tag17Sexy, tattooed and inevitably dangerous. Memphis is all that and more…

I live for the pain; it’s what drives me to keep moving. But there comes a time when one has to push the demons aside in order to survive.

I thought I buried them deep. I thought I was ready to finally live. Until… my brother, Alex; he throws me into the fire—right into the place I could never control myself, the one place I never want to be again.

When I put my hands on people, they get hurt. Things happen that bring me back to that night. The one that will forever torment me.

I’m doing fine, keeping to myself in order to ensure no one gets hurt by me. Then along comes Lyric, and all I want to do is touch her, to put my hands in places that I know will only lead to her being crushed by me.

She’s the rush that I crave. The darkest of poison running through my veins, killing me bit by bit; like a drug I can’t get enough of even though I’m almost down to my last breath.

And being around her only hurts more, but what she doesn’t understand is that I welcome the pain; I get off on it, which in the end leaves me with the hardest decision of my life—one that might get us all killed…

tag19Lyric steps away and laughs before walking over and stopping in front of me. She looks up into my eyes and licks her bottom lip. Her whole body is glistening with sweat now, and all I can think about is tasting every inch of her. “Dance with me, Memphis.”

I pull my eyes away from her lips and flex my jaw. As much as I want to put my hands all over, I need to fight it, but this fucking liquor isn’t doing much to help it.

“No, Lyric.”

She takes a step closer and runs her tiny, soft hand down my arm. “Just once. It’s not even a big deal. It’s just a dance. It’s not like I’m asking you to fuck me. I’m asking you to touch me.”

“You want me to touch you,” I growl. I roughly slide my hands over her hips before gripping her waist and slamming her up against the wall. Leaning in, I fist her hair in my hand and whisper in her ear. “Is this how you want me to touch you? Touching someone that I know always leads to them getting hurt.” I grip her waist tighter and press my body flush with hers. Her body trembles against mine and her breathing picks up as my bottom lip brushes over her ear. “I’m fucking tainted, Lyric. Running now would be your best option.”

She looks up into my eyes and wets her lips, fighting to catch her breath. “I. Want. You. To. Touch. Me. I’m not running anywhere.”

FUCK! Those words do me in.

COVER REVEAL: The End Game by Kate McCarthy

Title: The End Game
Author: Kate McCarthy
Cover Design: Mae I Design & Photography
 Release Date: April 7, 2015
Synopsis

“Professional athletes are pillars of their respective communities. They are heroes in the eyes of boys and girls and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that positively represents their community.”

The public loves a good scandal. Seeing someone fall from the pinnacle of success makes a great headline. No one knows that better than I do. What started out as a promising career in college football, spiraled into scandal and shame.

But being a hero is easier said then done. Especially when there are those who expected to see the great Brody Madden fail. I craved nothing except being the best—willing to do anything to prove them wrong. But I went too far, and I tried too hard, and it broke me.

“At the time of going to print, Jordan Elliott was unavailable for comment.”

I met Brody Madden in my senior year of college. An Australian native on an international scholarship, I was the female soccer sensation with stars in her eyes and no room for a hotshot wide receiver with a chip on his shoulder.

But a heart bursting with ambition and a driving fire to succeed isn’t made of stone. I became his strength, his obsession, and the greatest love of his life. Only I wasn’t there when he needed me most.

This is a story about love and a game that takes everything. Where the path to glory is paved with sacrifice. Where pressure makes you, or breaks you, and triumph is born in the ashes of failure. Where two people’s end game will change everything.

MAX

Feelings are a luxury I can’t afford. Hidden behind a shield of quiet placidity, I keep my secret safe from those who’d use it against me. Until him—the tatted up, self-centered Scar assassin hired to protect me.

He takes pleasure in tormenting me, chipping away at my defenses as if I’m a toy to be played with. I hate that he continuously reminds me that I’m nothing more than a job. I hate that my body responds to his touch. I hate him.

JASPER

I’m not a good guy and I don’t pretend to be. Condemn me if you want, I don’t give a fuck. You’re nothing to me. No one is … except her—Max. She’s my target. And I was hired to do a hell of a lot more than protect her … I was hired to kill her.
It should’ve been simple, but it was complicated as hell.

*erotic paranormal romance. Standalone full-length novel. Come meet the Scars.

Scars: Immortal warriors with capabilities derived from the senses: Trackers, Sounders, Healers, Tasters, Visionaries, and the rare Reflectors. They each have what is known as an Ink, a tattoo that can be called life.

excerpt

“How long since you fucked a guy?”

“What?” Her arms moved as if she was about to cross them over her breasts and then decided against it and put them back at her sides. “What does that have to do with anything?”

“Because when I fuck you, it will be hard. I need to know if you can take it.” I’d expected her to grab her shirt and put it back on. That was what I had intended. To scare her. Instead, she stared at me as she undid her bra and let it fall to the floor.

