Lost Without You is Shay and Brenna’s story. It’s the story I have been waiting to read ever since I finished Lost for You. The ending to book two just about killed me, but it also made me want to hear Shay’s story. I wanted to understand the reasons behind his player lifestyle; his need to remain unattached from anyone but Brax and Elle. Shay’s relationship/closeness with Elle proved to me that he was more than capable of love, so I knew the loss that Brax tiptoes around with Shay was beyond devastating, and boy was I right!
One Year Earlier – this is where Shay and Brenna’s story begins, and even though their first encounter doesn’t go so well, the attraction between them exists from the very beginning. Despite Brenna’s father’s ploys to break them up, they remain together and fall hopelessly in love, but readers already know that the end to their story is not a happy one, and the events that lead to Brenna being stripped from Shay’s life are excruciating, especially when her father told Shay to not let anything happen to Brenna.
After reading their story, it totally makes sense why Shay was the way he was in the other two books in the series. Lost Without You completed the series for me; I needed to know Shay’s past to accept what happened in his present. Shay’s life was never complete after Brenna, and even though, the ended of Lost for You was hard to accept – Shay got what he wanted….what he needed to be whole again. The words BJ Harvey wrote at the end of the text from Shay’s perspective are beyond amazing…they are the perfect sentiment of Shay’s love for Brenna. I couldn’t have asked for a better story!

EXCERPT
I giggle as he wraps his arm around my waist and tries to turn me around back toward our apartment. I twist out of his arms and keep walking toward the car. Footsteps and muttered grumblings behind me tell me that he’s following me.
I step to the side, and Shay’s arm reaches out to open my door. “Thank you, kind sir,” I say sweetly as I curtsy.
“Ha fucking ha. You’re going to pay for this. All I can think about is laying you out on the hood and devouring you for dinner. You can’t expect me to hold a coherent conversation when you look like that.”
“Mission accomplished then?” I smirk at him through the windshield as he walks to the driver’s side and hops in.
“Is the movie a requirement of this date night, cause I’m sure we could make a movie of our own.” He waggles his eyebrows at me suggestively, and I burst out laughing. Nothing that comes out of my man’s mouth can surprise me now. It’s one of the many things I love about him.
He pulls out of the driveway and soon we’re on the expressway heading south toward the restaurant. He holds his right hand out to me and I grab it and put it in my lap, making sure to rub his hand up my bare thigh, earning a growl.
“Tease,” he grumbles.
