time and distance.

“Love isn’t wanting a hero – it’s about wanting to be one for the other person.”

This is a theme that is present in all of T.M. Frazier’s books; it’s what makes King and Bear take risks when the likelihood of survival is small; it’s what leads Ray and Thia to fight for themselves and the men they love when their lives are thrown off balance and plunged into an abyss of darkness, despair, and death. They are all one another’s heroes and even though Bear may feel undeserving and soulless due to the life that he lived before Thia, there’s no doubt in my mind that Bear is the only man that can handle Thia, and she’s the only one who can turn a lawless man into a man who fights for family, freedom, and brotherhood, understanding that things are better together than apart.

When they reached the ballroom he locked the door behind him. Jack walked over to one of the decorative side tables and produced a box wrapped with red paper.

“Merry Christmas,” he said, handing it to her.

“Why didn’t you give this to me earlier?”

“I needed us to be in private when I gave it to you. Open it.”

It had to be jewelry. “I told you not to get me anything outlandish.”

“I don’t have to listen to you. Even if we are married.”

Caroline ripped the paper away. She opened the box and was greeted with an exquisite emerald necklace. Fringe design, with each individual green stone framed by tiny sparkling diamonds. The necklace was dripping with jewels from end to end. It looked like a prop from an eighties soap opera except it was stunningly, gorgeously real. She wouldn’t even want to speculate about the cost. “Jack-”

“Do you like it?” he asked.

She was convinced he only gave her presents just to gauge her reaction. To see how long she’d gawk at them before starting to gush. Caroline wasn’t refined when it came to her spontaneous responses to him. Did she like the necklace? A rather silly question since it was one of the most amazing things she’d ever seen.

“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.

He took the box from her. “I didn’t recall seeing you with anything other than sapphires or diamonds. We’re going to have to do something about that.”

She could only imagine the media attention they’d get if she paraded around wearing a necklace that cost more than what the average household made in a year, several times over. Sometimes her husband forgot that he was running for governor, not auditioning for the cast of Falcon Crest. “It’s too much, Jack. It’s so…elaborate. I can’t wear that in public.”

He smiled. “Then don’t. Wear it just for me.”

“Just around the house? Like, when I’m watching baseball and stuff?”

He laughed. “‘And stuff’?”

Her language was less polished than usual. “I’ve had a ton to drink today. I can’t always be articulate.”

Jack pulled her to him, leaning toward her ear. “How about you wear the necklace and nothing else, and grant your husband a dance?”

Now she saw where he was going. “A nice Christmas waltz?” Caroline suggested. “Fully clothed, of course. We must always be proper.”

He tugged at her sweater. “Try again.”

His romantic and seductive gestures were sweet, but impractical. “It’s cold in here.”

“I’ll turn the heat up.”

“What about you?”

“We don’t need to worry about me.”

Caroline sighed. “I meant your clothes.”

He unbuttoned her pants. “They’re staying on.”

That seemed unfair. “I’m not sure I like this power differential.”

Jack ran a finger under the waistband of her panties. “I think you do,” he whispered.

She shivered when he pulled her pants and underwear down. “Will there be music? Or are you going to parade my naked self around the ballroom in silence?”

“I picked a special song for the two of us.” He grinned. “And you won’t be naked. You’ll be wearing the necklace.”

She ran her hands down the front of his shirt, imagining how it would feel for her bare chest to rub against it while they danced. “You will undress at some point, right?”

He kissed her again. “Upstairs. Let me do this,” he said softly, stripping off the rest of her clothes, even her bra and panties. He laughed when he reached her socks. “Are those dinosaurs?”

Caroline liked wearing fun socks. She didn’t care if they were juvenile. She’d get away with it for as long as she could. “They’re wearing little Santa hats.”

Though he’d started to yank them down, he hastily pulled them back up to below her knees. “These can stay on. But only because they make you look so damn adorable.”

She tried not to think of what she’d look like wearing nothing but whimsical dinosaur knee socks and an emerald necklace, but the expression on his face indicated that Jack didn’t particularly care. He kissed her deeply before retrieving the necklace. He took his time placing it around her neck, then stepped back to look at her. It took all her effort not to blush. She hadn’t anticipated the night ending this way.

