The final instalment of Zeth & Sloane’s story is here!
With Lacey missing and everything falling apart, Sloane and Zeth will do everything they can to get her back. If that includes facing off against Charlie Holsan, the DEA, and anyone else who gets in their way, then so be it.
Faced with heartbreak, danger, and the increasing need to protect the ones he loves, Zeth Mayfair is finally realizing what it means to have a family. With her fears coming full circle, Sloane must learn that forgiveness is the only way to move forward.
Review
In Collateral, the danger and challenges that Zeth and Sloane face are extreme, and the collateral damage that occurs due to the precarious position that they find themselves in will alter their lives dramatically…all bets are off in this kill or be killed final installment of the Blood and Roses series, but one thing’s for sure, Zeth will do whatever it takes to protect the angry girl who has come to mean so much to him, even if it means sacrificing himself.
The only guarantee in Zeth and Sloane’s world right now is that one way or another the showdown with both Charlie and the DEA is going to come to an end. Too much is at stake for Zeth not to set a plan in motion to rescue Lacey and give Sloane a clean slate. But nothing comes without a price, so Zeth needs to decide how much he’s willing to lose in order to gain/keep the things that make his life worth living.
Throughout the series, readers have witnessed Zeth and Sloane’s connection go beyond their bedroom chemistry, and along the way, Zeth has also transformed, allowing Sloane beneath his mask and wanting to prove to her that he can be who she needs him to be. But before Zeth can truly allow Sloane’s light into his life, he needs to face his darkness, the monster within, the one that was created a long time ago when his life turned to shit at the hands of an evil manipulator. Zeth has never fought to get past his nightmares, but in Collateral, he works towards that end result, knowing it’s the only way to get what he wants – Sloane.
It’s bittersweet that Zeth and Sloane’s story has come to an end, but there’s no better send off that Callie could have given them than the one they get in Collateral. The events of this book bring their relationship full circle and give them a new beginning – one without the monsters threatening to get them at every turn.
In Deviant, Zeth shows Sloane what it’s like to be a part of the darkness for a while, and as her behavior reflects, it may scare her, but it definitely turns her on as well. Zeth lets his big, bad wolf come out to play and Sloane becomes his willing victim. In Fracture, Sloane lets go of the safety net that has always surrounded her and grabs hold of Zeth, becoming a much different person than the one everyone has seen her as. In Burn, the danger is heightened and the passion between Zeth and Sloane is scorching, proving once again, that this dysfunctional couple may just have what it takes to make it through the darkness that surrounds them. Fallen solidifies how deep Zeth and Sloane truly are and what’s at stake for both of them as they continue to battle the outside forces that threaten them. Twisted drastically alters their lives once again and illustrates just how out of control everything has gotten. Zeth and Sloane’s path is wrought with immense obstacles, but despite the chaos, their connection centers them and makes them fight even harder. In Collateral, they are each other’s most prized possession and the one thing that they would willingly die for, but they’re also who will see one another through the darkness and prevent the damage from taking them under.
It’s been one hell of a ride through this six book series, and I loved every fucking minute of it. Zeth and Sloane are extremely complex and rounded characters who readers have loved since the very first scene, and the secondary characters Callie created add another layer to this already fantastic series; I hope that Callie gives readers some of their stories because I know there’s definitely a lot to tell.
The Blood and Roses series is a definite MUST READ from beginning to end. Definitely worth the emotional ride!

“Zeth accepts the key card off the counter and collects our bags—more clothes and toiletries procured by Michael—and then he leads us over to a sleek, minimal elevator. There is no call button, just a black panel mounted into the wall that Zeth touches the key card to. A white star icon appears on the black panel, pulsing ever so slightly.
This place is super fucking surreal. I cast one last look over my shoulder as the single, seamless steel door slides back to give us entry to the elevator, and I catch the receptionist, watching us. He gives me a very slow, very deliberate wink. My cheeks burst into flames. I step onto the elevator, unsure whether to mention the man’s salacious suggestion to the guys. Because it definitely was a suggestion. A single girl headed up to a room in a place like this? With two men? I turn around as we wait for the elevator to begin its ascent, Zeth on one side of me and Michael on the other, and a wicked part of me grabs the reins. I make eye contact with the receptionist. And I wink back.
His professional façade crumbles as he sends me an appreciative grin. The doors close, and then it’s just the three of us. Michael nudges me in the back and leans forward so his mouth is close to my ear. “Are you misbehaving, Dr. Sloane?”
I can’t help it. I laugh. Zeth gives Michael a warning glance. “Better not be fucking hitting on my girl.” He cocks an eyebrow at his friend, and his demeanor is all fight, though I can tell he’s only joking.
Joking and Zeth Mayfair. I’d never have thought the two would go together, but I’ve learned of late that the man I call mine is actually a very funny soul. He just hides it really, really well. Michael straightens his tie, glancing up at the display—twelve, thirteen, fourteen—and says, “Me? I wouldn’t even dream of it.”