Fuck.

I was a guy. A guy that didn’t give a shit if a woman hated me in the morning, but they never did. I may be a selfish bastard but I never left a woman unsatisfied. And it was more a self-serving reason as I could always get seconds when I wanted. But this was different. Everything about it was different.

Max was different.

And that should’ve scared me enough to walk away.

But Max … staring at her milky white naked skin … her handful of breasts with nipples erect and waiting for my mouth to be sucking on them. I should’ve walked back into the bathroom, shut the door and jerked myself off in the shower.

I didn’t.

COVER REVEAL, EXCERPT, AND TEASERS: Hitchhiker by Stacy Borel

Title: Hitchhiker
Author: Stacy Borel
Genre: New Adult, Romance
Coming: Early 2015
Photographer: FuriousFotog (Golden Czermak)
Cover Designer: Kassi’s Kandids (Kassi Bland Cooper)
Lonely and lost, I knew I had to leave, even though I didn’t know where I was headed. Driving without a purpose, I let the roads lead. I was just a shell of my former self, devoid of feelings. Hoping I’d find the missing pieces of myself along the way.
Then I saw him—those menacing deep brown eyes, and an air around him that was formidable. I knew that picking up a hitchhiker was a dangerous thing to do, but I was desperate.
Desperate for what, you ask?
To feel.
Excerpt (2)

Prologue

“The heart sees what’s invisible to the eye.”- H. Jackson Brown Jr.

It’s funny how life takes you through different twists and turns. As children, we don’t think, “When I grow up, I want to be in a relationship where it seemed like a fairy tale in the beginning, but sadly I’m soon undervalued and pushed aside. Then I think I want to find a stranger on the side of the road and fall in love with him. I want him to take me down a dark and dangerous path that could potentially destroy me and make me mentally unstable.” Could you just imagine if we knew then what we know now, after having lived through hell? What paths we would have avoided just to prevent the struggle and heartache? Would you still pick the same course so you could feel it, just once? To know what it was really like to love someone with your very essence, only to have it ripped away? The burn, the loss, the grief, the dry crusted tears on your face? The earth-shattering moment you knew you were well and truly gone and never coming back? Or would you choose safety—the known, monotonous days—and comfort?

I think if I were given these options all those years ago, I would have picked the second one. As humans, we crave safety and routine. However, having lived through the moments when I thought my next breath would be my last without him by my side… I’d pick the pain. Why? Because it was real. I fought a hard and valiant battle to deny the lust and passion, as if I had a choice. I didn’t step into it with my eyes closed. Oh no, they were wide open and saw the road signs that glared in my face.

Stop.

Dead End.

No Outlet.

Not fucking happening.

You’re fooling yourself.

This will kill you.

You see, my heart knew what it wanted. It claimed him. The law of attraction did not give me a choice in the matter. That battle that I fought, it wasn’t with him. It was with myself. I tried to go back and remember what it was like before I met him. Who I was, how I acted, how I spoke, the patterns of my life. There was no remembering anything. That girl was gone. The girl I am now… well, I am still falling down a rabbit hole. And this bitch is a bottomless pit.

I’m a Coast Guard wife and currently a stay at home mom. I want to be a nurse when I “grow up.” My incredibly handsome husband and I have been married for 9 years and I have 2 amazing children that keep life interesting.
I am an obsessive reader. I go through 3-5 books a week on my Kindle and I whole-heartedly support my indie authors. After reading well over a couple hundred books this year, I decided I might give it a shot writing my own book. I dabbled with a few ideas and finally settled on a story I know I’d personally read and I began the journey of creating Ever Enough. I appreciate all the support I’ve been given by my family, friends, and fellow indie authors. You’ve all shaped my view on life and books and I’ll be forever grateful!

From the USA Today Bestselling Sweet Home Series, comes Sweet Hope.

My name is Ally Prince and I’ve always been unlucky in love. I don’t know why, I just always… have.

When all of my best friends were falling for their soul mates in College, I was left behind. I was Ally, the pretty cousin of superstar quarterback, Romeo Prince. I was Ally, the best friend to the most amazing group of girls I’ve ever known—a title I loved, but one I became tired of ‘just’ being. And I was Ally, the one on which they could all rely.

But to me, I was Ally, the girl with the heart no one had claimed… And I was, Ally, the girl, who underneath it all, was heart-breakingly lonely.

I LOVE love; the thought of it, the nervous excitement of falling for Mr. Right, the desire of someone becoming my entire world… of me becoming theirs. I’ve always wanted passion, heart-stopping, epic, life-changing romance… I’ve always wanted the fairytale… I’ve always wanted it all.

It just never seemed like I would get it.