Jack tipped her chin up. “You look fucking marvelous.”

Her face had to be as red as a cherry. “Even with the socks?”
He brushed a stray hair out of her face. “There are few things sexier than a woman wearing an emerald necklace and dinosaur socks…and nothing else.”

RELEASE WEEK BLITZ: REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY: Bare Your Soul by Rochelle Paige

Release Week Blitz

Title: Bare Your Soul

Author: Rochelle Paige

Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance

Release Date: February 22, 2016

Blurb

Angelica Rose’s mom always told her that desperate times called for desperate measures. Walking into a strip club and asking for an audition certainly qualifies as desperate, but when her mom’s battle with cancer ends months before Angelica is due to start college, she doesn’t feel like she has much choice.

The moment Morgan Cadwell sees her on his stage, he knows she’s the one woman who could make him break all the rules. There’s no way he’s going to let Angelica dance for other men, so he hires her as his live-in personal assistant instead.

Morgan’s offer lets Angelica keep her clothes on…but little does she know that, in the end, he’ll make her bare her soul instead.

Warning: This book is about an alpha caveman and a sweet but fierce virgin heroine who fall ridiculously fast in insta-love. If you’re okay with that, then enjoy!

Review

Angelica and Morgan’s story is a quick and steamy read with an insta-love couple and a bossy alpha male who does everything he can to claim his angel. Bare Your Soul was just the read I was looking for after an angsty read because it allowed me to escape into a world where a girl met the man of her dreams in a strip club and then he proceeded to rock her world in every way imaginable…who wouldn’t want a fantasy like that to happen to them?

Morgan Cadwell may be a domineering and highly sexual man, but he also knows how to handle someone with care, especially 19 year old Angelica who doesn’t have any sexual experience and only tries to get a job at his strip club because she has no other way to pay for college without a lucrative job. He claims her instantly and proves to her that she’s the only one he wants by his words and his actions.

Even though Morgan takes things slowly sexually with Angelica every other aspect of making her his is instantaneous and despite what he professes to those around him in order to keep up pretenses, she captures his mind, his body, and his heart from the very start and it was a crazy, insanely hot ride witnessing Morgan do everything in his power to protect Angelica and show her exactly the type of man he is.

Rochelle Paige continues to write highly erotic reads that may be short, but what she packs into those stories delivers everything a reader needs to feel the passion and lust between the main characters and even feel it for themselves;)

Excerpt

“Hey, I thought there was no touching in lap dances?” I tried to protest.

“There will always be touching between you and me,” he answered.

I knew it shouldn’t get to me. I didn’t know this guy and I was acting a part to try to get a job. But holy hell his words and his touch were turning me on and confusing me. If I was honest with myself, I’d admit that there was crazy chemistry between us and maybe—just maybe—I was using this situation to my advantage to see what happened.

“There is no you and me,” I retorted as I tilted my body away from him.

“There will be,” he insisted.

Some of my uncertainty must have shown on my face because his hands gentled and he ran them from my hips to my back and stroked softly. He lightly tugged on the material but it didn’t fall any further. “Show me more.”

I could feel his cock hard underneath me, my pussy resting over it and driving me more than a little wild. I’d never been in a situation like this before. His dark eyes burned into mine and I threw all caution to the wind as I undid the rest of the buttons on my dress. It fell, the material gathering around my waist. Morgan held my eyes as his hands moved away from me to grasp my dress and toss it to the ground.

He practically growled as his gaze roamed over my body. I’d chosen my lingerie carefully this morning, choosing the nicest set I owned. It was white lace, so I was worried it made me look too innocent when I’d picked it out, but I didn’t have a lot of choices. Now I was thrilled with my selection because it fit the role I was playing to perfection.

“Maybe if you’re very good for me I’ll forgive you for being naughty,” he said as he trailed a finger down my chest and snapped the front clasp of my bra open.

His action surprised me, and I moved my hands to cover my chest without realizing what I’d done. He quirked an eyebrow at me in a subtle challenge, like he’d known all along that I wouldn’t be able to stay in character. Taking a deep breath, I remembered the role I needed to play if I wanted this job and forced my arms back down.

“What if I want to be bad for once?” I asked as he slid my bra straps down my arms.

