My Review
New KA Biker Series? Yes…please.
Kristen Ashley is totally one of my ride and die authors. She’s one of the very first romance authors I found when I dove in to Indie romance, so she’ll always be one of my top faves.
That being said, I do find it difficult to not compare an author’s first amazing MC series to her new one, regardless of how hard readers try to be open to new possibilities. And I have to admit, there were parts of Still Standing that brought me back to my Chaos roots, reveling in the alpha male declarations and the way the biker brothers had each other’s back, but there were also parts that didn’t feel like a KA biker book and those are the parts that I struggled with…those were the scenes that left me feeling some sort of way that I don’t normally feel as I read romance stories.
Don’t get me wrong…there were still many parts I found myself loving and I for sure wanted to be a part of the Aces High Motorcycle Club – the whole group dynamics and camaraderie is something I always love reading about and it’s clear that blood is not the only thing that makes a family. The idea of claiming…the idea of belonging…the ins and outs of extended family relationships and the drama and suspense that always comes with dealing with the MC life.
All in all, I’m excited for Kristen Ashley’s Wild West MC. There is a lot of story to tell about the MC, about the bikers who wear the Aces High patch, and about the women and kids who make this alpha males exactly who they are today while also focusing on the back stories that developed these characters as well.

“Babe,” he growled.
A warning.
Definitely.
I’d gone too far.
I also didn’t care.
“Okay, so then does Tia have to sleep with one, or, say, all of your boys?”
“Don’t do that shit. You know that’s not what I’m talkin’ about.”
“So maybe you’ll explain what you’re talking about.”
“I would, you shut your trap.”
I shut my trap and stared at his shadowed head.
He stared at mine.
Then he muttered, “Christ, need my head examined.”
“You could get off me,” I reminded him.
“Is this shuttin’ your trap?”
I shut my trap again.
“You take of care my house and my business as well as me.”
“What does that mean?”
“That means you move outta the apartment before they kick your ass out. You move into my house. You keep it clean. You keep me fed, that is, when I’m not feedin’ you, and I like to cook, so mostly, I’ll be feedin’ you. You come to work with me and take care of the office, and you go home with me.”
Wow.
Was he serious?
That sounded like…it sounded like…
My God, it didn’t sound like a sex-for-safety arrangement.
It sounded like a relationship.