For the past few years I’ve thrown myself into my career as a museum curator. I’m the best of the best, the person every museum wants to hire, so when an opportunity came up to move to Seattle, I jumped at the chance. My cousin and my best friend lived in Seattle and I needed a change. I needed a new beginning.

I wasn’t expecting to meet anyone in the Emerald City. I wasn’t expecting to work closely with the reclusive new sculptor my all-important gallery design was centered around. And I certainly wasn’t expecting to fall for him… heart-stopping, epic, life-changing love…

My real life fairytale come true.

But, like in every fairytale, there’s a villain, a dark and tortured soul… I just didn’t know that the villain and the hero in my story would end up being one and the same.

New Adult Romance Novel—contains adult content, sexual situations and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up.

Forensic accountant Annie Griffin has always suspected she’s a bit jinxed, so when she finds herself 35, single, temporarily homeless, and pregnant on a technicality by a gigolo, her fears are confirmed.

Adrenaline junkie and professional stuntman Max Bowen needs a house-sitter to watch after his pets while he’s out of town. Annie needs a place to stay. Standard quid pro quo. No biggie. She can handle that, whatever hellhounds he owns. Until Max, the most sought-after bachelor in the county, comes back ahead of schedule and suddenly she’s roommates with a 27-year old sex God who turns out to be so much more than what she expected.

Max might have had the attention span of a humming bird on crack when it comes to women, but that was before Annie. Her quirkiness and sweet contradictions soon captivate him, not that she’s inclined to give him the time of the day. With his reputation preceding him, he knows the odds are badly stacked against him, but he will do his best to prove her that he’s what she needs, stuck-up socialite grandmothers, doomsday preppers, groupies, pregnancy hormones, and repentant biological dads be damned.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY: Worth The Risk by Claudia Connor

Title: Worth the Risk
Series: The McKinney Brothers #2
Author: Claudia Connor
Publisher: Loveswept
 Release Date: February 3, 2015
Synopsis

New York Times bestselling author Claudia Connor follows up her heartfelt debut, Worth the Fall, with a novel about Matt’s brother, Stephen—and when a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

 Review

It’s hard to risk everything when you have nothing to lose…

That’s Stephen McKinney’s outlook on life ever since his picturesque life exploded five years ago, turning the once affectionate and loving man into a playboy who merely uses a woman’s body for release and nothing more. Stephen’s a broken man who only gets satisfaction in building his multimillion empire but even that’s a means to an end. His life is surrounded by nightmares and dark musings and those demons haunt him daily, constructing a wall between himself and his family because the pain is still raw and his feelings of inadequacies seem insurmountable, especially when he looks at the families his brothers and sister have and knows that that’s no longer in the cards for him.

Hannah Walker has her own hell to contend with, and in many ways, she is even more broken in body and spirit than Stephen. Her 14 year old naiveté drastically altered her life, confining her to a self imposed prison due to the damaged caused to her all those years ago. She’s a recluse who finds comfort in providing therapy to children with disabilities at her inherited horse farm, Freedom Farm – an apt name for what the land and interaction provides Hannah’s battered heart. Even at 26 years old, she’s inexperienced when it comes to men, especially with someone as dominant and sexy as Stephen.

It’s a risky endeavor for these two damaged souls to form a bond and give into their attraction for one another, but anything worth having is worth fighting for, even when it’s one’s own fears and insecurities forcing a series of pushes and pulls that could end up shredding any progress Stephen and Hannah have made as individuals.

When the promise of healing is within one’s grasp, isn’t it always worth the risk?

I loved Matt and Abby’s story in Worth the Fall, Book One in Claudia Connor’s The McKinney Brothers series, and I was equally enthralled with Worth The Risk. Stephen and Hannah’s story is much different than Matt and Abby’s, which is exactly what I look for as a reader of a series. Each brother/each couple should have their own personalities and obstacles; Stephen and Hannah’s journey is much darker and gut wrenching due to their respective tragic pasts, and so the path to becoming anything more is expected to be bumpy and frustrating for both the characters and readers.

Claudia does a fantastic job of shaping her main characters in a way that makes Stephen’s hot and cold demeanor with Hannah make sense, and even though it’s maddening to witness his treatment of her at times, it’s almost expected. Someone who has suffered like Stephen and regressed in having relationships cannot simply shut that off and embrace this newfound passion he feels for someone outside of sex, and I love that Claudia stayed true to that concept throughout the book.

Hannah’s enlightenment and newfound resolve is also a work in progress, and she’s going to put up her own roadblocks and have to deal with her very overprotective brothers and their treatment of her circumstances as well, and Claudia demonstrates Hannah’s inner conflict as well as her relationship with Stephen evolves into uncharted territory.

Worth the Risk is an emotional and raw read as readers witness two deserving characters struggle to find their worth in their own eyes as well as those around them.

Claudia Connor wrote an amazing story and developed characters who readers will be rooting for from the very beginning.
