Born to a prestigious political family, Avery Adams plays as hard as he works. The gorgeous, charismatic attorney is used to getting what he wants, even the frequent one-night stands that earn him his well-deserved playboy reputation. When some of the most prominent men in politics suggest he run for senate, Avery decides the time has come to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. With a strategy in place and the campaign wheels rolling, Avery is ready to jump on the legislative fast track, full steam ahead. But no amount of planning prepares him for the handsome, uptight restaurateur who might derail his political future.
Easy isn’t even in the top thousand words to describe Kane Dalton’s life after his father, a devout southern Baptist minister, kicks him out of the family home for questioning his sexual orientation. Despite all the rotten tomatoes life throws his way, Kane makes something of himself. Between owning a thriving upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown Minneapolis and managing his long-term boyfriend, his plate is full. He struggles to get past the teachings of his childhood to fully accept his sexuality and rid himself of the doubts brought on by his religious upbringing. The last thing he needs is the yummy, sophisticated, blond-haired distraction sitting at table thirty-four.

Let me start by saying that my review will not be able to do this book justice; I’m going to do my best to convey how truly outstanding Always is, but the only way readers will understand the power of Kindle Alexander’s text is by buying it and experiencing it for themselves.
Always tells the story of Avery Adams and Kane Dalton; two men who come from two very different worlds and backgrounds. Avery’s family is political royalty; he’s a prominent lawyer who is primed to make his own mark on politics. Because he leads a high profile life, his personal life has to remain somewhat hidden. There’s speculation about Avery’s sexual orientation, but he leaves it at that by keeping everything behind closed doors. Because of this, though, he has not had a significant relationship…there have only been a series of one night stands…enough to sate him but nothing more. All of that changes for Avery when he walks into La Bella Luna – a small Italian restaurant – owned by Kane Dalton.
Kane’s life has not been easy. At 18, his father, a pastor, kicked him out of the house without a dime to his name because Kane came out to his family. He’s seen as an abomination in their eyes, and they want nothing to do with him. Kane is a very religious man, so he struggles with his sexual orientation enough on his own, but his father’s words and his family’s alienation make him believe that he deserves God’s condemnation. For those reasons, he never full invests in a relationship, putting everything he has into his restaurant. When Avery Adams has dinner at Kane’s restaurant, though, Kane finds himself wanting Avery more than he’s ever wanted anyone else. Avery and Kane may not have seen each other coming, but they are made for one another…they make each other whole and give one another what they’ve always needed.
Kane and Avery’s relationship spans over 40 years, and readers are there with them every step of the way. We get a front seat view of all of their “firsts” together. They share a lifetime of happiness and love, and it’s amazing that despite what life throws at them throughout the years, they remain steadfast in taking care of one another and their family. Kane and Avery’s connection is solid throughout the entire book. There is turmoil that surrounds their life together, but it does not affect their love; in fact, it only solidifies it. They share the kind of love that all people no matter gender, race, or age yearns for and hope to one day have for themselves. The unconditional love that they have for each other from the very beginning transcends prejudice and hardships – any and all obstacles are never strong enough to break the bond that Avery and Kane share because they refuse to give in…they refuse to back down from what they want and what they deserve. They are one another’s always and forever.
Always is a timeless love story. Through Kindle’s amazing storytelling, readers embark on an unforgettable journey where love is all that matters. Kane and Avery are such dynamic characters; they seem so different from one another but that is exactly why they fit so well together. Readers are given both of their thoughts and feelings throughout the story, which significantly adds to the depth of understanding. The supporting characters are also a wonderful aspect of the text – in all that Kane and Avery endure, they have the love and support of their close friends and family, which adds to the love that is represented in the story.
This is a definite must read; the book pulled me in from the very beginning. I was sobbing about 4% in, and throughout the entire story, I was laughing and smiling. Readers will definitely need a box of Kleenex next to them, but the tears are so worth it!
Thank you, Kindle Alexander, for telling such a passionate and all consuming love story. It is one of the best romance stories I have EVER read.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!
I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.
