And the truth will set Ashley free…or make things a hell of a lot more complicated.
At the end of Figure Eight, Dominic finally learns the real reasons behind Ashley’s actions of betrayal and is forced to deal with the fall out of not only dealing with the main players in the plot against him, but also his treatment of Ashley and the close relationship that she now has with Rownan due to his behavior. As Dominic tries to restore his bond with the love of his life, he has to contend with Ashley’s growing feelings for the man who saved her life and the knowledge that if he doesn’t step up in a big way, he may lose Ashley for good and that is unacceptable for the domineering alpha.
Ashley and Dominic’s relationship has come a long way since Ashley’s Bend, but this is by far their biggest test because a lifetime together is what’s at stake. Both of them are in no win situations, though, because Ashley can’t help but have feelings for Rownan because he stepped up for her when everyone else went against her; she also feels responsible for what happened to him, so the guilt weighs on her conscience, enduring her to take care of him regardless of the damage it may do to her connection with Dominic. Dominic couldn’t have reacted any differently to the accusations that were thrown at him by a blackmailed Ashley. He didn’t know the situation she was in, but he also had committed himself to her, which was a huge step for him, so her betrayal brought out the darkness within him. But the passion Ashley and Dominic share is not something that cannot be completely extinguished, so Dominic makes it his mission to show Ashley exactly why she belongs to him heart, body, and soul.
The final book in the series brings all of the angst, twists, and steam from the previous two books and adds the concept of a love triangle with multiple meanings. I love how the titles of the three stories symbolize Ashley’s growth as well as the bond that she and Dominic share.
Ashley’s Bend illustrates the changes that Ashley experiences when she goes out of her comfort zone and takes a risk by being a part of Dominic’s world. She bends to his will in more ways than one, but her willingness to extend herself ends up changing her life for the better.
Figure Eight signifies the obstacles that seem to be in the way of Ashley’s happiness and it also shows the state of both Dominic and Ashley’s hearts and minds. They are literally tied in knots as they try to figure a way out of their respective positions, but there’s no easy fix, which ends up tearing them apart.
The meaning behind the Triquetra is probably the most important to Dominic and Ashley’s newfound situation. The Trinity knot of three interlocked pieces has many interpretations in the events of the final book. It could be viewed as the triangle that Ashley finds herself in with Dominic and Rownan. It also could suggest Dominic’s promise to love, honor, and protect Ashley at all costs. But the meaning it ultimately implies is one that readers will have to find out for themselves by reading Dominic and Ashley’s ending.
Cassy Roop’s Celtic Knot series has fantastic characters and a storyline that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Because each story is told through both Dominic and Ashley’s perspectives, readers get to understand what they are thinking and feeling as the events play out before them. Dominic and Ashley’s bond started as a way for Ashley to surrender her body and her mind for the ultimate pleasure and while Dominic still controls Ashley’s body, she also controls his heart and his soul, and even though they’ve gone through hell, a connection like that is too knotted together to be broken.

4.5 poison apples

“Ashley, you don’t have to thank me. I wanted to do this. For the first time ever, someone else’s happiness by far surpasses my own. Plus I need to make sure that my son grows big and strong, so be prepared to be fed.”
“Oh, really? So you think it is a boy already, huh?” I asked chuckling.
“Yeah. My testosterone says so. I am incapable of producing girls.”
“What makes you think that?”
“Because if I had a daughter, and a guy ever looked at her the way I am looking at you right now, I’d have to fucking kill him.”
The temperature in the room rose a few degrees as a hot flash of lust ran through my body. A soft sheen of sweat trickled down the small of my back. Swallowing audibly, I replied.
“Just how are you looking at me, Mr. Michaels?” I asked batting my eyelashes in mock flattery.
“Like I want to run my tongue over every visible surface of your body. Like I want to taste, suck, and devour that little tantalizing pussy of yours. Like I want to tie you to my bed until you are writhing beneath me and begging me to put my cock inside of you.”
Holy shit…
Every single one of Dominic’s words went straight to my clit causing an electric buzz to tease my most sensitive part of my body. I squeezed my thighs together trying to create friction to help dull the ache that I had for him deep in my core.
