Unexpected Destiny starts off right where Unexpected Love left off. This time, readers get to hear more from Christian, Arissa’s assigned protector, who was mostly an onlooker in book one. We were only given small segments of his thoughts in book one, but now, instead of being the man of only Arissa’s dreams, Christian is the man of her reality. Arissa is hesitant at first to start a relationship with Christian because of the ordeal she went through, but Christian slowly removes her fears. Christian has grown to love Arissa as he has watched and protected her for so many years, and as their relationship progresses, Arissa falls in love with Christian as well. Arissa seems to have the best of both worlds because she has dream Christian as well as real-life Christian. Arissa’s dreams are extremely erotic, and she is able to do in her dreams what Christian will not let them do in reality – have sex. It is an intriguing concept to write an erotica text where the main characters don’t actually have sex in real life. It actually works rather well in Unexpected Destiny.
The paranormal aspect is a bit hard for me to grasp. I think it’s because there are too many unanswered questions. Readers can infer who Christian, Anael, Gabe, and Michael are, but I thought in book 2, readers would at least get some questions answered. Plus, there seems to be only small mythical events that take place, and those situations are not concretely explained. I know that there is more to Arissa than meets the eye as well as Christian and his friends, but I would have liked just a bit more insight into what the bigger picture issues are and why Christian has been watching Arissa for most of her life. Hopefully, with the cliffhanger in this book leading in to book three, all will finally be explained.
Overall, Unexpected Destiny is a good read. I felt more connected to Arissa and Christian in this book than I did in book one because Christian’s voice is more dominant throughout the text. I also like how Arissa and Christian’s relationship evolves from the beginning of the book until the circumstances at the end. Hopefully, all of my unanswered questions will be solved in book three, and the paranormal aspect will be more present to bring Arissa and Christian’s story to a close.

I am a small town girl, I currently reside in the same city that I was born and raised in. I love watching teen drama shows, reading,writing, and listening to music.
I have a loving family my mother who has taught me about love and lasting relationships. A father who pushes me to excel and succeed at anything I desire. My younger sister and I have become very close over the years and she is very supportive of everything I do.
I have been married for nine years to my best friend. I love my husband more than anything. He is so kind, loving and supportive. He likes to joke with his friends that, “My wife writes porn.”
We have an eleven-year-old daughter who is so smart and talented. I can’t believe how fast they grow up. She is turning into quite the young lady. She aspires to be so many things and I encourage them all. She loves to write songs and has even tried her hand at writing a book. Maybe one day she will follow my example.
Being that I am from a small town, I have made some long lasting relationships. I have two best friends that I have known for most of my life. We have continued to stick together over the years and we are always there for one another. I couldn’t imagine my life without them.
Animal lover I am not, but I have a headstrong dog that is the absolute best-behaved dog I have ever seen and a cat that drive me insane, but I love her nonetheless.
I have always aspired to be a neonatal nurse and I continue to work towards that goal. Maybe one day it will come true. However, writing has become my new favorite love.
I never would have dreamed that I would become a writer, but some really great people convinced me otherwise. Eventually I decided to give it a try and what do you know? I just finished writing my second book and I couldn’t be happier. I will continue to write in my spare time with hopes of it becoming a full time career at some point in my life.
So take note, I am just a small town girl trying to bring light to your darkness, anything is possible if you work hard at it. So hold your head high, get out there, and do what you love.