It was like he’d woven a seductive spell around me, making me forget why I was here and all of my troubles. I’d never felt anything like this before. My skin was on fire, goosebumps running along my flesh. My panties were damp and I couldn’t stop myself from rubbing lightly over his length. My body was tightening in anticipation of what would come next.

“As long as you’re with me, you can be as bad as you want to be, Angel,” he whispered before closing his mouth over one of my nipples. Each hand held one of my breasts, squeezing lightly. He plucked at the other one with his finger and thumb, making it pucker with need.

“Ohmigod,” I gasped at the sensation, closing my eyes so I could pretend this wasn’t actually happening.

“Look at me,” he ordered, and my eyes popped back open to find him staring up at me. “You keep your eyes on me, Angel. I want to see every single thought that runs through your head. No hiding.”

Summary

The real hero of this story is dead. You should have met him. He was a beautiful man. The love of my life. I didn’t deserve him.

Now what’s left are the jagged edges of the person I am without him, and what I have to do to get by. This isn’t even a story about love. Not really. It’s a twisted tale of revenge and hate—a happily never after.

The only man in my life now is the one I have to kill.

I’m Savvy Raine.

I used to be a wife.

I used to be a mother.

Now I am the Revenger.

Review

I never quite know what I’m going to get when I dive into a Debra Anastasia story. She has a unique style to her writing – one that doesn’t confine her to certain standards – one that allows her to shape the plot and her characters the way she wants to without worrying about the reality of situations – the fantastical works for Anastasia, and she definitely delivers the extraordinary and other worldly in her newest release, The Revenger.

“You just fight the bad guys and keep the good people safe.”

That’s Savannah Raine’s purpose…the reason her life was spared and altered while her husband and daughter died in an accident that not only destroyed her happiness but manipulated her into a deliverer of retribution…a punisher of misdeeds, and no one is more on her radar than the man who stole her happiness and left her with a power that can ultimately destroy her as well.

There are multiple perspectives in The Revenger, and all of them provide a wider view of all that Savvy has become since the accident, emotionally and physically, and because the viewpoints are on both sides – those with golden auras and those with red – it stands to reason that there would be a clear scope of right from wrong, good from evil, but that is not the case, and that’s what works so well with Savvy’s role as revenger and what she teaches to those around her, even those she wants to punish because the hatred oozes out of her when she’s near them.

Savvy’s story begs the question if there are people who can clearly be defined as good and bad or if there are moments in everyone’s life when there is no choice whether to commit a crime or not because others could be negatively affected if you don’t. The Revenger doesn’t answer that question nor does it try to prove that there is only one choice to make in any situation but what it does show is that everyone has good and bad inside of them and it’s how they live and the decisions they make that lead to the type of aura that surrounds them.

The Revenger is an intriguing read that proves how extraordinarily precious life is and the complications and conflicts that arise when people forget that idea and then have to be remained in atypical ways because that’s the only way they’ll see what their life is supposed to be instead of what they’ve allowed it to become.

Revenger Teaser Love falling Cover C

Excerpt

There was very little chatter after the alarming phone call. Savvy looked at the clock. It was only five, but the extra help Tallow had enlisted acted like she was about to disintegrate. When they were finally done, they hung Savvy’s costume from a door, fully expecting her to drop trou in front of all the strangers.

She looked at the silver outfit meant to demean her and classify her as his, just like all his other favorites.

“Yeah, I’m not actually going to be wearing that.” She looked from one shocked person to the other.

Tallow recovered first. “But this is what he told you to wear!”

Savvy laughed hollowly. “Yeah, he can suck his own d*ck for all I care.”

The atmosphere changed. The others now realized Savvy didn’t think it was a huge honor to be a f*ckhole.

“That’s not acceptable. I’ll put you in it myself if I have to, but you’re leaving here in that outfit.” Tallow bravely gathered up the skirt and came into Savvy’s personal space. He obviously thought she was just a regular girl.

In an instant she’d lifted Tallow into the air by his neck. “I’m not wearing it.” She stared him down until he began to turn blue. Then she set him back on his feet.

Tallow was a quick learner and smoothed his fancy shirt. “Okay then, let me see what else we have.”
