Review
One phrase that does not describe Faye Connor is a biker’s old lady, but a night of hot sex, a broken condom, and a baby changes everything about Faye’s life, and if Dexter Black has anything to say about it perhaps that’s what she’ll become as long as she keeps an open mind, an open heart and a closed mouth, which readers soon learn will never happen;) As Faye enters the Dragon’s Lair, her path in life transforms, and she’s exposed to things she never thought she’d see or play a part in, but readers watch her make her own family with the Wind Dragons MC; we witness a bunch of bad ass alpha males succumb to her witty banter and sassiness, and I, for one, loved every minute of it.
Faye may not understand what it means to be part of a Motorcycle Club, but as she is forced into this world, she makes up her mind that she’ll do what she can to protect her child and the man she has grown to love, but nothing’s easy in a biker’s life, and Faye’s strength will be tested; her morals will be shaken, and her trust in the man who brought her into it all will bend and sway. Dex is your typical biker; he’s stubborn, foul mouthed, and used to getting what he wants, but Faye brings out a gentler side of him as well. He may be the Wind Dragons VP, but he soon learns just how much Faye means to him, and he takes the steps to make her his. It’s not an easy transition for either of them, and there are plenty of stupid comments made and negligible acts committed, but Faye and Dex will do whatever it takes to give their baby the family she deserves; any sacrifice is worth it as long as the baby is safe.
Dragon’s Lair is a fantastic read. It’s a lighter MC book, but that’s why I enjoyed it so much. I loved how the biker brothers take care of Faye and make her one of their own, and even though there were times that I wanted to knock some sense into both Dex and Faye, the way their relationship develops and how they give just what one another needs is exactly what I love to see in a romance story. Arrow was one of the supporting characters who intrigued me the most, so I can’t wait to see what his story entails in Arrow’s Hell. With what he went through in Book 1, I’m not sure what will happen with him, but I can’t wait to see how everything plays out.
